Won't honor protection plan
On July 16th 2020 I bought $1,500 worth of furniture from Ashley furniture. I got the protection plan for $169. I have tried to place a claim with this company for scratches and gouges in my furniture they denied my claim stating that it was already claimed. This stuff that I sent had nothing to do. That was new stuff. It was not the same I sent pictures of recent damage and still got denied. Guardian protection plans are a joke. I will never buy another protection plan from a company or even buy furniture from a company is guardian. Is there insurance? So basically I have a piece of garbage furniture and can't get it fixed because they're claiming that I had already filed the claim with the same damage. It's not the same damage. It's even more damage that I did on my own, the footboard did not have any peeling All I wanted was my furniture fixed but they're not going to do it saying that I had already filed the claim. No, I did not file a claim with the same damage. No, it's not the same damage. I did this all on my own. I will tell everybody in my family if they have to use guardian as their insurance not to buy the buying the furniture because this company is a joke. So now I wasted my money on insurance and on furniture that I'm stuck with made a complaint with the better business bureau and they lied. They're not contacted me yet about my furniture so apparently they're not worried about the review. Unfortunately, better visit bureau close it, which i don't know why because they're a bunch of liars
-0 stars this company is stealing money
If I could give this zero stars I would! I purchased a Warrenty to protect my furniture for damage and stains. I’ve submitted 2 claims one for a stain and one for the recliner chair that broke. I waited months for my claim to process. Called numerous times trying to speak to someone for an update which theirs no love representative. Then finally the first three responses was they needed pictures. Mind you pictures were uploaded in the original claim submission. Then my stain claim was denied because I didn’t know how the accidental stain came about. After much back and forth about the broken chair that claim was finally repaired. Now I just continue to get emails saying they are working on getting a servicer. I’ve been waiting more than 3 months. I just bought a new bed set android was offered a guardian plan which of course they won’t get another dollar from me. Don’t give them a dollar.
We bought our furniture from Ethan…
We bought our furniture from Ethan Allen in Buffalo and bought this extended warranty. We filed a claim in early January and have yet to have anyone come out and see us. This company is absolutely horrible. They have given us nothing but run around asking us to resubmit the same requests numerous times. Lots of bs delay tactics on their part. I would not recommend this warranty to anyone. Our next action will be speaking to a lawyer. We are quite disappointed that a reputable furniture retailer would sell such scam of a warranty.
I filed a claim with Guardian product…
I filed a claim with Guardian product protection. We bought our sofa set with Bel Furniture about two years ago. The sofa and armchair started getting rips and tears from most of the non leather surfaces. Guardian denied our claim stating it was wear and tear. We will never again purchase a protection plan from this Guardian company.
horrible the worst people ever
horrible the worst people ever, save your money don’t waste it on a warranty that won’t help you with anything
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We purchased electric recliners for Rooms To Go for our basement in March 2020. We barely use this furniture and in Dec 2022 the motor died on all 4 recliners. We filed a claim online and it took them 1 month to get a service Technician, who by the way was a subcontractor with a horrible attitude and showed zero respect for our furniture. I don't know why they ask what the problem is if they aren't going to equip the subcontractors with commonly used parts. It's now month 2 and we still don't have working recliners. The bogus messages they put on their website just burn me up and forget getting ANYONE on the phone with customer service. While working, I called and let the phone sit on speakerphone for 2 hours and no one ever answered. I've called early in the morning when they first open, mid-day, and evening and you can NEVER get anyone on the phone. They tell you to leave a number and keep your place in line for a callback and you never get called back. They ride on the excuse that it's COVID and they are short-staffed. It's 2023, give me a break! It's all lies. It's like the milk it out when they know your warranty is about to run out too. I've never experienced such poor service from an organization.
Total ripoff
Total ripoff. Americans are struggling to maintain and they are lying about the service they provide.
I purchased a couch from Bob's Discount…
I purchased a couch from Bob's Discount Furniture and additionally purchased a 5 year warranty from Guardian. After just having the couch for a few months, the bottom frame and seam started to separate on a nearly new couch with hardly ANY wear. Guardian send a technician over to fix the issue which resulted in the couch being nailed together. I was skeptical that it would be enough to resolve the issue but since I had a 5 year warranty, I waited to see if any issues arose after "the fix". Well, this same issue happened again because the frame is cheap and they are refusing to cover the damages. This couch is only used for its intended purpose should be covered by the warranty as it was the first time, as this should be considered accidental at the very least. All I do is sit on the couch and it's falling apart on both sides?? They are refusing to help me and their customer service is awful.
GPP is a SCAM
GPP is a SCAM. They deny the claim for any meritless reason and manipulate the wording/acceptable reasons to approve. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! Check the hundreds of reviews on BBB, Consumer Affairs, anywhere. You will find countless reviews of customers being denied and ripped off of hundreds of dollars for this fake warranty plan.
If you read the legalese
If you read the legalese, who does that, you will see that they cover virtually nothing. We need to report them to the furniture companies we bought from. 97% unfavorable, need more be said?
Total scam, don’t waste your money
Total scam. Run from offers of the “Protection Plan” besides separating you from your hard earned money it offers zero. My claim on three pieces of furniture From Ashley Home were all summarily denied and deemed “final decision”. This is flat out a rip-off. Hundreds of dollars spent on this “protection” and all we got was a bad taste in our mouth. If offered this Guardian Plan just say “No”. When it comes to Guardian: Poof you’re getting taken. Bad form Guardian, bad form.
Just adding my one star...
