Gotoflyer Avis 290

On January 2nd I received a call telling me my brother died. I needed to travel up north quickly and checked out airline prices. They were fairly high and they came upon Gotoflyer. They quoted me a price of $243 for a round trip which was decent all things considered. However 25 minutes later I get a call telling me that that seat is not available however they can hook me up with a seat on the same flight for $690. I was very upset at this and felt this was a scam/ come on,especially the way they denied they were doing it. He told me how this is a very unusual experience however after checking some other reviews I found out that this it happened on December 7th the 26th and another review said 7 days ago. This IS NOT an unusual occurrence ,they seem to be taken advantage of people who are in either a crisis or stuck in holiday travel .It is highly unethical and outright dishonest. However I felt I was boxed in because I needed to get up there and while debating and saying okay I could do the $690,reluctantlyhey place me on hold to approve the transaction. During this time I quickly search another website and found Expedia offering the exact same flight same package for $150 less. Also showing that there was still available seats so I went and booked with expedia. Upon reconnecting with Gotoflyer ,I told them this told him I was not interested in any of their services and to cancel all transactions. They had the audacity to charge me $66 for canceling my first reservation which they in fact they were the ones who canceled it and then on top of that they charge me another $66 for canceling the second reservation that was never confirmed. I have just informed them again now that if this cancellation is not revoked I will be contacting the better Business bureau. I do not know how they received any reviews above a 1 and would have to wonder if they're bogus like their pricing is. Let the buyer beware.

Absolute scam. Do not use this service. Bait and switch and won’t refund and then tries to sell same tickets at twice the price.

I made an online reservation to travel from Salt Lake City to Lima Peru for the price of 588 and when I called they said there were two seats available and they would send me the confirmation tickets in an hour and then they called me telling me that there were no more in that promotion and that it had gone up a little more expensive and I told them to cancel it but they told me that I would pay a fee and I told them that I would not pay and if I do not pay the cost of 588 of the same reservation will be charged and in the end they ended up charging me 160 for the cancellation they are scammers if they do not have more tickets at that price they should not put them on their page

Beware of gotoflyer.com! Bait-and-Switch Tactics!

I recently attempted to book a flight from Boston to New York through gotoflyer.com and had an incredibly frustrating experience. After booking at what seemed like a reasonable fare, I received a notification that the booking couldn't be completed and I had to call them. I called them and they shared that the price I booked at was no longer available and there was a new price that had increased significantly. When I explained that I wasn't willing to pay the inflated price, they informed me that I would be subject to a cancellation fee. Such a tactic felt crazy and possibly illegal, as they were the ones who failed to honor the initial price.

Despite my efforts to reason with them and request to speak with a manager, they remained inflexible. Their insistence on charging me a cancellation fee for their own error felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of customers. I ultimately threatened them with contacting the Better Business Bureau and writing a review Trustpilot. After this, they suddenly said there was no problem and I would not have to pay their blatantly wrong cancelation fee.

Based on my experience, I strongly advise against using gotoflyer.com. Their deceptive pricing practices and abusive customer service make them an unreliable and untrustworthy option for booking travel.

They promised me a flight for 140$ and with in 5 mins I got a call from the customer care saying the price has changed from 140 to 386$. I asked them to cancel the itenary , they said they would still charge me for cancellation fees. They were very very unprofessional and I am reporting them to BBB.

What a joke. Booking a flight for my father - a disabled Vietnam Vet and his CO to get to their Navy reunion from PHX - STL in Sept. 2025. Booked for $285.00 PP. An hour later get a call that there are "no seats available" which is BS - I called the airline directly and confirmed that there are seats available to and from. Now they was $549.00 PP. AND the original amount of $526.00 was non-refundable!!!! Now I have to dispute my CC yet they have all the info - name, address, DOB, CC# etc. to commit further FRAUD. Not happy. This company is a complete disgrace.

