Do NOT waste your money
I would give zero stars I could. First of all, you cannot talk with anyone - they want everything online. After submitting pix -- and then submitting more pix -- I get an email today to say it'll be another 10 business days for someone to contact, with the veiled threat "If you call in before the allotted time, it may further delay the processing of your claim." So far, it seems you are on your own if you file a claim.
Never Again Guardian Protection Products
Guradian Protection Products is not a legitimate company. Whenever you attempt to actually file a claim the find some obscure clause in their 'policy' to deny it. I spent over an hour today speaking to person after person who just kept reading from the same script. These policies are sold and the time of purchase as a comfort that you never have to worry about your furniture. Buyer beware.
Spam spam spam!!!
Scam warranty, need class action
This company has 1 star everywhere including trustpilot, google and consumeraffairs for their warranty scam. Guardian protection products (gppclaims.com also onpointwarranty.com) denied my claim saying that this is not covered. The coverage paper clearly says the damages were covered for 5 years. We should use our legal rights and file a class action through a good consumer lawyer
Total RIP off
Total RIP off! Purchased a 2,000.00 "leather" Lazyboy recliner 10 months ago that started peeling on that back...only to be told that "it was normal wear and tear..."and would not be covered, BUT had it been an accidental tear, puncture or a rip...it would have been covered...go figure! VERY displeased!
Guardian Protection products… onpointwarranty.com
Guardian Protection products (gppclaims.com) also known as onpointwarranty.com is fraud. Do not buy their warranty. They will reject your claim even if you have the coverage. They have thousands of such negatives reviews all over the internet.
SCAM BUSINESS!
I called this joke of a business on Friday, August, 11th, 2023. Legit was on hold for the first 10 minutes trying to get any rep. Once a rep came on I explained how my wife's massage chair was not working / mechanism may be broken.
I also had to point out when I did a claim there was a prior claim that my wife attempted to do and the business denied her cause she was not me her husband who owns the chair / furniture.... The rep said yeah the claim was denied, because there were two cases open which made no sense as they refused to make one from what she was told.
Either way I was told to stay on the line and do not hang up as he was going to transfer me to the escalation team. Again on hold for nearly an hour now with this scam of a business. As I am on hold for nearly 50 minutes a rep, let's call her Amanda gets on the line and I explain everything in detail.
Amanda claims I cannot get the chair repaired as there was two claims open and both denied.... How can any chair be denied being repaired when the business never even seen the chair or attempted to find out why it doesn't work. Top it off I purchased this crap insurance through Bob's Furniture another joke of a business, but that's another story.
I request to speak with a Supervisor or Manager. Again on hold for over 10 minutes waiting for anyone. Now I have been officially on the line for 1 hour and 30 minutes getting zero help. A rep let's call her Mary, gets on the line and claims if anything other than the motor is broken they will not cover it, per the policy and claim.
Now mind you all this is BS!!! Bob's insurance plan covers everything except intentional damages! I personally do not sit myself in any chair as I do not find it comfortable period, my petite wife uses it and after having it for nearly 2 years it just stopped working.
Mary claims if it's anything other than the motor they will not cover it. They were sued multiple times in the past for failure to repair peoples furniture. And after coming on here and seeing all the negative reviews it is a no brainer! They truly are a scam business. Just take peoples money and deny all claims possible!
They even wanted me to appeal a decision through email and I laughed at them and said why would I send an appeal when I have sat on this F'ing phone for over an hour and 45 minutes! Do you freaking job!
They are 100% going to be dealt with legally as I am not finished with them refusing to repair a chair that is covered and I paid insurance for! Top it off to attempt to make any consumer to jump through numerous hurdles for what, so you can deny a claim!
I would never recommend them to anyone.
Warranty is a SCAM
First they said I was not in there system. I went back to the store and got all the right credentials to prove I paid for the warranty protection on my recliner chair. Next after proving my warranty protection and putting in the date that it happen. (Motor want work on recliner) I wait thinking they are going to call me. They next send a email saying I was ineligible because I have 30 days from the date of saying when the motor went out on the chair to the date of filing the report. Even though I am still covered under the warranty period, Again I told then the date the motor went out. Took almost two weeks to prove i had a receipt for the warranty. However, I was too late because they have a policy stating you only have 30 days to file a claim after the incident happens.
They are a RIP OFF / SCAM. Reporting to the Better Business. The Room Place sold this to me.
REFUSE the Warranty!!!
This extended warranty from Guardian Protection(GPP) is a waste of time and mostly money. I purchased my furniture from Rooms To Go in March 2023 and put a claim in to have my furniture *cleaned-that’s it, just cleaned- in July after a children’s birthday party. I was told that they don’t cover an “accumulation of stains” nor do they cover stains “where the body comes into contact with the upholstery”. I specifically told them that my children and their guest spilled food and beverages on my dining room chairs and bench—on Accident. How is that not covered when their contract says they cover accidental food and beverage stains? And why wouldn’t you cover stains that come from a human body anyway? I personally feel that an annual cleaning should come with the plan in the first place especially if you don’t file any claims. It’s crazy that we pay hundreds of dollars for warranties that we don’t use but when we do need them we can’t even use them. It’s highway robbery. You’re better off putting money to the side “just in case” for your furniture yourself. Oh, and they refuse to give you a refund.
