Great service will be back for my next one

Unfortunately I hadn't seen these reviews before I went to buy a car from here and I regret it. They WILL tell you anything to not give your deposit back if you don't buy a car.

I phoned up to reserve a car, like it said to do on their website, where it also says that the deposit is 100% refundable. I confirmed that the deposit was refundable at the end of the conversation and the guy (who was the manager) told me, and I quote "if you change your mind or for whatever reason you find the car is not as advertised, you get your deposit back, 100%".

I then got another call a couple of days later to say that they've added an MOT to the car and given it a service. I just thought this was good communication on their part.

So everything was fine up until now, then it started to go downhill when I got to the dealership. Firstly, I was asked what time I would be there and to let them know when I was on my way so they could get the car prepared. Got there at the time I said and the manager wasn't there. I was stood around for 20 minutes waiting, before he finally turned up and gave me the keys to look around the car.

Long story short, the car was not as advertised. There was significant damage to the side with a shoddy job of attempting to fix it. They did offer a discount to their credit, however not enough to cover how much it would cost to actually repair it properly. I asked for a lower price to take this into account and they refused, so I asked for my deposit back, to which they replied "we don't give deposits back if we've done a service on the car". I was a little confused as 1. I never got told this before now and 2. I never asked for a service in the first place. They were fully aware that all I wanted to do was come and inspect it, and that the deposit was just to hold the car for a few days until I could come over. Then to make matters worse, they tried to gaslight me by saying I asked for the service and apparantly they recorded the call so could prove it (which I wasn't aware of and didn't consent to either), yet for some strange reason, they couldn't access the recordings when I questioned them on it.

I was told to email the owner and take it up with him, which obviously was just to get me to leave. Eventually I had to leave and did email the owner several times, but obviously got no reply.

Don't pay a refundable deposit for a car here, they don't actually refund it and will lie to your face to scam you.

Do not try to buy from this dealer , it's a scam . After you pay deposit , you gonna see the car on sale on Gumtree, Ebay, motors.co.uk. and your car not gonna be ready on time , you gonna loose the deposit. STAY ⚠️ SCAM , FRAUD

Excellent Service and Stress-Free Experience

I recently purchased a car from this garage, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very first phone call, Sam was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions and providing reassurance about the car. I was so confident in Sam’s honest and professional approach that I decided to travel all the way from Scotland to make the purchase.

Refusing to refund deposit as other people have experienced, they seem to think its perfectly fine to steal £250 from a pensioner. Avoid this dealership like the plague...

From my initial contact with Ideal Car Centre and to the point of collection the guys were absolutely brilliant and extremely helpful.

The car is running like a dream and I have absolutely no reservations in highly recommending them at all.

only wish i had read the reviews before buying from this company, if you have any problems with your car , you are in for a rough ride . there most certainly is not any 6 month warranty. doesnt answer the phone , doesn't answer emails , whatsapp , voicemails if you have an issue. had an engine management light come on my car the very next day after collecting. took 3 x visits and 14 days for them to sort it , and it was only a sensor , 14 days with no car was a nightmare . now i have a bad engine oil leak and he is not replying to anything . i feel i will have to get fixed at my own expense and go to a small claims court .

I recently purchased a Renault Captur (SD70 HYJ) from this company and had to return the vehicle within my first 30 days. A local Renault garage discovered significant internal body shell structural collision damage to the rear end of the vehicle. With this they were unable to align the rear radar sensors which ICC stated was a temperamental issue that would resolve when the car battery had charged. Additionally, the clutch malfunctioned and two tyres had to be replaced. The MOT paper work he provided came with no advisories and these faults question whether the car should have even passed the MOT.

My experience was extremely intimidating. The company seemed unaware of consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act. After they refused my short term right to reject and a full refund, I filed my court claim. Throughout the lengthy process, they offered numerous excuses and even made coercive statements that pressured me into settling. After months of continuous push back, I finally received my partial refund on the very last minute of the court order.

I dealt with an individual who exploited the situation, adding excruciating stress and inconvenience. Based on this, I would strongly advise against purchasing from this company.

Furthermore, it’s important to note that I could not find any evidence that ICC are linked to the partner associations advertised on their website, nor do they offer their “warranty” in writing.

The vehicle document showed this car was purchased at Auction, however they did not state the details of the previous damage on the website. After speaking on the phone he informed me that it was cosmetic damage and had been repaired. Do not trust their word without having a full inspection yourself.

I had an awful and most frustrating experience with this dealership. I want to warn everyone so you don't waste your money! They advertise a "refundable" deposit, but don’t be fooled—this deposit is anything but refundable. I changed my mind about purchasing the car as I wasn't happy with it, only to find out that my £99 deposit will not be refunded as I should've viewed the car "wihtin the opening hours". This is the company's misleading terms.

When I inquired about the refund, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. They insisted there was nothing wrong with the car, claiming it had only "age-related marks," but failed to disclose the full extent of the vehicle's issues before the viewing having asked for photos before coming and didn’t mention any significant dents or obvious bodywork damage, the car’s condition was simply not as described.

Their lack of transparency and refusal to honor their own refund policy is unacceptable. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this dealership. There are plenty of other places where you’ll get a fair deal and honest service.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. I issued a ccj against 'Ideal' Cars and won. I paid a deposit, Samir then sold the car to someone else and would not refund the deposit back to me. Dreadful experience. They ignore your phone calls and emails but persevere if you want your money back.

Do not trust this dealer and do not pay any deposits as you will not get it back despite him advertising that they are fully refundable. Paid £200 to hold a car for 2 weeks. 5 days later he said Management had asked for another £100 as 2 other people were looking buy the car (which was lies and the car is still for sale - after 6 months - and he owns the company, so more lies about Management asking for additional deposit). So I told him to refund my deposit - as he "didn't want to lose out on a sale". He refused and said they are only refundable after 24 hours. I had booked flights to go and view the car but after his lies and checking other reviews, I realised I'd probably saved myself a wasted journey. He will tell you the car will be marked as reserved (it won't). Untrustworthy and will scam you out of your deposit and constantly lie. AVOID !!!!

This car dealers, should be shut down, they will sell you an unroad worthy, vehicle, putting members of the public at risk of death or serious harm. I purchased a car from these, low lifes and, had to spend an extra few thousand to get it safe and, road worthy. This place is a serious, hazard to peoples lives and, lively hood. Report this place!!!

Don't buy a car from here. First thing MOT won't show up faults on car. The brake disc was badly need replacing didn't show on mot not even as advisory. Guy was smiling when was saying this and I said even you can see this is a joke. Then tried being serious after. Sam told me this was refundable deposit yet to get back. Don't trust this car dealer

Shocker of a company, deposit put down on a car (that apparently only needed valeting) Monday for collection Wednesday, no contact, chased and was told it would ready today, chased again and now needs a new sump and wouldn't be ready until next Wednesday!!
Called owner earlier to clarify every thing and he was defensive from the off and put the phone down, called him back and he said I couldn't speak to him like that and he wasn't my husband or friend (thank God) and put the phone down again! Wouldn't mind but I'd only asked why we had to keep chasing for updates and to clarify the issues. Called in back and got a mouthful of abuse, he obviously doesn't like speaking to women.
At this point Sam you can shove your scrap car. Will be going through the bank for a charge back for our deposit.
By the way would love to know why the car we were buying is still advertised on numerous selling sites!

Please please do not give this conman any business, he takes refundable deposits but doesn’t refund them if you don’t buy the car or change your mind. He’s refusing to refund my 18 year old £99 deposit. Please check out all reviews before even contemplating buying.
