I have used Montu for around a year with constant frustrations. I really want to like them but issues seem to be getting worse not better.
Their staff are genuinely lovely (honestly they are really polite, sweet, helpful, and honest) IF you can get hold of them. In addition to the difficulty getting hold of anyone its a lottery when your prescription will be approved.
Stock not available repeatedly with poor alternatives if any.
Overall, a poor level of communication. Given the constant issues with Montu i am surprised i was not contacted to resolve the issues by the owners. It is likely due to the number of issues i have experienced and this being a constant feature (other reviews also seem to suggest this)
It appears this is very much a part time venture for the Montu / owners as you can rarely get hold of anyone to speak to in normal hours. The constant lottery on stock and when you actually receive your prescriptions makes it a rocky ride. There must be better alternatives out there........worth a google as some companies have now removed prescription costs etc to attract new customers

Don’t usually have problems with montu. Yeah it usually takes a couple days for them to get the prescription but I don’t think it is due to lazyness or inadequate staff I just think sometimes things take a few days. Anyway. I go away very soon and my prescription crosses over while I’m away. Thanks to alternaleaf they got my quarterly review booked in a few weeks early. Got my prescription wrote out Friday and was told to ring montu Monday and just let them know I need the script before Thursday as that’s when I go away. Spoke to a lovely bloke at montu Monday morning and advised him of the situation. He assured me he would do his best to get things sorted before Thursday. Anyway. 4 hours later I get an email saying my script is ready for payment. Absolutely fantastic customer service from start to finish from montu nd alternaleaf. Big thank you to all staff there. Been with them for 6 months and only one hiccup but was sorted by the montu staff in a day and was even packaged and sent for next day at 4oclock. Speak to the people on the phone like they’re actual people and not robots and I’m sure they will be really helpful!

After experiencing poor customer service with a previous pharmacy, I found Montu to be a brilliant provider. They are fast, efficient, have great customer service, and all of my respect for how well they manage their patients prescriptions. Thank you.

This is my second review, and I’m devastated to say that nothing has improved – in fact, it’s only got worse.
After being ignored completely following my first review, I’ve sent multiple emails, raised formal complaints, and spent hours trying to reach someone – including being on hold for 42 minutes with no answer. Montu finally claimed a replacement was sent yesterday – but yet again, nothing has arrived. No tracking, no update, no proof… just more hollow words.
This goes far beyond poor service. It shows a total lack of integrity. A complete absence of accountability. I’ve been left without the product I paid for, with no refund, and no faith that anyone at Montu actually cares.
I have now reported Montu to the MHRA – because this isn’t just inconvenient. It’s morally wrong.
As a first-time customer, I expected at least basic honesty. Instead, I’ve been met with indifference, neglect, and deception. I feel completely exhausted, powerless, and let down.
If you value your time, money, or peace of mind, stay far away.

Many reviews are written in frustration.
I believe Montu UK is a good pharmacy for its extensive catalogue, competitive prices, and on average, next day delivery at no extra cost for the first order of every month.
While I'm not a fan of the new client portal for appointments and to access our profiles, the customer experience remains in high regard and customer support when needed (though a slight mixed bag) has been informative, friendly and supportive of prescription issues, with some staff more amicable than others. One instance, support didn't respond to a request for three days, with a phone call. In another, my issue was resolved right on the phone and my prescription at the door the next afternoon.
Overall, Montu is a reliable pharmacy, certainly worth a shot for those in need of a dependable provider.

Very poor customer service. Have placed my order and it never arrived. I have written 5 emails and the customer service has been silencing me for 3 weeks now, despite early emails supporting a resolution. Now I doubt that they even sent the package.

Been left without medication now for 2 weeks, consistently having to chase with no end in sight. Keep being told ‘sorry we are causing you stress’ … I don’t know how to complain but it’s becoming unbearable

I've not been too happy with Montu recently, its very frustrating to find my prescription is sold out, this has happened several times now aswell as mistakes with wrong items on the prescription and having to wait for them to correct it. I think that stock should be put aside while waiting for the prescription to be written to save the disappointment after going through the process of researching and selecting a suitable strain thats in stock. I called up and Amelia was very helpful and understanding, she explained the issues they're having with stock levels so I found another suitable strain that was fast tracked so hopefully it gets sorted today. I'd say about 60% of stock is sold out which is very annoying because there's really not much to choose from. I hope things improve soon because before these recent stock issues and wrong items on the written prescription I was quite happy. They are helpful when I call up and when I receive the medication I'm happy so I appreciate them and what they do even if there's occasional issues.