Just adding my one star that should be a zero star. We bought furniture from rooms to go and they sold us the extended warranty that goes through guardian. We were told it would cover wear and tear, breaks and more. Well a chair broke specifically while we were moving it into the house. We got told because of that we were denied and they wouldn't cover it. The reps were snide by email and basically have turned us off from buying any furniture from rooms to go/ any of the extended warranties. They are a waste of money and guardian is honestly the WORST company. Buyer Beware.
After a month of waiting
After a month of waiting, they sent out a technician. Sept 16. He was fine. Said they had to order parts and they are taking 2 to 3 months to get. Received an email today asking if the Twin XL beds are in the same room. Adjustable Split King so yes, they are in the same room. One is not working. Why in the world would that matter. Answered their question and received an auto response that said they would not be able to respond to me for 30 to 45 days because of "covid". Covid is the excuse for every company that doesn't want to give any service. The first time they had to fix the bed.(The other side) They sent us the parts and we had to do it ourselves. Because of covid.
SCAMMERS!!
They definitely are a scam, you pay extra for the protection and they deny it!, It's w a waste of money, DO NOT BUY!!
Trash
Trash. They cover nothing. How is accidental damage not covered, when the policy specifically states it is? Filed a claim, and they stated the damage was ineligible and denied my claim. They get you with the verbiage. They asked me how did the damage occur, I said movers, and they gave me the runaround and told me to contact Rooms 2 Go. I responded and said the damage occurred under "an incident", and they closed the claim. I filed another claim and took days, and then I went into the live chat to cancel the policy (in which you can, full refund within 60 or 90 days, I can't remember which, and prorated thereafter), someone from claims magically sends an email saying I was missing information and asked about providing a picture of the furniture piece, I sent it immediately. It took several more days, then finally received an email stating I'd hear back in 24-48hours (a joke). Then, they sent me an email the following week and stated that they needed more information about how the incident occurred. I stated in the original claim it was due to the bunkie board that chipped the side wood panel of my bed frame. When I received this email asking for more information, I knew where this was heading. I emailed requesting a cancellation and refund on the policy (which you can, as it's stated in the long-winded policy they have) and demanded a receipt of the cancellation and refund amount. I will wait for a response, but I do have legal support standing by in case they want to try me and waste any more of my precious time and energy. I am outside the 1-year store warranty from Rooms 2 Go which sucks, but I for damn sure am not going to be taken advantage of. I'm requesting a refund and I'd recommend you do the same. Additionally, I will be checking with my renter's insurance to see if damages to my furniture are covered under them (I mean what else is the coverage for anyway). Check with your renter's/homeowner's insurance and save yourself time, money, and energy!!!
UPDATE: I have contacted Rooms 2 Go directly to cancel the "protection" plan and requested my prorated refund.
After canceling the 2nd claim, I still received an email stating the claim was processed and denied. This is what they stated to me, and mind you I only requested a repair on a chipped wooden side rail caused by bunkie board:
"Guardian Protection Products has processed the claim to your furniture. The damage you have reported is not eligible for coverage under your extended service contract. The plan you purchased from Rooms To Go does cover your furniture for:
• Frame or structural breakdowns
However, your plan specifically excludes aesthetic parts such as knobs. It is possible you may have protection for this type of damage under your manufacturing warranty. AND bunkie boards are not coverage under your protection plan.
Please contact Rooms To Go directly at 800-766-6786 to file a claim on your manufacturing warranty.
Thank you,
Guardian Protection Products, Inc."
Again, don't waste your time and money, not worth it!!!
GPP Fraud
GPP - Its just fake. They are professional scammers. They tell lies, cheat and commit fraud. Even after the claim approval, they have not provided any resolution. The Customer service department is a joke. They have been telling me to wait for "1-2 business days" every time I contact. They mock customers by giving false information. I am not sure how BBB has given a A rating. They dont deserve it.
Guardian Protection Products is a SCAM!!!
Guardian Protection Products is a SCAM!!! I've tried to file a claim online for damages to a piece of furniture covered by their protection plan. They automatically closed the claim stating that I didn't provide enough info about the damages. There is no way to reopen a claim on their website and provide additional details. When I try to file another claim, they automatically close it stating that the claim is not eligible because I have already filed a claim for the damages. No one answers their phone number (on hold for over an hour). No one responds to their website chat messaging system (says the reply time is under 15 mins, but I kept the window open for 3 hours with no response). I can provide all the info they need for the original claim, but there is no way to contact them to sort it out. I think they want it that way so people will get frustrated and give up trying to contact them. I wish I read all the negative review before I purchased this plan. They appear to be in the business of scamming people out of money, not aftermarket warranties.Guardian Protection Products is a SCAM!!! No coverage of foam or feathers
My 110 pound dog urinated on my sofa. Guardian sent a “tech” out for inspection tech stated foam/feather cushions needed to
be replaced. Could not be cleaned because of the feathers. Guardian denied claim because they only cover the fabric not the foam or feathers. The couch is slip covered so we were able to clean the slip covers with 100% success. This company is a full blown scam. Stay Away! Save your money!
They are aweful
They are aweful. The wood/hinge broke off and they denied claim saying it was not a specfic event. Like opening a door is not a specific event. The wording gives them a way out of any claim. Don’t waste your money
This is an updated review since my last…
This is an updated review since my last one. Guardian gave us 2 solutions to our rocker/recliner saga. We took option 1 which was full price refund to the store to purchase a new chair. I never thought we would get any resolution. I'd like to think they got sick of me calling or sending e-mails on a regular basis. We have already picked out a new chair and delivery will be coming this weekend. I did e-mail them to thank them for a full refund. But, a new warranty, on the new chair, WAS NOT PURCHASED!!!!
