Connectivity unreliable and left in the dark.

So for two years the lights looked good, we bought a z strip for my daughters bed, there was connectivity problems throughout but we lived with those (we have a very strong WiFi connection in the house so we know it wasn't that). Then we unplugged the lights once to move the bed and that was that, we contacted customer support as we bought the lights direct from LiFx and although they are polite nothing they suggested worked and they just state they are out of warranty (by a couple of months). My 5 year old is upset and we are hugely disappointed as the lights are very expensive for what you get. We have 8 lifx lights around the house and all of them have had connectivity issues at random but frequent times. We also have philips hue lights and they work everytime, so my recommendation is don't try the smaller company, you might think you will get a better service but you won't.

Try Another Brand

There is nothing intuitive about this app. I recommend looking into other brands. I consider myself tech savvy, and I think the app functionality (and setup process) is unnecessarily confusing, and therefore a waste of time. They can do better.

Lifx light bulbs are extremely bad

Lifx light bulbs are extremely unreliable. Seems to work for a short time after an initial setup but a few hours later disappears from the LAN. My WIFI scanner doesn't even detect this product. Every time I want to turn on or off this device I must reset it and do another setup, where it will again work for a short time. If you are going to spend a lot of money on a light bulb then avoid this product.

The LIFX App is by far the WORST EVER

The LIFX App (both iOS and Android) is by far the very worst software I have ever had the displeasure of trying to use, over more than 40 years of being a very savvy computer geek. It deserves ALL of the scathing negative reviews from desperately frustrated users. It truly is that bad, and worse.

I am looking forward to smashing all 4…

I am looking forward to smashing all 4 of my LIFX bulbs and finally freeing myself of the massive burden of constant software updates that render the product unusable every time until I spend worthless hours troubleshooting to finally get it to work. Ultimately they still constantly fail to connect and I have to reset and start the whole process over again. LIFX bulbs have been one of the worst banes I have ever experienced in my whole life. I highly recommend NEVER putting yourself in this constant rabbit hole of troubleshooting that will NEVER end.

LIFX bulbs...absolute junk

I should have read the reviews here before I bought so many of these stupid bulbs at such high price!

At first these bulbs worked so nice that I liked them so much and bought about 20 of these bulbs and now almost half of them don't work and the LIFX support guys keep asking where is the original receipt with the serial numbers etc. How can one keep track of receipts for every bulb you buy for over years! Now they say that they can't repair or provide a replacement. Their warrant also changes over time and this has been a dead investment for me loosing so much money thinking that these bulbs will last at least 4-5 years. I'd absolutely not recommend anyone these bulbs and someone should file a class action suit against this company as they're cheating everyone.

Lifx STOLE $800 from me

I've been a loyal customer of Lifx for years - I'm remodeling my home and I ordered over $1,500 worth of lights and switches. They sent me half of the order and the other half was a pre-order.

When Lifx was purchased by Feit they canceled my pre-order without notice and when I tried to return my now useless switches, they told me that I had to send a letter to the former owner. No email address, no phone number, just a letter. Every letter that I've sent has gone unanswered.

I've contacted customer "support" and they won't help me. I can't believe Lifx would treat such a loyal customer this way. DO NOT buy their products. Feit will destroy what's left of that company.

I bought two of the $55 lightbulb…

I bought two of the $55 lightbulb version. They lasted a couple years which is OK but one of them failed after three years. I wrote an email to Customer Service asking do you really expect me to pay another $55 for a new bulb? They responded that they could give me a discount but then said their website wasn’t set up for the purchase. I keep getting emails saying that they’re working on the problem. It’s been going on for a couple months.

I once loved my LIFX products

I once loved my LIFX products. That was until their firmware update killed two of my switches. Their customer service is the worst. It's been 5 days and I can't turn lights on in my kitchen, dining and outdoor areas. They take days to respond and when they finally do, it's simply to ask the next question on their long checklist. It's ridiculous. I wanted to support them, their products were great but I feel that since they were bought out their service and offering has plummeted. I think it's time to switch completely over to another range.

customer service is total bottom, they make such a confusion that I will never say again, I will never buy this crap again. post-warranty service second evil. the online store is cheating. It shows the availability of the product all the time and they do not have it in stock and they allow you to cheat buyers. scammers !!!

Truly the worst product I’ve ever used — DO NOT BUY. The lights do not work and customer support only provides insane advice that the average person doesn’t understand. If a product doesn’t work, replace it or refund. PERIOD.

Same as basically all the one star reviews you've already read. Best lights. Worst support. Once I changed my wifi router, everything stopped working properly. Can't access lights groups locations etc. except via the mobile app and capabilities DO NOT INCLUDE the ability to reset groups and locations. Resetting the lights doesn't solve the grouping and location issues. And yeah, someone emailed me from lifx trying to figure out the problem that way. They said unscrew all your lights and send me the seriall numbers. Then send us the diagnostics from the app. I was like, "nah." I would rather deal with the lights/continue to try and figure this out on my own.

ABSOLUTELY USELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE, I AM SO ANGRY, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I bought ten of these lights and they worked fine until I moved and now cannot get them to connect and there is no help. $800 down the drain. The irony of it is the light colours and design is better than any others including Hue but I wouldn't touch this company with a ten foot pole after such lousy support. They take your money and run.

Customer service and support is non existent

I purchased 28 lights in total 4 years ago when LIFX lights were top of the line. The LIFX Z strips are pure junk and I have 8 of them. Back in the day if you had any issues LIFX was on top of it and resolved your issue quickly. Now their support process is set up to constantly ask you for more and more information and log files over the course of a few months in order to make you give up and ditch the lights and buy new ones. Don’t! They have the best color lights on the market but the customer service and support is so terribly bad that it makes owning the lights not worth it. Much more of a headache to deal with LIFX than it’s worth unless you have a ton of extra time to work with them. Buyer beware… buy cheaper brand lights and when they go bad you can buy four or five of these lights for one LIFX light. It’s really yo bad as once upon a time LIFX was the best! Now they are below average and one of the most expensive lights on the market.

Won’t connect to wifi. Very poor customer service

We’ve had several LIFX bulbs over the years. Based on the company’s literature and on our usage of 4 hours per day, the bulbs should last more than 10 years.
After less than half that time, the bulbs still switch on via the wall switch but they no longer connect to wifi.
Apart from sending me a standard set of instructions, Lifx customer services aren’t interested in helping at all. I offered to send the bulbs back so that they could check to see what the problem is, but they aren’t interested and are refusing to help further.
Very frustrating, particularly given the price of the bulbs.
Not recommended.

Worst customer service

The product works ok most of the time but once you get trouble, it’s over.
Customer service is terrible. It is the worst customer service ever. They don’t help you anything.
I do not buy anything from LIFX anymore.
