Year and a bit longer customer: couldn't be happier

Having recently been a customer for around a year, I can only sing their praises. Fantastic, personable service - and very efficient too. Had some wear and tear issues with the first bike, Paul and the team replaced it out no issues, timely and with a like for like replacement. Their service has been faultless all the way through my time using them, from initial delivery, to collection when I'd finished with the service. Can highly recommend and will do so going forward! Hurrecane have had a large impact on me

Hurrecane have had a large impact on me. I've been quite ill with COVID, DVT and arthritis. I got so I couldn't cycle uphill at all and was feeling run down. I luckily was selected for a bike with Shrewsbury Moves. Heavy subsidy made it very affordable. I was surprised how quick I got used to an a bike as I hadn't much interest in them. It very soon began to improve my breathing and I improved with use. It has aided my mobility greatly and that lifted my mood enormously. I was able to cycle up porthill which is very steep and have built some of my fitness back. I enjoyed the ebike and was soon making longer and more frequent journeys. I inquired about a fat bike with this in mind. At the end of my subscription Hurrecane offered me a fat bike with a discount which they were under no pressure to do. I saw the mechanic twice in that first year. He was prompt and very quick. I am greatly looking forward to my next year with more enthusiasm than I was expecting. For me they've been a god send. To say I'm pleased is an understatement. I'd reckomend them to anyone who cannot afford a large outlay on and the running costs of a new bike. They've given me a very good service, been friendly, prompt to get any issues fixed and been extremely kind with the way they have helped me. 5 stars from me

5 star company

What a fantastic company. From start to finish.
Can not thank paul, john and the rest of the team enough.
Why buy a bike when you can rent one.
In my personal opinion paul and john go above and beyond the communication and queries are answered promptly.
The bike arrived before the delivery date which was fantastic,(considering i live at the other end of the country)I was so excited to get the bike and get out on the open road.
What a fantastic bike I have mobility issues so it definitely helps and make life so much easier having an electric motor. Took me a bit of getting use to but once you get the hang of it.
When renting that peace of mind everything is covered
I live in a seaside town, so I rented the bike for 6 months. Which suited perfectly. I live in a small house so renting a bike was much more economical . I can hand it back and don't have to store it in side over winter.
So when the summer season starts again I will be definitely be ordering another bike and this time round I will order on of there more expensive bikes and treat my self.
I had no problems with the bike at all. They come full serviced . You can pay extra for other add ons . I went for an extra battery. And the GPS tag. And on the delivery of bike the delivery guy gave me an extra saddle bag to store the extra battery and lock which is provided, which I wasn't expecting.
I am so glad to have found this company. Instead of folking out two to three grand on a bike and not use the sell it for next to nothing and long term storage.
This is why renting for me was the best option

Excellent experience start to finish

I have been with Hurrecane eBike for over 2 years and can confidently say their service has been excellent. From the initial order to ongoing support, every interaction has been smooth, professional and friendly.

The customer service team was outstanding, always helpful, quick to respond and communicated clearly throughout the process. Delivery and collection was prompt and well organised as well as the servicing the bike has been great.

It is rare to find a company that maintains such high standards. It is refreshing to deal with a company that genuinely cares about its customers. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable eBike subscription and exceptional support.

Don't get hit by a car (please note this review is from may 2024)

If you are getting a temporary bike from these guys then maybe they are ok, but for me who used it for a daily commute to work the service was terrible. I had 2 bikes over nearly 4 years so plenty of experience with them.

I will stress I haven't dealt with these guys since around may 2024 so this may have changed.

Firstly when the first bike was being delivered it was delayed multiple times due to the van breaking down.
Then after a while the battery stopped working which took two weeks to be replaced. Even though they have a 7 day fix promise.
Then the spokes on my back tire snapped which took another two weeks to replace, and I was then charged for the replacement as I was told the warranty didn't cover it even though the bike wasn't new when it was delivered and had rust on the wheels already.
I also in this time had to change the treads on the tyres as the originals were practically bald and I kept getting punctures and really couldn't be arsed with fighting for new ones and waiting weeks for them.
Then when the bike broke again I asked to swap it for another on the same price bracket. And was charged yet again being told the damages weren't just normal wear and tear.

