So well done we will be visiting again.
Great food and service, but ambience not so…
During the Easter 2026 weekend we went to the Edinburgh restaurant for what was our fourth visit. Excellent friendly, welcoming and professional service by a young Ukrainian lady. Our steaks were perfectly cooked in respect of what we ordered and how we wanted our ribeyes cooked (medium rare). Would give five stars but the ambience and layout of the restaurant is such that five stars would not be worthy. Management need to make significant improvements to allow for a more intimate, private and more personal dining experience. This would at least make the high cost of dining in this restaurant chain more worthwhile and enjoyable.
Yesterday was my birthday
Yesterday was my birthday, this was my first ever time at this place,Louren took care of us for our stay and by God she was amazing, she made us feel like we was at home and she elevated my experience so much that I always want to come back to this establishment, she went above and beyond and didn't have to put a candle in my cake, but she did and she surprised me by singing happy birthday to me, best birthday ever and I will be coming back, my my mother's card be able to handle me next time.
So gutted ☹️
We were served chicken that did not appear properly cooked and was definitely not appetising. When we raised this with our server, we were repeatedly told that it was fine, rather than being offered a straightforward solution such as replacing it with a more well-cooked portion, just like you would if a steak was too rare for your liking. We were not trying to cause an issue - we simply wanted to feel comfortable with the food we were being served.
The situation escalated unnecessarily, and at one point the server walked away from the table saying “yeah sound, I’ll get the manager then,” which felt dismissive and unprofessional. This was particularly disappointing as he had been really polite beforehand. A sarcastic comment was also made about taking the chicken home, which added to an already uncomfortable situation.
I think it’s important to highlight that situations like this need to be handled more carefully, especially when considering customers with autism, ARFID, OCD, or other sensory and food-related difficulties. For many people, food safety, textures, and how food is cooked are not minor preferences but genuine barriers to being able to eat comfortably. A simple, understanding response - such as offering a replacement without challenge - would make a significant difference.
Additionally, we experienced a long wait for our food, which made the outcome even more frustrating. To spend a significant amount of money and then feel unable to eat the meal, while also feeling dismissed when raising a concern, made the overall experience very poor.
What is most disappointing is that this could have been resolved very easily. If we had simply been offered a fresh portion cooked to our liking - as would be standard practice if a steak was not cooked as requested - the situation would not have escalated.
Instead, we left feeling dismissed, uncomfortable, and disappointed. It has also affected how I feel about returning, as I had previously considered Miller & Carter a reliable and comfortable place to dine as someone who lives with OCD, based around this kind of thing.
I SO hope this feedback is taken on board to improve how concerns like this are handled in future, with a focus on listening to customers and resolving issues in a more understanding and professional manner.
Warrington miller carter definitely avoid dirty plates served and poor staff member
Visited Warrington restaurant and ended up not eating my meal as they could not provide me with a clean plate the young lady serving was not great I asked for a clean plate and she brought me three dirty plates I politely asked for a plate that was clean and she said what do you want a new plate then so I just give up didn’t eat my meal as they could not provide me with a plate that wasn’t massively worn out and clean. My family ate their meals honestly a really poor experience would definitely not recommend this Warrington branch of miller and carter poor service from staff member and dirty plates
Restaurant? Don’t make me laugh!
So this ‘restaurant’ if you can even call it that is ridiculous. I visited the Resorts World location tonight, after booking a table days in advance.
I arrived on time and was told to take some buzzer device and wait in the bar area…. Why isn’t the table ready? You’re not that busy, and even if you were, you seem to have a lot of staff. After 5 minutes, I decided to walk through the restaurant and counted five 2 seater tables, two 4 seat tables and one 5-6 seat table that hadn’t been cleared/cleaned.
The attitude in this place is just absurd. This isn’t really a proper restaurant, it’s a fast food chain pretending to be something it isn’t, and clearly has no idea how to operate as a restaurant.
I used to occasionally visit the Hereford location a few years ago, and that was pretty poor too.
This will be the last time I waste another 8 minutes of my life.
Avoid and go somewhere else, that at least pretends to value your custom.
Booked a table at the Kettering…
Booked a table at the Kettering restaurant and starters was great but the
mains Ribeye steak was full of fat and gristle and was inedible , staff were great but this certainly will be our last visit to millerandcarters
Miller and carter Southampton
My husband and I visited the miller and carter in Southampton yesterday evening. This used to be one of our favourite places to go and we have been numerous times.
We was waiting 50 mins for food we asked how long our food would be to be told it would be another 5-10 minutes! By this point we didn’t even get the lettuce wedge. We ended up leaving without any food, absolutely disappointed is an understatement. I have emailed miller and carter and explained our disappointment and I was told the manager would be in contact but no one has been in contact.