Pague por unos pasajes me cobraron $933 USD, me llaman porque mi banco no había procesado el pago, le pregunté a la asesora que si me mantenía el mismo precio a lo cual me respondió SI, procesamos el pago y a los minutos me devuelve la llamada la misma agente y me dice que mi precio de mi pasaje subió, y que me toca pagar una diferencia de $500 USD, le dije que parecía un abuso de su parte cuando unos minutos atrás me dijo que el precio seguía siendo el mismo, tuvo el descaro que decirme que no quería pagar por unos pesos más !!!! Cuando son ellos quien están haciendo publicidad engañosa, cancelé mi tarjeta y la transacción!!! Me dijeron que ellos me reembolsaban mi dinero pero me cobraban $150 USD !! Descarados… entro a la página nuevamente y siguen ofertando el mismo vuelo con la tarifa que ellos no pueden sostener!!! No compren con ellos, lo hice a través de jetcost

Purchased tickets from newark nj to Lisbon portugal for the 4 tickets at a price of $443 each, they sent me emails saying booking was confirmed and payment was pending, about 2 hours later i receive an email stating “I hope this email finds you well . we would like to inform you that your reservation is confirmed but unfortunately we are getting the price difference from airlines end TAP PORTUGAL from EWR- LIS and the price of the tickets are coming now for USD 2698.52 the price difference is coming for 856.73 for 4 tickets.” To then i said no thank you i do not want the tickets at that price and gave them a call. I made it all the way up to a supervisor and he told me that the tickets are confirmed and to cancel i would have to pay a $60 fee. For price that i myself never confirmed, they never reached out to me to let me know that there was a price difference of almost $1000. This company is luring in their buyers a ridiculously low price knowing they will not be able to honor those prices and then confirming tickets and when you want to cancel they charge you a cancelation fee.

I have the best experience with costumer service from REINA SANCHEZ she’s is amazing person so patient very polite pasión with her job very knowledgeable on about her job for me the best of the best i will recommend 100% thank you very much

This agency shouldn’t be allowed to operate in USA. Practices that are ok overseas don’t work here. This company has to abide by the US ways of doing business and refrain from its switch and baiting tactics.
Once customers show interests in booking through their website, the agency allow you to book and then switch and bait on you after you received a booking email hoping your will pay the hiked prices. No one wants to deal with phone calls or emails from agencies regarding a process that should be simple and transparent from A to Z.
I deplore that this agency is collecting our protected information (names, DOB, credit card #) in a move I suspect has nothing to do with booking rather other purposes in this global climate of speed for global market share and dominance from countries in ASIA, AI, and other obscure reasons we don’t know. Booking an online deal should be easy across the board regardless of which platform you are on.
Switch and baiting on the other hand is very very bad business. There are millions of travelers ever day on the planet hence this is definitely an awful business model and tactic.

THIS IS A SCAM!!! They take your money and they don’t have the flight available that you purchased…the CSR’s are rude and when demanding our refund they called my wife broke and said you can’t afford it…But I had a trick for they a**! The CSR said I’m going to charge you the full ticket price anyway sooooooo we canceled the debit card immediately. LOL! They tried it but they didn’t know I’m with all the BS😂

Reina was able to adjust and addressed my iasue with the changes of price and booking flight. she able to handle the issue well until ticket reservation was resolved and confirmed. I recommend her for being patient and resoleved in ha ndling costomers issues. Thanks

We as a family are presently in Brazil and last night booked a reasonably priced flight with this agent. The flight booked is a flight is to get us to our connecting flight out of Brazil. On
completion of booking a booking reference was provided and my credit card charged for the agreed amount.
To our dismay we were contacted the following day to say that they were unable to hour our booking unless we paiid the additional 1000USD but they could find slightly cheaper flights if we were "flexible". I should have been on my guard as soon as seeing the first email which was worded poorly. We are currently in the stressful process of getting this sorted out.
