Don't call to register your Maytag, they basically tell you that if your application breaks they won't fix it unless you buy the monthly warranty plan. I regret buying a Maytag now

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!!!When I mean to tell you
When I mean to tell you , don’t even bother wasting your time and money !! We bought Maytag’s digital upload washer over $725 without warranty. I do laundry every Sunday just like the average person. Our washer is only 3 years old and just stopped working. We had tech service men to look at it only to tell us it would cost more to fix than the washer itself. We contacted Maytag regarding the issue and their response was, there is nothing we could do because you didn’t buy the extended warranty! Their products are junk !! Just read others reviews!! Maytag should go out of business because they are awful
Junk products
Junk products. Purchased their $1000 dishwasher in November 2022. It has spent more time being repaired than used. Every 3 months the same part breaks & I have to wait for the repair. Now maytag refused to fix (just outside the 1 year warranty), it is the SAME PART & they told us the last time it broke (December) that they would take care of it if it broke again! They also refused to replace even though it is obviously a lemon or horrible machine. We own a construction company & will never recommend their products to ANYONE
Maytag Electric Dryer
I ordered a new dryer for my disabled sister.
Maytag electric dryer MED4500MW is a horrible product.
Ordered the first dryer and had to return it. Now the second dryer will not turn off, now will have to return this one. I will never purchase another Maytag product.
Maytag , what happened to your products. They used to be very dependable, now just junk.
Buyer Beware
If I could give them a zero I would!! We’ve had nothing but issues with our washer. The motor was fried after having it for a month. It was replaced with a brand new unit - aka another piece of garbage. Our second washer has had a broken detergent drawer and a cracked lid twice. We’ve spent over 7+hrs on the phone with customer service. We continue to get the run around or told there’s nothing they can do - except offer me a coupon code to buy a new washer (when mine is only 3 years old). They’re unwilling to help & acknowledge that the left hinge on the lid is defective. The plastic cracks in the same spot near the left hinge and eventually shatters, making the washer unusable bc it will not lock. The lid has ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. However, it broke again after just over 1yr, so it’s not covered under the “warranty”. I’ve never been more disappointed with washer or a company. They make their product well enough to last through the 1 year warranty. Then everything breaks. I will NEVER EVER buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again!! **AVOID Maytag!!**
Top load with agitator
Our washer quit agitating/working days before our 1 year warranty was up. A technician was sent out, and said it was likely the electronic board, he replaced that and it was good for a few loads until it quit again (not agitating). He’s been here to fix it quite a few times and it works for a few loads and then quits again. I tried contacting Maytag directly and they were less than helpful and didn’t seem to care. I’m very disappointed in this product.
Worst washing machine I've ever had
Worst washing machine I've ever had, stupid water saver doesn't even cover the clothes, the Maytag Repairman said I have to trick the system and wash everything in BULKY CYCLE. I will never ever buy another Maytag and trust me, I'm telling everyone!
Maytag commercial technology washing…
Maytag commercial technology washing machine one of the worst washing machines I have ever seen in my entire life first of all it is so presumptuous and so sensitive that it has the nerve to sense what you have in there and if after it fails it bangs all over the place bang bang bang bang bang that's all you hear and then it stops it is the worst electricity waster because you constantly have to redo the clothes reposition them and then turn the machine back on and the worst part of it all if you're under 5 ft 4 you will not be able to reach and the bottom of that barrel to get your laundry out because it is so deep that they forgot to realize that people of smaller stature are not able to get the clothing out it is the worst machine I have ever seen and I do not recommend ever buying one
Maytag dryer fails at 5 years. Too expensive to fix.
Five years ago I bought a Maytag washer and dryer. The dryer is model MEDB755DW 2. It stopped working 3 weeks ago. The Maytag repairman gave me a repair quote of $650. That's more than I paid for it so I bought a new dryer-- a GE. I've never had a dryer that quit so soon.
Bought Maytag top load 9/20
Bought Maytag top load 9/20. Broke within first 6 months bad control panel after waiting months for parts not to mention weekly trips to laundromat! Broke again about 6 months later I rented a washing machine from a rent a center because parts on back order. 3rd time broke again fixed and I bought the extension warranty because the other ran out. I begged Maytag to send a new washer I had a lemon! She the rep said they had to record so many brake downs to do something!!! Monday the thing broke again f2 e2 and some other codes. I canceled the extension warranty and ordered a GE top loader. Less than 3 yrs old and it’s at the junk yard where it belongs. Don’t waste you hard earned money buy LG or Samsung.
Model number is MVW623OHWO
They Only Want to Sell Insurance on Appliances
Don't buy their appliances as they only warranty them for 1 year and for the whole year they try to sell extra insurance and then I just got an offer to buy 1 extra year of protection; they advertise as never needing repair but all it seems they want to do is sell appliance insurance.
The pump is making a terrible noise in…
The pump is making a terrible noise in our 1 year old washing machine. We called Maytag as it was still under warranty. They send the sleaziest low down repair company they can find out. They never showed up. They lied and said they knocked on the door and no one came. I cancelled the appointment with them because like many businesses these days they don’t do what they say they will. I guess I’ll be fixing it myself. The pump is $170. Thanks Maytag!! Shame on s&s appliance in Bessemer, AL too!!