Now for the second bike from the day it came the sensor on it was broken and took over a month and two call outs to fix. And as you can imagine these bikes are very heavy to pedal up hill without the assistance.
I then went without out incident for a while untill the final issue... I was hit by a car this is when the real issues began. Now anyone who has dealt with insurance claims knows that as the owner of a vehicle you have to deal with the other party's insurance. Not these guys I was contacted with phone calls and emails telling me I have to tell the insurance of the person who hit me to hurry up or they are going to have to take me to court for the money of the bike, even though I had given them all the details they needed to get in contact with the insurance. Bear in mind the person who hit me claimed full responsibility and there insurance had contacted them, (once they had received the correct email address) on multiple occasions asking for information on the bike so they could complete the claim.
But I was told by the insurance that they kept failing to reply and were quite hard to deal with.
They finally resolved the issue and payment was made but no apology was issued for the inconvenience caused.
And finally to top it off I never received my deposit back after all this was over as I've just found out I was in arrears which I wasn't aware of.

What we can confirm is that:

The matter referenced was fully resolved in May 2024,

The customer’s account balance and deposit were handled strictly in line with documented arrears and the insurance settlement,

And we have extensive written correspondence that directly contradicts several of the claims made here.

We take our obligations seriously and always act transparently, which is why we have contacted the customer privately with a detailed clarification and supporting evidence.

We are always open to fair criticism, but we must also protect our business from statements that are misleading or harmful.

What fantastic people who deliver an amazing service. I've had a few problems with my bike, I've received a very personal response and a level of service that's unbelievable. Paul, Del, Stacey are amazing people who really go the extra mile to deliver impeccable service

I would give zero stars if I could

I would give zero stars if I could, absolute joke of a company, had a bike that lasted a week, it was replaced after 12 days of waiting only for the “new” bike to brake after 1 ride, sent it back and asked for my money back to be told I can’t get my deposit back and they are still taking £60 a month of me even though I have no bike to ride so yeah please stay clear of this joke of a company please
I won’t be taking this down no, I asked for a replacement and you refused even tho you took money from me, I have all the emails to prove even you saying you won’t respond any more

You reported a fault with your bike, then you asked if you could finish the term early. After we had booked the bike back into the workshop, it became clear there was nothing wrong with it. You had used a false claim of a fault to try to sneak the bike back to us before the minimum term of 6 months. This review is not accurate and you should take it down.

When we feel disgruntled customers used review sites to slander our good name, we always feel the need to respond. You broke the terms of your hire agreement, plain and simple.

We arranged delivery and could not make the time before 5:30 pm. Our deliveries are all day so you must be home to sign for the bike. We had to cancel your order because we could not agree a delivery date with you.

We do not think this review is fair, and its a shame you have taken this route.

You will not get deposit back

Awful quality, to be honest I cannot be bothered to write a review on this, the bike was poor quality, they are unresponsive whenever it suits them, you won't get your deposit back.

Its a shame that you have taken to review sites to vent your frustration in a way that is so dishonest.

The bike was in awful condition, even though you had only had it for a very short while. While we cover service, we cannot be held responsible for damage due to neglect and lack of care for the bike. Your bike had to be fully stripped down and shot blasted due to the condition it was returned to us in, which we cannot accept liability for.

They delivered to used bike without any service, less mileage of battery capacity when i complain in the company , after 20 days the service person come and Replace the battery, meanwhile i requested to comapny after one month you collect my bike from my location, another next day they collect my bike and they charged 6 months rent and deposit, when i request to staff people for little bit amount of deduction, they denied and worn to me for court procedure. So be careful new guys.

fantastic idea executed very well

Getting back into Cycling after years of not doing anything active was a bit daunting at first, and having access to something such as an e-bike hire company was something that hadn't been an option when I tried the first time.

I had my Hurrecane E-bike (the F200 model) delivered relatively quickly considering how far away from the nearest hub I am - them delivering it must have taken a whole day out of the schedule which isn't easy to schedule. a very kind engineer went through everything with me regarding the operation of the bike and some routine maintainance/checks etc

The monthly price is absolutely fantastic for all the help and support you get from the team on top of a fantastic bit of kit. If buying one outright isn't an option, this is definitely the best route to getting into e-biking.

