can't use my debit card abroad
Every time I go to use my debit card abroad it blocks me saying suspected fraud, the last time I couldn't get access to funds for three days as it was a bank Holiday weekend and they only work 9 to 5 weekdays. Use as a savings account not a bank.

Absolute rubbish bank
Absolute rubbish bank. Can’t contact anyone, only through email. Then have to wait days for a reply. No direct debits, can’t pay cash in. What’s the point. Made a payment to my Son which took 5 days to process. Completely useless. Closed now

Unable to transfer money out of the account
I had money saved in one of their bonds, now that it has matured and I am trying to transfer the money out, the transfer just doesn't happen. I have tried multiple times over the last 3 days and I am unable to transfer any money out of my account. I would like access to my funds as soon as possible, and the customer service process does not help either. Have to reach out to them via email with no standard response times.

You’re right that you can add your physical LHV Debit Card to Apple Pay and use your iPhone for contactless payments.
A virtual card works like a regular debit card, but it lives in the LHV app rather than your wallet. It has its own card number and is linked to your LHV bank account, so spending comes directly from your available balance.
You can use it for online shopping and subscriptions, or add it to your mobile wallet to pay in person using your phone or smartwatch.

I have been a recipient of this bank…
I have been a recipient of this bank gross misconduct.
I am not an account holder with lhv but did make a transfer of 16,900 GBP since the 3rd of April 2026 to a lhv business account, Melon Technologies Limited, with account ending 4855. A payment made to a colleague have known for over 7years, towards a fintech start up. Upon receiving this payment, lhv denied the account holder access to the funds. He could access other funds but just the 16,900, He contacted his account officer, Marcelo, who told him its normal aml check and should be concluded within days. It didn't take days, its over 4 months now and this bank has said nothing about this fund. I have sent my ID, proof of the said transfer made from my bank app with Virgin mobile, with my name as the sender, matching the name on my ID. The account holder has sent all needed documentations. Not only has this action caused severe distress to my mental state, but has in no small measure affected our business operational roll out. In my years of banking, have never experience such anomaly or known anyone that has. In one of the reviews in trustpilot, there have been allegations of this bank using customers funds to trade under the disguise of conducting routine check, this further proves the allegation is true and it is totally unacceptable. I hope the management do the needful, for this has gone far too long.

Very Poor Support ! Unreliable
The experience so far hasn’t been good. I opened the account in June 2026 and it’s already Aug 2026, and my account application is still under review. While I can understand reviewing details could take a few days, the problem is they ask for information and once I provide it, they disappear for weeks and then come back later with single email asking for more, and this has happened multiple times already over the past 1 months which is frustrating. There is no phone number to ring, a request to call back was totally ignored. I’m very skeptical about the level of customer service and communication this bank has with retail customers. Beware! It is fine as long as it is working for you but should there be any problem, be prepared to wait for weeks or MONTHS!
