Good store but can be improved in terms of client servicing.

This whole situation started when Apple Pay wouldn’t process my purchase of an Apple gift card directly from Apple. I thought I’d found a smart workaround by using a third party — GiftYa — which advertised “Apple eGift – Instantly Send Gift Cards.”

Naturally, I expected to receive a normal Apple eGift code that my recipient could redeem in their Apple account. Instead, what I received was not an Apple gift card at all. It was a GiftYa voucher that required debit card activation and reimbursement, which my recipient could not use. The gift was completely unusable as sold.

As both a consumer and someone who values transparency in business, I want to share my experience with GiftYa so others don’t go through the same frustration.

I purchased what GiftYa advertised as an Apple Gift Card. Like most people, I reasonably expected a standard Apple eGift code that my recipient could redeem directly in their Apple account.

Instead, what I received was not a true Apple gift card at all. It was a GiftYa voucher that required my recipient to link a debit card in order to be reimbursed. My recipient could not use this method, leaving the “gift” completely unusable as sold.

When I contacted GiftYa support, they admitted that no Apple eGift code was included. However, they refused to issue a full refund. They offered only the $30 load value back, while keeping a $1.95 “processing fee.” Charging a fee for a product that cannot be used is unacceptable.

For reference, my order number was GYC-1813642. I include this to verify that I am a real customer sharing a real experience.

⚠️ Why this is misleading:
• GiftYa markets this as an Apple eGift / Apple Gift Card. Their own Google ad says “Apple eGift – Instantly Send Gift Cards.” This strongly implies you’re purchasing an actual Apple code.
• The product delivered is not a gift card. It is a debit-linked reimbursement voucher — a very different product.
• Support repeatedly refused to issue a full refund, citing policy, instead of acknowledging that the product was not usable.

Because of this, I filed a dispute with my card issuer (Visa/Step Banking). This is a clear case of a product being misrepresented and not delivered as described.

⚠️ Advice to other buyers: If you want a real Apple gift card, purchase directly from Apple, Amazon, Target, Best Buy, or another trusted retailer. GiftYa does not provide actual Apple gift cards, and if you encounter issues, their refund policy makes it difficult to recover your money.

Businesses should always be upfront and transparent with customers. Transparency builds trust — anything less damages it.

Bought a 10 dollar gift card for DoorDash then the customer service guy tells me that Door Dash does not offer a 10 dollar gift card they start at 15 to get an Egift code. Huh? Not one time was there a prompt or warning for that. All it kept telling me was that it was a 1.95 processing fee. So I'm waiting for a gift code and then when my I go to activate the card it's prompting me to attach my debit or credit card to it. Why would I want someone to have something attached to my account like that? All I wanted was a 10 Dollard gift card that's it. Then it kept encouraging me to attach the card so I could get an additional 10$. So now it's 20 useless dollars that I can't use. All of this complication for an e-gift code. To add insult to injury I had to pay a 1.95 fee for this useless crap. NEVER. EVER. AGAIN.