Bad Maytag washer
I am the owner of a maytag washer model #
MVWC565FW1 for 4yrs.
Recently started to make a screeching noise!
Had a tech come and check it out and the gear box has gone bad already and of course only a year warranty they sure dont make things as they used too!
UPDATE:
Service tech put new part in on 9/23/2022
and that gearbox is bad as well same as the one that had been replaced, he is ordering another and we pray that it is a good part, they are just making junk anymore and I wouldn't recommend a whirlpool product at all!
Horrible
Horrible. We bought a Maytag washer from Lowe’s and the hinge on the plastic lid broke. Been two months trying to find a replacement and can’t get anything. I am done with Maytag and Lowe’s. Time to get another washer and put this one on the curb. Horrible
DEFECTIVE MAYTAG APPLIANCES AND SUPPORT
I can't begin to tell you how bad Maytag products are. Several years ago, I purchased a new Maytag washer and dryer, the first of the “water saving” and “electricity saving” units and the first impeller washer on the market. I purchased Maytag because they were made in the USA. What a mistake! This washing machine takes at least an hour to complete a wash cycle which means more electricity. I have to use “bulk load” for more water to get the clothes clean. On top of that, it makes holes in my clothes and even turns coats inside out. Facebook has an anti-Maytag group about bad service, support, and defective machines. The US attorney general should be looking into this. The following is my review of the machine, which Home Depot refused to take back within the return time frame: MAYTAG BRAVOS WASHER
This was my WORST appliance purchase that I’ve ever made. I’ve had 2 service calls that didn’t resolve my problems. I will never make another major purchase through Home Depot because of they wouldn't allow me to return the units within their return time limit. I bought Maytag because I thought that they had a good reputation and because they are made in the USA. They do not stand behind their products. They’ll try everything to avoid an exchange or return.
I’m unhappy (to say the least) because:
1. I had to have the electrical component replaced immediately since none of the buttons worked as they were supposed to.
2. The design of the Bravos washer/dryer is ridiculous and not really noticeable in the store. The tops of the machines slant slightly downward, so folding clothes on them is not an easy job. They slide right off the machine onto the floor. The slant also diminishes the amount of room that you have on top to fold clothes. The sides also slant downward, so there is a larger gap between washer and dryer than normal. I had to tape together 2 silicone gap covers to cover it up.
3. The washer tub is very deep. If you’re under 5’ tall, you might need someone to hold on to your ankles while you dive in to retrieve the clothes. Why it’s that deep is beyond me because of the small amount of water that fills just to the top of the clothes.
4. That’s another problem. The water fills by a sensor, so sometimes even normal loads don’t get soaked good and agitated.
5. You have to get used to using about a teaspoon of liquid detergent in the dispenser. Otherwise, you’ll smell detergent on your clothes afterwards. I use non-scented detergent, but you can even smell that on the clothes.
6. I generally keep the button on 2nd rinse to get the detergent completely out of the clothes. Using the 2nd rinse cycle, the machine takes about 1.5 hours to complete the full cycle from wash to spin. A one-rinse cycle takes about 1 hour. This is way too long to have to wait for clothes to wash.
7. The final result is the worst! First, the spin cycle does not spin all the water out of the clothes. They are a bit too wet. Second, the clothes come out so twisted and badly wrinkled and stay wrinkled after drying. Most clothes retain the bumpy indentations from the holes in the tub. Even fabrics like velour or fleece come out wrinkled. I’m concerned about the clothes being damaged from being twisted.
8. I have to spend an extra 5 min. or so to remove the detergent/softener dispenser and take it apart to get the blobs of water left in it. More paper towels! I won’t leave the water in there till my next wash because I don’t want to risk mold. I’ve also been told that the steel rods on each side eventually get rusty.
9. The noise is annoying too. The machine makes loud clunks between cycles and when it’s filling with water.
10. The rough impeller agitating actually turns clothes inside out – even a heavy long lined raincoat!
The end result is that I’m using the bulky cycle to get enough water in, so I’m using way more water than I did with my old agitator. A second rinse cycle is necessary most of the time to get the detergent out – again, more water and electricity.
To think that I’ll have to live with this for a number of years is very stressful. I don’t recommend this machine at all. I’ll be sure to buy a plain vanilla agitator machine if I can either sell this or move and leave it with the house. Now I do love the dryer except for the slanted top. It does a beautiful job in so little time.
With all of the complaints about this machine, I think that a class action lawsuit is in order.
