Avoid
I bought a car from this dealership in April, and initially I couldn’t fault the service. The purchase process was smooth, and everything seemed great at first.
Unfortunately, within a couple of weeks it became clear the car had a serious fault. It struggled to reach 20mph on even a slight hill and felt like it was misfiring. I arranged for them to inspect and repair it. They had the car from Monday to Thursday, but I received no communication or updates during that time. When I collected it, the fault was still clearly present.
To their credit, they offered to swap the vehicle for a different one, and so far I’ve had no issues with the replacement.
However, a much bigger problem followed. A few weeks later, I started receiving Penalty Charge Notices for the period when the dealership had possession of my original car for repairs. Their dealership is in North London, yet the tickets were issued in Southwark and near Buckingham Palace while the vehicle was supposedly with them.
I contacted them immediately to ask them to deal with the fines. I was advised to appeal them first, which I did, but both appeals were rejected. The dealership then assured me they would pay the penalties themselves. This was in May.
In early June, I received further correspondence showing the fines were still unpaid and had increased due to non-payment. I contacted the dealership again. My messages were often ignored, although my phone calls were answered and I was repeatedly assured that payment had been made. I asked several times for payment reference numbers but never received them.
Fast forward to now, and I have had to begin legal proceedings through the Small Claims Court to recover approximately £500 relating to the two unpaid penalty notices.
It’s disappointing because my experience started very positively, but the lack of communication, failure to follow through on repeated assurances, and the fact I’ve had to pursue legal action have completely overshadowed the good service I initially received
