Another victim of the pre-order…
Another victim of the pre-order perennials scam here. I purchased a few plants on 1st December with March delivery stated. I chased in April and received polite comms apologizing the for the delay. Still further delay and plants received on 9th May. After reading reviews here, i was prepared for the worst and yep, it was bad. Bare root plants tied in plastic bags, rotten roots - dead. I'm talking slimy, stinky bits of rot with well oversaturated substrate. A great way to transport pond plants with fast delivery i'm sure but someone didn't get the memo on the non-aquatic plants. A Euphorbia was bone dry, brittle dead matter. A good look for a Euphorbia in May? Hardly. I dropped LPP a line and got the same as others. Yes, i know they are bare root. I bought them as bare root. I have purchased bare root from many others in the past. I lift plants myself and store them as dormant. I get how it works. As for 3 litres comparable size? Forget about it, but i'd settle for tiny and not dead! Apparently, their 'greenhouse specialist' confirms from my pics that they are alive - see my google review to make your own mind up. Again, as with others, i was offered a refund if i returned them but i'm not posting rotten bits of organic matter and wouldn't trust i'd get the refund, let alone the return postage since dishonesty comes so naturally to this business. Malvern recently, Chelsea next. What are they doing?!! It seems to me that they are very good at what they do with pond plants and can't afford to refund after their large-scale perennial plan went wrong. So, if you're reading this, and considering buying from them, please don't. If you're reading this and have been in the same situation as me, remember that there are many nurseries who sell plants online that delivery quality, as described plants on time. Their prices were low (as bare roots usually are) but too good to be true this time.

A number of points you’ve raised are serious and we take them seriously, including:
* extended delay beyond the original timeframe
* condition of plants on arrival
* concerns about viability of bare-root stock
* and dissatisfaction with how your complaint was handled
Bare-root plants can vary in appearance depending on species and season, but they should always arrive in a healthy, viable dormant state and not in a deteriorated or non-viable condition. If what you received did not meet that standard, we understand your frustration.
We also recognise your concerns around the request to return items and your confidence in the resolution process. That level of trust is important, and we’re sorry that has been affected.
Your feedback has been noted and will be escalated for internal review, particularly around pre-order fulfilment, quality control, and complaint handling.

Your have ignored virtually all of my complaint, because you cannot contradict them.
I contacted The Horticultural Trade Association only to find out you are not a member.

Your complaint raised a number of separate issues regarding delays, communication, missing items, plant quality, and the handling of refunds and replacements. We are not attempting to dismiss or avoid those points, and we appreciate you taking the time to detail them so fully.

Disappointed
Some of the plants I received were in terrible condition. Three have since died despite my attempts to nurture them. I reached out to their customer service and was told they’d be fine. They weren’t. I’m extremely disappointed in the quality of plants I received and the customer service.

I ordered a set of plants for my pond from Lincs Plants. They arrived promptly, well packaged, and alive. The only minor issue I had was there was no real information regarding what exactly the plants were. Otherwise the service was excellent and I'd order again.

227 Days order placed until order refund.
• Placed a pre-order for geranium plants on 27th Septrmber 2025. Refunded for order on 12th May 2026.
• After hearing nothing for a long period, I chased the order and was told the plants were being dispatched.
• When they failed to arrive, “O.” in customer service explained that although a delivery label had been generated, the plants had not actually been sent — apparently an issue they had experienced before.
• I was then informed by “S.L.” that the plants were not of suitable quality and would no longer be supplied, and that a refund would be issued.
• The refund had to be chased several times.
Ms “ S.L. “ did not reply to my two emails requesting a refund.
“O.” eventually arranged repayment directly back onto my card.
• I appreciate that stock and quality problems can happen, but the overall handling of the situation felt very matter-of-fact, with little apology, reassurance, or goodwill shown.
• No effort was made to offer replacement stock at a later date.
• Although this was just a small order, the experience has left me very hesitant about placing a larger order with the company in future due to possible organisational issues.
Disappointing.

While we appreciate your understanding regarding stock and quality issues, we recognise that the communication, delays, and handling of the refund did not meet the level of service you reasonably expected. We also understand your frustration at having to repeatedly chase updates and repayment.
Our intention in withholding unsuitable plants was to avoid sending stock we did not feel met an acceptable standard, but we accept that this should have been communicated more clearly, proactively, and with greater care and reassurance throughout.

Well ! What A Con
Well what a con ! Ordered various plants ranging from 1 litre to 3 litre in January 2026.
Eventually a parcel arrived this week there were small plastic bags inside, with very small (about half the size of a teaspoons), containing minute, dead, crispy dry bare root plants.
Surely this selling practice is against the Trades Description Act.
BE WARNED, you won’t get what you paid for.
The Facebook page appears to have been deleted, as adverse comments were mounting up on there.
*16 May 2026 * I have NOT had plants delivered so would be very interested in seeing the photos!
Bare root plants were NOT what you advertised ! I do have screen shots of my order if you would like to see those.

Good morning, I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with your order. All of our plants are supplied as dormant bare root pond plants during the appropriate season, which is clearly stated within the product descriptions. Pond plants naturally die back during winter and early spring, so they can often appear small or dormant on arrival before regrowth begins once placed in water and warmer conditions.
I have checked the order and the parcel was delivered within the expected transit timeframe. From the photographs provided, the plants do not appear dead, but dormant, which is normal for this time of year. We certainly do not intend to mislead customers and always aim to describe our products as accurately as possible.
However, if you remain unhappy with the plants received, you are more than welcome to return them to us and we will be happy to review the order for a refund upon return.
Appalling quality plants
Appalling quality plants. I pre-ordered these last autumn for arrival this March. No sign of them in April and promise delivery which then didn't occur and chased again. I ordered a selection of 3 litre and 1 litre plants. What arrived was a pitiful selection of dried up and rotten plants a few with a sign of growth but overall closer to dead than alive. They were all the same size and not one of them was bigger 5cm across, I could fit one of them easily in the cupped palm of my hand and some of them even tinier. Over a series of emails I contacted customer services with a photograph and a request for refund. I was told that the 3 litre plants We're so called because they would grow to be 3 litres. That has to be either highly evasive or very misleading. Customer service took days to respond and in one case up to a week. I was refused to refund on the basis that the manager had seen signs of growth on the plants and therefore they were considered healthy... I leave you to make up your own mind about the pitiful specimens included in the photograph below. Would you be happy with 3 litre plants, delivered over a month after the due date and after having to chase several times and to find them delivered in plastic bags partly rotted, partly shrivelled and clinging on to life? I would believe the negative reviews that are both here, on Google and elsewhere.

During the dormant season, aquatic plants are supplied as bare root stock and may arrive without visible top growth. While they can appear small on arrival, they are intended to establish once planted in suitable pond conditions. That said, we understand your concerns regarding size, condition on arrival, and the delay in delivery and communication, and we appreciate how disappointing this must have been after a pre-order.
We would like the opportunity to put this right. Please contact us directly so we can review your order in full and offer an appropriate resolution, which may include replacement or refund depending on your preference.
