MakerBot Avis 136

I have so many problems/issues, I don't know where to start.

I have NEVER had success with this printer. So many issues from constant filament slips and jams, constantly recalibrating the z-axis, or filament stops extruding in the middle of print. Right now, the filament won't load. It seems it's clogged at the nozzle. The filament goes all the way to the nozzle and I know that because I've pinched the two clips together on the side and I can get the filament to go through that part. I've had maybe 2 successful prints in the short 5 hours I've used it since November. I won't use this MakerBot because it's so unreliable and un-trustworthy and I don't have hours to constantly trouble-shoot.

To be honest, I have 2 PolyPrinters here on campus that are work-horses and never give me issues. I would never invest in a Makerbot again.

I am a high school teacher that uses MakerBot in his designs classes. We own 5 printers at this time. Our MakerBot mini has not worked right since we bought it a year ago. The thing I find most discouraging about MakerBot is with its assistance and repair policies. I don't feel I should have to pay another sum of money to get technical assistance. Then on repairs you have to buy a policy for each machine to cover repairs. Schools don't have the money to spend on these things. Also I don't like the fact that if I send my unit in I get a reconditioned printer back. As far as use of machines and printing it as good as it gets. Our MakerBot Replicator + has been flawless.

Products are easy to use and teach with. Warranties are very good because of budget constraints.

I've enjoyed working with MakerBot the last two years. They have always been prompt bin communications and feedback.

I work in a middle school, and we currently have six makerbot's. We have run them for three years and I have not had to have any service done to any of them. There are periods of the year where we run them from 6 a.m. till 10 p.m. I have been very impressed with their durability.

Z18 printer is over priced and yield an uneven surface through out the build.

Been waiting on improvements to the software to resolve these issues.but nothing substantial. I'm very disappointing considering the options that are available in the market place.I thought MakerBot was the best.

Makerbot is a great printer! It is a little slower than I expected and I was disappointed that Makerbot PrintShop is no longer supported. It is very easy to use. We printed Christmas ornamaments with 140 students with little problems. I would recommend.

Customer service is a pain! It took days to get a response! Also the products have lots of issues. I own 2 makerbots and they are nothing but trouble. :(

I have recommended you to many. I have very limited knowledge of 3D printing, but your support people have walked me through the process and made the mini+ a very friendly, usable piece of equipment for my library and students.

The sales representative was helpful, informative, and patient. We were seeeking funding for the 3D printer to use in our school and the sales representative gave us was extremely responsive even though it took us nearly a year to make the purchase. The printer has worked wonderfully! We have been very pleased throughout the process.

Love this printer! it's so easy to use! I love the ease of switching to the tough PLA and changing filament is a pleasure compared to our previous 3D printer that looked like a big white cube. that's why I have three of them know!

I have used the Makerbot 5th gen for several years now. countless hours of printing, dozens of spools of plastic and it just works. Consistently and reliably print after print. I even do small production runs on it. I love it.

Makerbot has the best customer service they are there for you long after the sale. Everyone I’ve worked with was very knowledgeable on both the products and troubleshooting the few minor problems I’ve had of which were caused by my own mistakes. Very courteous and patient people. I hope that never changes.

Makerbot is an OK 3D printing company. The tech support is not as helpful as they probably should be. I am glad Stratasys bought them because before they were worse.