Amazing company

The bike was originally delivered very fast and in great condition. The delivery man was very polite and informative. Over the time that I have had the bike the customer service have been impeccable and they have always done their utmost to help. The people I have communicated with have always been very polite and their responses have been very fast. Great service all round

Scammers: kept deposit for a broken spoke.

I am yet another customer who has been scammed by refusal to return the deposit. Bike had a broken spoke, which I reported soon after receiving it, but it was not repaired on several mechanic visits for other repairs and service. On returning the bike they have kept £40 of my deposit to "rebuild the wheel", even though their terms say they only charge for misuse and accidents, neither of which applied in this case. Initially kept nearly £90 to fix "damaged parts" but fortunately I had photos to prove they were not damaged when I handed the bike back to them. It's a shame because I enjoyed using the bike, had recommended them to several clients, and would probably have hired another one next spring but now I will never do business ever again with them. When you see a pattern of customers reporting the same problems you know there is an issue. Avoid this company.

"Hi Dave​' Broken spokes are treated as damage, which involves a labour cost to repair. This is not covered by wear and tear. Regards, John"
So yes, you have charged me £40 for a broken spoke.

The broken spoke was reported to you one month after I received the bike (I have email proof of this) and despite three visits by your "mechanics" to fix other faults, they failed to repair the spoke, which subsequently caused more spokes to fail.

Had I known you were going to charge for a broken spoke I would have fixed it myself for free, but every cyclist knows that spokes break in normal use and are not a sign of misuse or accident. The bike has only be used on road and bridleways and has not been abused. And in any case, it is likely the bike was delivered to me with the spoke already broken, along with the other faults (front and rear brakes, gear change, chain rubbing on tyre, substandard (your words) saddle bolt which snapped whilst I was riding causing injury, et al.

You also failed to mention that you initially charged me for damage to the bike and missing items, but backed down when I gave you photographic evidence that the damage occurred AFTER you had collected the bike from me.

As for "going above and beyond"; I'm not sure how three visits from your mechanics, all of whom failed to fix the broken spoke you had been informed of, is going above anything.

As for denying multiple reports of deposit withholding, maybe you have not looked at your Trust Pilot or Google reviews recently?

Avoid this company. If you are already with them, get photographic evidence of the condition of the bike before you return it as even if the collection driver says it looks good, they will try and charge you for fictitious damage when they get the bike back.

In fact, the vast majority of our customers—thousands who have used our services—receive their full deposit back after returning their bikes in good condition. This is reflected in our consistently high star rating on this and other platforms.

In your case, the bike was returned with damage to the rear wheel that exceeded normal wear and tear. While the full cost of the repair was £90, we applied a £50 goodwill discount and charged you only £40.

Best service ever!

I’ve never experienced customer service as exceptional and attentive as I did with this company. I live in Brighton, and after my e-bike of three years was stolen (classic Brighton!), I was in a bit of a bind. My new bike was on order, but I desperately needed a temporary runaround. That’s when I discovered Hurricane. From the start, their response to my inquiries was prompt, and their prices are incredibly fair, with discounts available for NHS staff. They even delivered the bike directly to my home at a time that worked for me.

The bike arrived in pristine, brand-new condition, fully equipped and ready to ride. When it came time to arrange pickup, the process was just as smooth and hassle-free. I can’t thank these guys enough for offering such an outstanding service and quality bike. I’ve since received my deposit back, and looking back, I really regret ordering my previous bike before finding them—this experience has been a true pleasure.

I treated the bike with the utmost care, of course, and genuinely loved the whole experience. If you're considering renting or purchasing from these guys, don’t hesitate for a second. They are absolutely brilliant!

I’ve had a little problem getting the delivery first it took little longer than usual but finally I get my bike and a couple of days in I encounter an problem and yesterday midnight I leave an enquiry,early morning I get a call from DEL and before I know the guys at my door and within couple of minutes his genius ass gets to the problem. Very satisfying customer satisfaction the guys a star.
