I would like to thank NICK for being so professional and knowledgable.
He was respectful, courteous and kind and stayed calm even though I was a bit shaken.

Being waiting for 10hours, the worst company I have delt with. In my 50 years driving, totally useless,stay away from them

Complaint details The service I received from green flag was appalling,
I broke down on a junction adjoining a very busy main
road and was part blocking the road I was stuck on,
rang green flag and explained were I was and that it
was endangering motorists to get round me,
The operative said as I was near to home I would
have to pay £139.36 as I didn't have home start yet I
was about half a mile from home so she asked for
payment before she would send anyone,
I explained that I was just going to take the dog for a
walk and i didn't have my wallet on me and as It was
the insurance company that included the cover she
had all my details including my mobile number and
email addresses and I am also register disabled could
they send someone and I would contact them when I
got home,
It was cold and raining and I am resisted disabled also
I am 79 years old, she suggested I walk home and get
my card or get someone to bring it, whichever way
she would not send anyone, I had to ring someone to
go to my home and bring my wallet to get help consequently I was 2 hours in the cold
The engineer was ok no blame to him
Left unsupported. What did I pay for.
We took Green flag for a safety net for our Spanish trip with car and caravan. We were in the countryside and our car window was smashed while we were away from the car. We came back to the car, with alarm going off and the window completely smashed. I rang Green flag to ask for assistance and was told to give an address which wasn't possible as we were in the countryside. I was told that an address was needed to get help. I said I could send a location pin but was categorically told that was not acceptable. We were left in a foreign country without any support. I am now wondering what I paid for if there wasn't any help offered.
3 pm daughter's car won't start at…

4.10 pm daughter breaks down again near M25 Woking.
6.30 pm mechanic arrives. Charges battery and says alternator is ok. Refuses to tow home as he says car is ok to drive despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
7.45 pm daughter is now sat over crash barrier on her own in the dark bordering on hyperthermia alone on M25.
Green Flag now tell her somebody will be there at 9.30 pm
I will leave everyone to draw their own conclusions as to whether Green Flag provide a good service.
Hopefully my daughter will survive to find a better breakdown service.
Do not book through a Comparison site!
Whilst Im sure Green Flag do a fine job at recovery (never had to use them myself) my experience of being a member was painful. This seems to be related to signing up through a comparison web site, as if you do this you have no access to anything! I got no confirmation emails, I couldnt access the app (only for those who book direct) even the website chat bot refused to talk to me once I said Id become a member through a comparison site. If I have paid the company money, however it came to you, why can I not have the same level of support as users who come to you direct!
Rubbish Call Centre
Called 4 times to try to renew cover, eventually requesting a call back. They called back and told me to ring next week when it might not be so busy. Found different cover at half the price elsewhere and annoyed I tried so hard to stay with them.

Broke down at work had to wait 90 minutes for technician to attend absolutely useless diagnosed problem completely incorrect could not start the car then had to wait another hour for recovery vehicle. Really poor service received. LJ RECOVERY were excellent but green flag were utterly unacceptable.

Try and put your premium up when not even used them once and when try to cancel off there automatically renewal it’s near on impossible. No where in the app to cancel so have to phone and no one will speak with you just transfer you to a different member absolutely disgusting services. Definitely won’t be using them again cowboy tactics.
Having to ring is tiresome...
I wanted joint cover for three vehicles. The AA and RAC on-line quote tool can handle this. With GF you have to ring to get a quote - even via chat you cannot get such. After 10 minutes of hanging on I gave up and sorted a good price with the RAC instead. If they want you to ring they need to properly staff the phones

Kept saying it will be with you in half an hour absolutely ridiculous we'll done to highway agency for bringing them some blankets. Keep away from Green flag and we will send them the medical bills for hypothermia😡
Puncture
John came within 40minutes. Sorted out my puncture, recommended local tyre company. My second experience with Green Flag. Excellent company well worth my 5 stars.
Purchased a years breakdown cover…
Purchased a years breakdown cover policy in January, have not recieved and documents just get a email recipet of payment recieved every month.
Spent over half a day on the phone for still jo one to answer as I need a copy of the policy to travel in the EU.
Do not think I will be renewing this next year, will be looking elsewhere as the customer service is shocking!!

Appalling lack of customer service
Up until May of 2025, I was delighted with the service GreenFlag provided. However renewal quote went from £48 to £101 ( despite not having to call them out) I contacted them today to query increase, how they could justify increase and why they were happy to lose customers . between 14.55 and 16.02 today , I was passed to no less than 4 different staff members who couldn't help me, finally ending with 'would you like to renew your policy?' Customer service??? a joke.

Cancellation of the auto-renewal is a terrible experience. Funnily enough, it's easier to sign up than to leave! I logged the cancellation request online and they say they'll confirm by email that it's cancelled, but nothing happened.I had to then call up to cancel rather than risk getting charged. There are cheaper and more reliable suppliers that offer better customer service.

NO UNDERSTANDING OR COMPASSION what so ever from GREENFLAG call centre. I have been a Green Flag customer for over10 years. Earlier this year I was diagnosed as having early stages of Altzimers and wife was shortly after diagnosed as having early stages of cancer. We then spent the 6 weeks of daily travel to and from Macclesfield for her treatment. During that period our car came up with a air bag failure light. The car then sat on the drive for several several weeks and still is. I contacted Green Flag to see if they could resolve the issue at my home, they said yes a few minutes Iater they said no, I asked why the.. MOT on the car has expired. Could body explain to me why that would make any difference to repairing it on the drive??

Thank fully on both the occasions I had to use green flag for a breakdown, I have found service super.
However, I tried to combine our 2 accounts ( mine and my wife) into one account for simplicity.
Wow, the only way possible is to loose 6 months cover ( different renewal dates) to achieve one renewal date.
A great company, let down by admin from another century !

Broke down in Wales and Green Flag came to the rescue within 40mins approx. They temporarily fixed our problem to get us to a car hire company and and arranged to ship our car home to Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, so our local garage could fix the problem...Thankyou Green Flag .. you certainly saved the holiday! Will certainly recommend you 👍
