The customer is NOT always right!
I ordered a small item from Ironmongery Plus on 02/03/2026 on 2-3 day delivery terms and was disappointed that it had not arrived by 06/03/2026. On phoning a very pleasant and efficient member of staff called Andrew on 06/03/2026, he emailed me POD in the form of a photo to say the parcel had been delivered on 04/03/2026. Sure enough the goods were in my safe delivery Hippo Box all along and I had failed to notice it! This company obviously excels in many ways and I look forward to placing more orders with them in future.

Great service
I contacted Ironmongery Plus for door furniture when replacing 16 doors at home. I spoke to Andrew who was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, providing some samples the next day for me to make final decisions. Everything arrived very quickly and with no issues. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Confused messages in
Emailed company to verify some measurements, very quick reply confirming I was ordering the right mechanism. Only worry was that once ordered I was emailed to say it wouldn’t be available from supplier for 6-8 weeks.
I replied explaining how disappointed/ frustrated I was - only to receive another email saying I would receive the item the following day. This did happen, well done Ironmongery Plus.

Hi Stephen, we will look at the options for changing our process when replying to technical queries prior to an order. Our reply could have indicated the stock position, saving the frustration. On the other hand we will trawl the market if our usual supplier does not have stock. This is what happened in your case.

No stock but customer service was good
Ordered intumescent strips but was told after ordering that they were on a delay of 6/8 weeks. However I was refunded quickly hence the three stars.

Apologies for not having your particular item in stock. We work with some 30+ suppliers. Some provide live interfaces to their available stock, but some do not. This makes it impossible for us to provide a consistent "live" view on stock on our website, so we rely on regular batch updates.
We check every order as soon as we receive it to check the stock, and to look for alternative suppliers if it is unavailable.
If we cannot source the item from our own stock or any of our supplier contacts we make the customer aware of the situation, and offer a full refund. This is what happened with your particular order.