Terrible Terrible Terrible Waste of…
Terrible Terrible Terrible Waste of Money
LazBoy should be ashamed for conning me into this terrible fabric protection plan. They don't protect anything except their profits. I dont write many reviews but I will tell anyone who will listen that this is a scam and you should stay away. I don't have any advice for how to get them to approve your claim...my only advice is to not buy their plan. You will regret it like I do, $600 later.
Scammers! Hiring lawyer
I have looked this company up and 1 star reviews speaks. I have 2 sofas that are broken. The stuff that is wrong is covered under the warranty. They said so themselves. But because a date was entered in correctly they won’t fix them. They find any excuse to not fix ppls items. I bet so many ppl will come forward and file suits against this company! I spent 40 mins on hold I was told no worries we will get this fixed let me transfer you. To sit on hold for someone else to come back and say it’s covered but we can’t help you because of date entered. Oh and you can’t fix claims. This has happened to so many ppl! Enough is enough. You will be hearing from my lawyer and I can not wait for others to come forward who have said they are hiring lawyers as well!
Bad service bad
Avoid Claims
We purchased a 3 year warranty on multiple pieces of furniture. 2 years in, we decided our mushed down cushions just weren't working out. We'd tried to fluff them ourselves, figure out online ways of restuffing and even rotate cushions. Nothing seemed to work. I called Guardian to file a claim and sent pics of the couch. They denied the claim saying we didn't report the issue within 30 days of it happening. The email also stated "this is the final decision" with no opportunity to respond since this was an unmonitored mailbox.
How do you decide when cushions go too soft? What are the specific characteristics the smushed cushion threshold?
It seems they simply don't want to manage a claim on furniture that doesn't outlive the coverage. Now we are stuck with a terrible couch having paid for coverage that seems useless.
Are negative stars an option?
If I could give this company a half star, I would.
This organization claims to offer a 3-year protection plan- steer clear! They will not follow through with their end of the bargain.
This company is making a lot of money off deceiving people, and we will use every channel we can to make sure people know not to trust this organization.
Little to no customer service, and they would not speak to us to allow us to ask questions about their process.
Very deceitful. Very disappointing. Avoid interacting with this company if at all possible.
Poor service/no resolution
This company is not easy to reach by any venue phone, email, ect.
Original claim was denied and had the wrong purchase date listed. My couch is still under their warranty and not Bob's discount furniture.
The store has repeatedly tried to resolve the issue and still has no updates from them.
Fraudulent and Unprofessional
I started a claim for my couch, purchased from Bob's just over a year ago, in February. Now in May, they have finally decided to cover PART of the repair. A week ago I got a call from a "scheduler" who could only schedule service with their one technician based out of FL, I live in MA. I was told they were bringing in techs from afar to catch up on work, but they would only schedule appointments in my area before noon, when I work until 3pm and do not have the flexibility to take time off. The scheduler got rude with me saying I should be grateful for this technician and have someone else meet the tech at my house. The call ended with her leaving my service as pending. In the meantime, I recieved an email from Guardian saying they were listing my claim as expired because I failed to give the technician access to my house! Now, on a Sunday evening, well past 9pm, I have started receiving very vague texts from a technician in my area who will not specify his name or company, but says he got my name through Guardian and can accommodate my schedule tomorrow. After several texts he changed the date at least three times, saying he was sorry, that it was very late by him - Here too, buddy. Call during normal business hours with a hint of professionalism!!! I don't even know if this tech is legit and have no way of confirming with Guardian due to the lateness of his contact, and I'm leary to give access to my house to someone I cannot even verify is with the warranty company. This is not a professional or appropriate way to do business.
Fraud
This warranty is a joke I bought furniture from Bob's and one of the boards inside the Otterman broke and they say it is not covered I also blame Bob's for selling warranty that don't cover anything 2500 dollar furniture and they tell me I have to get fixed at my own cost.
Hate to say it. They’re the worst!!!
Hate to say it, but they’re right. Poor service, takes forever to get a response to your claim. Then after they inspect it, they send an email acknowledging the tech’s findings and say to hear from Guardian in 3 days, after they review their inspection. It’s been over a month and I haven’t heard back.
Definitely a scam
Definitely a scam. They deny any clam you have. Someone sat on our couch and the back pillow ripped. Of course the said it's not covered because it had to be accidental but not stress related. I'm like really? So the only way you are covered if you so happen to have a knife in your pocket that's open and you cut your couch? Definitely not worth the money. Definitely an insurance scam. You are just giving your money away
