I just used two power banks at Watford…

I just used two power banks at Watford General Hospital. When I returned them, one of them didn’t initially register as “returned “. However I contacted the customer service online and within 15 seconds they responded to me (I wasn’t expecting the speed of response at all on a Saturday night, I was thinking “typical, they won’t reply to me for 1-2 days”). They asked me for a few pictures and within 15 minutes they fixed the issue. Just due to the speed and effectiveness of the response, it prompted me to leave a good review. Also it charges fast.

They Steal Your Money

3rd UPDATE:
12 months later and Joos are still attempting to take this money even though they have, acknowledged it is not due.

STAY AWAY FROM JOOS.

2nd UPDATE:

Multiple attempts have been made to take the money but have been unsuccessful as the card has been frozen.

They have attempted to take money to which they have no legal entitlement but are conveniently ignoring this in their response.

UPDATE :
Joos still refusing to refund the money.

Pretending to care in their response.

If you don't want to be subject to national bad press, Joos, refund all the money you've taken fraudulently.

You know there's a problem, you acknowledge machines are faulty on this website.

Make those refunds today!

Have reported to Trading Standards and Police.

Also have a friend who is an investigative journalist for national media who is interested in getting more evidence of the hundreds, potentially thousands of people, this company is stealing money from.

This company claims chargers have not been returned (with no evidence and despite knowing this is a persistent fault).

Do not use this company.

No payment has actually been taken from your account. There is an outstanding balance, but we have not charged you for this amount.

We understand this situation has been frustrating, and we sincerely apologise for any confusion our previous communications may have caused. To recap and clarify:

1, The only charge processed was the initial £3 rental fee.
2, The remaining £27 is showing as an outstanding balance but has not been collected.
3, We are actively working on a system solution to resolve this discrepancy without requiring any action on your part.

We take your concerns about fraudulent practices very seriously. We want to assure you that we have not taken any money fraudulently, nor do we intend to. Our goal is to resolve this issue fairly and transparently.

I would not use it again!!! paid £5 and didnt even charged my phone! absolutely shocking customer service , complained and they expected me to pay again for new power bank! no apologies or anything like that. shocking! stay away!

SCAM SCAM SCAM

SCAM SCAM SCAM. I rented a powerbank at the weekend for 45 minutes and returned it, costing £3.96
It subsequently charged me an additional £30 two days later. Customer service on the app first said I did return it, then changed their story and said I didn't return it, or didn't return it properly and someone must have stolen it. Then decided I actually rented two. Refused to refund and just told lie after lie. Worst part is this isn't the first time it happened. The first time I thought it was because i had somehow returned it wrong, buy 2 times?! All the other reviews agreed this service is a scam, and customer services refuse to do anything about it.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs, once you return the power bank they don’t register it and charge you an additional £30.

When you contact live support they make unreasonable requests to “prove” you returned the bank.

Very quick to respond via the chat with us feature on their website, Friendly polite and very helpful non judgemental also informative , Was worried when on my part made an error in returning the charger , However was given full instructions on how to return in future and feel comfortable now with the company.

They will block your money for week amd on top of it they will charge another money for using. I really dont understand why it is neccessary to block 30 euros for week ?

The €30 is just a temporary hold, not an actual charge. Think of it as a safety deposit - it's there to make sure our power banks find their way back home. Once you return the power bank, we tell your bank right away to release the hold.

Here's where it gets a bit tricky: some banks are super quick and release the funds immediately, while others might take 3-5 days. It's not ideal, we know, but it's out of our hands once we've given the green light.

The actual charge you see? That's just for using the power bank. We try to keep it as reasonable as we can.

1st time using the power bank

1st time using the power bank, thank you worked out great . I did worry a bit when I first checked the bank as they had charged me £30 on top off my £4.92 fee . After they explained it was a holding deposit to make sure I returned the power bank.annd the money was released. Everything worked out okay. Great service

Useful service - recommend highly.

Useful service, I used a charger from London Bridge when I had got to London from Kent as the train plugs weren’t working and my phone ran out of battery.

Managed to follow the instructions (very clear and straight forward) on the screen of the big vending machine.

Then I used my card to pay and had the charger for 24 hours before I returned it to a pub in SW.

Great service, useful and helpful information on initial purchase - couldn’t recommend more.

Really easy to use and I was able to return the charging bank back to a local site which was helpful as I had forgot to return it from where I was located! I was charged a total of £6!

Don’t use this service

Don’t use this service. I had to take my daughter to A&E and left without a charger. My wife and I used Joos for the evening - 4 hours and returned when we left the hospital. Her pack registered as returned properly and she was charged accordingly. Mine wasn’t and I was charged £30. Customer service really poor, basically said I didn’t return it in the necessary steps and there is nothing they can do.

While in hospital waiting for 10 hrs I had to top my phone battery up, this was the first time I had seen Joos so I used it, due to a misunderstanding on my behalf I paid over the odds, I contacted Joos and with very little effort they sorted me out and arranged for my refund over the tariff to be reimbursed with no trouble at all, very good