Maytag is Trash
Warning - DO NOT BUY Whirlpool Corp Appliances, ESPECIALLY MAYTAG. They do not stand behind the units they sell. We dropped $600 on this "Commercial Grade" wash machine (5.3 cu. ft. High-Efficiency White Top Load Washing Machine with Deep Clean Option, ENERGY STAR Model MVW7232HW) and paid to upgrade the lines to stainless steel. It died after 22 months, a bad seal leaked water internally, fried some components (no water ever leaked from the unit onto the floor) and despite there being a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on parts sticker on the unit... the fine print says only the tub and motor are covered. There is no way we could have known the seal was leaking and it was not the result of misuse (overloading) or abuse. The parts to fix it are back-ordered months and cost more than a new unit after install. Glad I paid $150 to learn all this. It also did not wash great on most settings.
I purchased a Maytag top loader HE…
I purchased a Maytag top loader HE washer from Lowe's on 3/23/2021. It is absolutely the worst washer I have ever used. My clothes are never clean even though I have tried all of the cycles and various detergents. The water doesn't cover the clothes and it doesn't move them around enough to even get out the simplest kinds of soil. I thought Maytag stood for quality. I am having to soak the clothes in my bath tub and then put them in the washer to rinse and spin. I must get rid of this washer and get another one. I cannot believe Maytag ever washed soiled clothes in this washer before it was put on the market! It is model MVWC565FW
Awful dishwasher + customer service = Maytag thinks customers should pay for their design flaws
After owning our 1st (and last) Maytag dishwasher for a little less than 1 year, parts literally started falling off.
The plastic wheels on the bottom rack kept falling off. I called Whirlpool (Maytag, Whirlpool, Amana, and Kitchen Aid, are the same company now), and I was introduced to the long process of getting through the automated system to speak to a human being. The 1st person I spoke with sent us new wheels, but unfortunately, the wheel design had not been upgraded, and the same problem kept happening over and over again.
The repairman who came to fix (yet another problem that developed) confirmed that I was using the recommended detergent, and said that I wasn’t doing anything to create the decay of the plastic parts that hold the wheels to the assembly. It is a surprisingly ineffective design using plastic tabs to hold plastic wheels onto the assembly. Each time I was sent new wheels, I hoped when I opened the package I would see a new design, perhaps with metal tabs that wouldn’t corrode, but each time they were the same plastic wheels, with the same plastic tabs, so replacing them would only be a temporary solution. The wheels would fall off again when the plastic tabs corroded.
The last time I spoke to a customer service person, she put me on hold to speak to her supervisor. When she got back to me, she informed me that Whirpool would no longer be sending me the wheels free of charge. I informed her that the wheel issue dated back to when the machine was only about a year old.
I had originally been told that since I called and informed customer service of this issue when the dishwasher was still so new, that it would continue to be covered for that issue, if it did indeed keep occurring. It did keep occurring, and it continues to today. Why should I have to pay for the wheels now? Regardless, they decided not to send them free of charge anymore, because that's the kind of company Maytag is. The they their customer's should pay for their design flaws.
Within 2 weeks of that phone call, 2 more parts broke. One of the parts permitted the top rack to be adjusted to a lower position. The ‘adjustable’ rack now permanently lives in the upper position, and we are unable to load taller items into the top rack. Then, less than a week later, another plastic tab broke off. This one kept a folding rack on the bottom in place, so that dishes could be loaded in a row and stay upright.
To add insult to injury, after my last phone call with customer service, I began receiving letters from Maytag to purchase their extended warranty for $150.00 for one year of coverage. I would rather spend the $150.00 on a new dishwasher from a company that stands behind their design, and their products!
It was bad enough having to deal with the hassle of requesting the wheels, and then replacing the wheels, let alone spending more money on a dishwasher we wish we never bought to begin with.
It is shameful that Whirlpool produced and sold such an inferior product, and it is just kicking the can down the road to just send new wheels, instead of redesigning the part. Now, customer service won’t even stand behind the product, by at least admitting the design flaw and sending the parts, is obscene.
In an age where great products and great customer service are the main factor that keep customers returning to the same company, it is not a wise practice to alienate customers. I am surprised and disappointed at how I've been treated.
Most recently, the washer arms now regularly get clogged, and the way they are designed makes it impossible to get all of the clogging material out of them. So, after only owning this dishwasher for less than 5 years, we are hand washing our dishes, and shopping for a new dishwasher. We are not willing to buy any more parts for this terribly made dishwasher.
Poor and rude customer service
Poor customer service. Very rude agents on phone. One threw an attitude . Another hung up on me when trying to locate purchase order. Maytag never shipped paperwork with burners part.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'VE REMAINED ON HOLD WITH THEIR 800 NUMBER FOR OVER 90 MINUTES AND NEVER SPOKE TO ANYONE. THE REPS ARE OFTEN CONDESCENDING
Beware!!!!!!
I bought a Maytag tumble dryer to dry my families clothes but unfortunately i spent £320 of hard earned money on a tumble dryer that takes two days to dry a couple of items if you are lucky. I was informed whirlpool were responsible for repairing it after various phone calls for which i have just received a £40 phone bill for five calls and an engineer which did not repair make he was sent out to. Eventually whirlpool sent an engineer out to look at machine but still does not dry clothes i have had to buy a cheap second hand machine which does the job it is meant to. The moral of this review is stay clear or Maytag dryers and Whirlpool customer service.