The food was nice and the service was good but no blue light…
The food was nice and the service was good, but when I went to pay i offered my blue light card and I was told they only take nhs and not blue light even though Google shows they do and to treat nhs differently to carers is disgusting.
Food was cold and below standard
Food was cold. Made to sit under the air conditioning unit. Manager refused to move us to a warmer area despite there being loads of space. Manager was rude and showed no remorse. Received an email from miller and carter quite apologetic but no phone call to try understand the detail of what happened not sure how they improve. Not surprised by their low rating on here
Visited Miller & carter Liverpool last…
Visited Miller & carter Liverpool last night, birthday celebration, our waitress Becky was great and added a special touch for our celebration. Steak cooked to perfection. Nice evening, good vibe, would recommend.
Miller & Carter, Rayleigh
I haven’t been to my local Miller & Carter in Rayleigh for some months, but since then it has had a facelift. It’s been done very tastefully and now has a really relaxing atmosphere.
Today we received great service from Chloe. She was very friendly and gave us plenty of time to make our selections without ever making us feel rushed. My lunch partner made a light‑hearted comment our lunch, which she took in good faith and with a smile.
Well done, Chloe.
Poor food and staff attitude
We had such a disappointing night at Miller & Carter at York tonight. My wife and I both ordered Sirloin steaks but found this difficult as the steak expert was difficult to understand and he did not read our order back to us. When they arrived at the table there was some confusion about how well they had been cooked. The waitress (who we now know is still in training) did not help the situation by not clarifying our order and placed the food down. We realised one steak had been cooked medium well instead of medium rare. When I asked the waiter about this he rolled his eyes and basically argued with me about what I had requested. Whilst he did offer me a freshly prepared steak he said this would be 10-15 minutes so that meant my wife would have eaten her meal alone. I didn’t want to create a fuss so carried on with the meal. The steak was bland and even if it was meant to be medium well it was over cooked and tough. I couldn’t eat any more and took my concern to the manager who was aplogetic and when the bill came he removed my steak and the drinks. We did say that our entire meal had been spoilt and really wish we had returned both steaks. We frequent our local restaurant often and really enjoy the whole experience. Tonight has left us disappointed and angry.
Will be comming back
Have visited the Swindon site.
Very nice food, good choices, nice cocktails, friendly and prompt service. Very friendly atmosphere, aple parking.
The food was exceptional
The food was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and our waitress Courtney (Eastern Road Portsmouth site) was so nice. Would absolutely recommend this venue
NEVER AGAIN! RUDE STAFF COLD FOOD
My Husband and I attended Miller & Carter on the 1st April,Liverpool Albert Dock. This was our 1st visit. We arrived and were met with miserable staff & were taken to our seats. We sat there and before we even sat down we were asked what we wanted to drink. We had zero time to look at the menu. There was a cold draft coming through the glass and I absolutely freezing so we asked to be moved. I ordered a 9 oz steak my Husband ordered a burger. When the food arrived after an hours wait, my steak was cold and I had not even been given a steak knife, just a butter knife. I kindly asked the waitress with long dark hair to come over. I politely said my steak was cold and she replied saying “ do you want me to warm it up? Obviously steak is cooked to your liking and mine was medium rare, so how you warm it up and keep it as medium rare I will never know! I said I was not happy with it being warmed up as it cost £27.50. She advised me that she was too busy and that she would get a manager. I waited and waited and eventually was given a new steak. However I was still not given my lettuce starter that apparently is meant to be eaten before the steak! My husband had finished his food before I received mine so we ate separately and this totally ruined our wedding anniversary meal. I then had to ask for a steak knife and for my lettuce starter. The staff were rude and I felt rushed. I thought dining there would be a pleasurable experience but it turned out to be a total disaster. Rude staff especially the girl with the long dark hair. Food was nothing special and our evening was ruined. You clearly do not have to have customer service skills to work at this establishment.
Overpriced and tasteless, hefty service charge
Horsforth, Leeds - Overpriced, chicken tasted rubbery, hardly any chips, and the 7 stringy green beans which were supposedly the veg, were practically uncooked and tasteless. At the end the bill included a previously not mentioned hefty service charge. When asked about this the waiter said it was 'optional'- as indeed was the service. Very disappointed and won't be going back.
Chose M/C to celebrate my 86th birthday…
Chose M/C to celebrate my 86th birthday with friends nice welcome nice table but very ordinary food. On a previous visited i had had salmon which was lovely but this time round was very dry from this i assumed it had either been left to long cooking or a piece that had been reheated. My friends had fish & chips which also looked overdone but none of them complained . To add insult to injury we had perfect piece of salmon at the pub at the weekend. So wont be back
FOOD WAS AWFUL
GLASGOW ST VINCENT STREET
Staff were very pleasant and polite.
The food was awful from a tasteless starter to a poor tasting 8oz Ribeye steak with a silly side dressing and a very bland sauce. I won't be going there again. Better steaks in smaller restaurants.
