After a request by my Father for us to discuss his health & wellbeing needs of the future, the family decided to investigate the different routes towards implementing a Legal Power of Attorney. We looked at different options including via our family solicitor, online, in person (via Zoom) with a specialist and also directly on the Gov.uk website. After examining what was required and learning that it isn't the most challenging support tool to put in place, we decided we wanted to use a process where we had as much input as possible AND access to advice if we needed it - but without paying the £1000+ a solicitor would charge for both documents.

We settled on Kwil after speaking to Justin who was simply outstanding in his advice and generosity with his time. He understood that we were working with my Dad as a family unit and that this process was about securing my Dad's rights & preferences for him going forward. Justin's guidance proved invaluable in completing the form and in ensuring we had selected all the options that were correct for our Dad.

The fee charged by Kwil is a reasonable amount of money for a really high quality service. The website makes it very easy to select what you need from the LPA and allows you to navigate between the two types (Financial or Health) and save and come back as you progress.

The final printout provides you with the Government form completed as intended with opportunity to go back and change anything the Donor or Attorney's want to amend before finally sending the document off to the Office of the Public Guardian for registration of the LPA.

Just to be clear, it is possible to go direct to the Gov.uk website and use the digital service yourself thus saving you the fee that Kwil charge. But if you want some extra support and guidance, then I recommend Kwil and their team. You will make a substantial saving compared to using a lawyer and will also have access to the advice you need.

If you're not sure what you need from an LPA, telephone Kwil and explain your needs and they will advise you. One doesn't pay for the service until you get to the very end of the process, so it really is a win/win situation as if you feel at any point you're not happy with the service, you can end your process right there and then without paying. I'm sure that won't happen as the service we received from Justin and his colleagues was superb.
