Very poor customer service, rude advisors
Very poor customer service, expensive insurance!
Would not recommend! I have been with ingenie for nearly three years, during this time I have paid my insurance on time and have been a good customer. Even when they increased my insurance by nearly £100 a month after I went over my “yearly mileage” (based on my average mileage they took during the covid lockdown).
I have cancelled my insurance with them just to first be told they owe me £113 to now be told I owe them £150! That’s more than three months worth of insurance! The person I spoke to was very rude, treated me like an incompetent child and would not transfer me to a manger when asked. Do not go with this insurance company! Ever!

awful. I was told at the start of my cover date that I may have to send me black box back, my insurance has now ended and I thought, im sure I have to send my black box back, despite reviving no information on how to do so, anyway I spoke with someone on their online chat and she told me there was no need to send my black box and I can recycle it myself, which I did, only to get an email 2 weeks after my insurance ended saying you haven’t sent your box back, you will be charged!!!

Absolutely Appalling! Avoid
Appalling company to deal with!
We insured our daughter's car with Ingenie, it became apparent in April she would go over her miles before the end of her policy - so long before she was anywhere near exceeding her miles we paid a substantial amount of money on top of what had already been paid for her premium to add extra miles to the policy. It is now August - she has exceeded the mileage on her policy and despite contacting Ingenie numerous times by webchat and on the telephone her mileage still hasn't updated on the app. We have raised a complaint but were told they couldnt guarantee we would get a call back and if not, we would receive a letter in 6-8 weeks! What use is this when she is over her mileage and unable to use her car (which she needs for work and university I might add) despite paying for additional mileage and on top of already trying to sort the matter since April - 4 months ago!!

The cheapest insurance for me
The cheapest insurance for me, but the customers service was useless (expletive wouldn’t let me post review) and there paid cover breakdown addition left me stranded at the roadside

First policy (new driver)
Took out my first policy with this company has a email confirmation to say I was insurance with policy number 6 days later I had a phone call to say there was a “system error” and I hadn’t been insured the whole time couldn’t explain why it took them 6 days to call and tell me absolutely shocking service

Military Avoid
I was an ingenie customer for 3 years, I got deployed overseas and because I wasn't driving my car they actually used this as a reason to cancel my insurance. I had to pay a cancellation bill and now the cost of insuring with other insurers has gone up by almost 50%. Cost me hundreds of pounds for something that shouldn't have been a problem. Avoid avoid avoid. Faceless, robotic and inhuman.

Great customer service
Was a slight problem at the start, the next day we rang them and an advisor named Bridget was very helpful and sorted out all of the problems. It was really nice to experience great customer service, thank you.

Poor rude customer service
I've previously been a happy Ingenie customer but won't be renewing my policy with Ingenie when it expires in September.
I suddenly out of the blue yesterday received an email warning me that my policy was about to be cancelled as I had driven too many miles. They claim they sent me warnings which I never received. They were unwilling to even reduce the ridiculous £30 admin fee they charged on top of the cost of buying new miles.
When I was trying to work out how many miles I needed to buy, I asked the Ingenie live chat assistant "Madeline" how many miles on average I'd have available if I topped my policy up by x amount (they know how many I bought and how many I have already driven so they can easily work out how much a top up would give me) to be told "only you know how many miles you will drive" completely missing the point of my question.
I did ask a different live chat assistant if they'd be willing to waive the admin fee given I've been an Ingenie customer for 3 years and would happily stay with them, but they were unwilling to do so, as their system claims I was sent email warnings in May which I never received.
I won't be an ingenie customer when my policy expires.
