Their payment flow is misleading, you enter payment details just to view the menu, which secretly locks you into a weekly subscription without clear consent. I cancelled immediately, but they still charged me and refused a refund. They rely on tricking customers rather than selling a good product. Avoid completely.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER

I used Marley Spoon for one delivery and then canceled my subscription. About four months later I received a random box from them and discovered they had charged my credit card $126.00. Also, I can't use these ready-to-eat type meals due to food allergies. They said that my account was only paused and not canceled. (Not true.) I filed a dispute with my credit card and they agreed to refund me $100.00 if I closed the dispute which I did. They have refunded me nothing and, in fact, charged my card again. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!! The first communication with them was January 1st. It's almost April and they haven't refunded me or taken the second charge off my account.

Buyer beware I wouldn’t order any food from these people. I experienced a disgusting experience. I don’t know this to be true but I believe it’s the same company with different names. That’s why they have only three stars.

Took me to the debt collectors for 130

Took me to the debt collectors for 130. I have proof that they said they would cover this as I had to cancel my order due to health condition. They are now not responding to my emails. I have to say their communication is getting so much worse.

Delivery never showed up

I had the week from hell, so I ordered Marley Spoon to relieve the burden of planning and shopping for meals. Box was supposed to arrive 00:00-07:00 on a Monday. By Monday evening it had not arrived. On Tuesday morning I phoned Marley Spoon (they don't advertise their phone number on their website, but you can find it) and was told the box was coming 11.30-14.00. Guess what? It never came. I called again, and was told it would come on Wednesday - i.e. more than 48 hours after the original time - who knows what the state of the food will be? That's where I am now.

The people I have spoken to on the phone are very nice and do their best to help. This is a company problem with lack of systems. Why is it too difficult to have a delivery update when something is going to be late?

Pathetic, and I will not order from them again.

Signed up and disappointed with delivery

Signed up, selected delivery between midnight and 7am. Delivered the following day around 4pm, twice. Website offers 2 delivery times but apparently the delivery company only offer one slot, 7am to 7pm which in this day and age is ridiculous. Phoned Marley Spoon to cancel. They at least apologised. Too hot to be leaving food out in Adelaide even in a chilled box.

The Worst Service compared to other alternatives.s a first time order to wait all day…

As a first time order to wait all day to eventually getting a txt msg at 1800hrs saying on its way but the tracking information says cancelled!! What rubbish service will not be recommending this company nor be using it ever again.

Most meals are bland, and the product is NEVER fresh. Often receive rotten produce, garlic that's grown legs etc. I always report these issues and get no response. Tried calling them, they just keep you on hold indefinitely until you give up.
Also really bad for people with allergies or lactose intolerance, it seems there's no way to order food that has flavor and also allergy friendly.

First time using Marley spoon- rotten chicken

First time using Marley Spoon and I went to cook my first meal- chilli chicken noodles and open the chicken to fine a massive section of the chicken was green, mould and rotten which completely put me off as I don’t understand how this would pass quality control!

Very disappointed as went through the reporting issues process and given a generated message and $10 off next box voucher…

Unfortunately I’m not going to be giving Marley Spoon another go!

Bland meals with low quality meats used

Honestly I've only tried 3 of the 8 meals I ordered so far and I'm incredibly disappointed. Their horrible. The meat was the biggest disappointment in these pre made meals. The chicken is either that canned diced chicken that's unusually soft and smells horrible or some frozen grilled strips. It's not freshly cooked chicken breasts as I was expecting and hoping for. The remaining meals don't look very promising at all. All meals I've tried so far were super bland and needed seasoning to be even palatable. I DO NOT recommend their premade meals at all! The only good thing I can say about them was that the portions were slightly better than competitors.

We really wanted to love this service, BUT...

We really wanted to love this service. Unfortunately, out of 4 orders, not one delivery had a complete set of ingredients. Additionally, the customer's ability to change meals ordered and/or move delivery dates/times was lacking, which resulted in receipt of amounts and types of meals that were not desired. The recipes advertised were interesting and the ingredients received were high-quality, but, unfortunately, the delivery infrastructure/mechanisms just wasn't there, which makes participation with the service costly and frustrating.

A great solution for quick and flavorful meals for one

I have tried several meal delivery services and Marley Spoon is one of the best. They all are priced about the same at $80 to $100 per week for 6 meals. I live alone so I use the prepared meals that go in the microwave for a few minutes. The presentation seems to be difficult to control during shipping and Marley Spoon does a great job. The meals are very attractive. The selection is not very broad so I end up eating what I like multiple times. Their packaging is the BEST I have seen. They have figured out how to get the same amount of food in a smaller box, thus less waste and recycling. I highly recommend Marley Spoon! My only suggestion to them is to maybe rotate several new recipes into the selection each week.

Pad Thai

I gave the pad thai a crack, but unfortunately some of the ingredients were missing and the noodles tasted a bit off. It mightve been a one-off and I just had a bad luck. The portion size was decent, but I’m not 100% sure I’d order again.

Signing up will trap you.

Wanted to try out their new single person meals. Signed up and was required to lock in my choices for a second week before I could try any of the first week!
Having tried the low cal options I have found them weirdly wasteful of ingredients and all some version of "meat with weirdly tasteless veg" something I could have made myself with no prompting.
Now I'm stuck with another week of meals I didn't like the first time on the way and nothing I can do to get out of it!

Order with another company

I can't comment on the food, but I received a delivery I didn't order. They claim I did but I escaped out of the page before completing the sale, I decided it wasn't for me. They said because I signed up with them the order went through but I DIDN'T finalise the order. They basically did it for me and stole my money.
I've now seen lots of reviews and it seems there are lots of issues with their website/app regarding cancelling, subscription etc. Customer service told me I should've cancelled the order but I didn't order it in the first place so how would I know to cancel it ? Yes they told me they emailed me the order, but I thought they were just emails because I had signed with them not an email confirming an order that I didn't make.
Look for a different company for your meals.

I cancelled twice on app after first…

I cancelled twice on app after first box but yet they send out a second after IV cancelled it now I got Dept collectors calling me for there mistake I have a pic of my conversation with there support team how rude anyone else found this cancelling but still receiveing it but no one was at property that week

Marley Spoon - EXTREME Difficulties in cancelling subscription

I signed up to Marley Spoon and tried it for one delivery, however it didn’t meet my needs. I cancelled on the website well before the required date BUT got charged anyway!!!!!! When I rang up to resolve the issue I was told that ….you have to ring to cancel…and that that specific information was clearly stated on one of their pages. I checked and it was NOT. It took me quite a directive interaction to have the transaction reversed. Someone more timid may have not be able to resolve it. This is the same issue that HELLO FRESH is currently being investigated about. I would never again sign up to an organisation who requires your financial details prior to being able to look at their food details on their website, and then uses those financial details unethically.

Five stars from newly postpartum Mum

I am a first time postpartum Mum with my four month old. Marley Spoon genuinely takes away a mental load of wondering what to cook every night. We initially trialled MS to take away the burden of cooking for myself, and also help teach Dad how to cook foods he was interested in. Well that was three months ago and we are still here week after week as it is just too convenient and truly delicious meals. I am a vegetarian, and have found MS has the most variety of all other similar meal services. Even my meat eating hubby loves the vego meals. Highly recommend!
