JD Gyms in Ipswich advertised spinning…
JD Gyms in Ipswich advertised spinning classes; none were available. Customer service was unresponsive and offered no solutions. Cancelled due to misleading marketing and lack of respect for members. Not recommended.

Hi - Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. At Ipswich we do not offer Spin classes and the class timetable is shown on the JD Gyms website. We do have a range of classes available, from Yoga to Zumba! We are sorry to hear this is not what you were looking for, and wish you all the best in your fitness journey.

Linzi’s classes!
Joined JD Gyms a few months ago, me and my partner always go to Linzi’s class, she’s excellent and I highly recommend her!! So happy she’s doing more classes!!

Better gyms available in Ipswich!
Joined this gym when it opened and it was great at first but it feels the standards have slipped.
Nothing for members to clean benches with after use which has led to sweat stains on most things and not many people put weights back because most staff just stand by the door on their phone.
Classes are inconsistent, I use to really enjoy the morning circuit classes with James but other coaches didn't have much enthusiasm at all, and sometimes they wouldn't even turn up to do the class!!
Won't be returning to JD gym anytime soon.

Really great gym with a lot of…
Really great gym with a lot of equipment, fantastic dedicated glute area and gender specific saunas. Really impressed with how clean the toilets always are too.
The only downside (and quite a serious one at that) is that the changing rooms lock at a certain time. Apparently there’s meant to be an announcement beforehand but I have yet to hear one. Last week I left my bag in the changing room and the doors locked automatically at 8pm. I had my house and car keys in my bag and was told by security there was nothing they could do and I had to come back in the morning. It is very alarming to me that a massive chain like JD has no emergency access technology, as there should be a duty of care to your customers. I was lucky that I live within walking distance of the gym, I left my windows open and my neighbour had a ladder so I could climb into my house and get my spare keys. Otherwise I would have been forced to sleep in the gym. As a young woman that is not safe. You really need to consider the safety implications of such archaic policies.

Hello Cheylan! Thanks for leaving us some feedback, we are very sorry that you were in that situation in our new Ipswic gymh, especially after the amazing words you said about the other facilities.
We are a 24-hour gym in Ipswich, but due to there being less staff on duty throughout the night, areas which are not covered by CCTV are closed t for the safety of our members (i.e. the main changing rooms and saunas).
We do however leave the accessible changing room open at all times, as well as there being lockers for you to use. If you need to get changed or grab a shower during the night, that option is there for you and you'll have complete privacy in there.
Can we suggest that you contact the management team in Ipswich onn ipswich@jdgyms.co.uk and ask them to give you an example of the tannoy and the timings of it for you to be familiar with it during your late night sessions.

The gym that makes you go mmmh ( in a good way)
The gym is more than fully equipped and has got loads and loads of stations..the best part is that even during peak hours you will still be able to get your workout done.
The only thing perhaps and not a killer is maybe have wet wipe stations/disinfectant so that one can be able to clean up before using a station. Not a buzz killer but would be a great add on.

Well equipped gym which could…
Well equipped gym which could accommodate huge number of people but not considering enough space for warm up or cool down especially if you have special circumstances. I would suggest keeping the class area opened all the time as it is secured with cameras 24/7, why not?