Worst service ever nothing is ever in stock they never removed stock thats not available ever again .. They add brands that are cheap if you loom up reviews for theses strains they are cheap for a reason as they dont do anything and reviews are very poor .. You are limited to what you can purchase due to 99% of stock states only for new patients only or out of stock for months with no new stock added .. Half the strains are either weak , or have seeds in the buds witch is not good at all .. Am already looking to transfer to a more reliable service monto is not the good to seevice as they state they are nowhere near they dont even answer phone calls if you try to ring the phone number worst service ever i will be suprised if they even last much longer as a company lucky av even gave one star ...

Stock levels are terrible, aswell as stock allocation. I’ve had multiple prescriptions changed due to medication not being available!!!!

Very bad experience with the agents on the calls, i ask for a manager then im refused and hung up on. A late prescription that was wrong then the late delivery by royal mail. Now no medication till monday when they decide to deliver even tho i work till 5pm and post office shuts at 5. Reason why i need it delivered on a sat. Im leaving this company to goto a better one. Royal mail is responsible for my medication wtf at least use a decent delivery company. Iv been struck off from alternaleaf and montu i need to find alternative to this bad company. I would not recommend dealing with this company. From the hour long queue on the phones to be hung up on and refused a simple right to speak to a manager, i lost the plot at the agent but not before they refused me to speak to a manager and i warned them i would start. Pathetic from a company that i pay to use. Without the customers you have no business remember that. Had a manager call back from montu since Thursday 10/7/25 now the 15/7/25 no reply or acknowledge of complaint thats illegal.

Montu has been incredibly disappointing as a pharmacy provider. Every time I’ve found a medication that actually works for my chronic pain, it becomes unavailable the moment I try to reorder. This has happened repeatedly, and the alternative products offered are not even remotely similar — making continuity of care impossible.
I was told Montu offered better availability and consistency than other services, but that simply hasn’t been true. For patients with chronic conditions, medication is not optional — it’s essential for basic quality of life. The lack of transparency and frequent stock issues have left me without the only effective treatment I’ve found, and no realistic alternatives.
If Montu cannot reliably supply the medications they dispense — especially for long-term patients — that should be clearly communicated upfront, not discovered when people are desperate and without options.
I would strongly caution anyone with chronic health needs against relying on Montu. Their inconsistency has caused unnecessary pain, stress, and serious disruption to my treatment.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Montu regarding my prescribed medicinal cannabis.
I placed an order on 25/06/2025, provided my correct and confirmed delivery address and format, and after more than 10 days of no delivery, I had to chase them multiple times. Royal Mail then confirmed the parcel was lost. I had to initiate the complaint myself, and despite the urgency of this being a prescribed medication, Montu failed to act with any proper urgency or care.
I was told I would receive a call by the end of Friday to discuss a resolution — that never happened.
Eventually, they processed a refund without even asking if I wanted a replacement, which I clearly requested in my formal complaint. Worse still, my prescription was cancelled in the process, meaning I now have to go through the hassle and delay of reapplying for a new prescription, delaying my treatment even further.
This is a serious medication, not a casual purchase, and the way Montu has handled this is unacceptable and unprofessional. Their lack of communication, failure to follow through on promises, and mishandling of something as sensitive as prescribed medicine is deeply concerning.
This experience has left me without my essential treatment and triggered my health condition further due to delays and stress.
I expected far better from a company operating in the medical cannabis space. I hope they seriously reflect on the duty of care they owe their patients.
I have all evidence of this too. Avoid.

I am New Customer with Alternaleaf and Montu Pharmacy, i joined before i read all these reviews and so panicked thinking i would have a bad experience but it has been the complete opposite.
Everyone i have spoken to has been friendly, helped me work out issues like changing/confirming my address the same day my 1st prescription was being shipped or changing/adding to my existing prescription which only took 3 working days to do.
my 1st 2 orders came next day like they stated and i've got my 3rd order coming tomorrow! hands down a great experience overall! i would and have been recommending people to join. My brother has taken my advice and signed up!
