Tried the sock for fit and although they seem to have somewhat of a “neoprene” feel (a little thicker and heavier than traditional sock) the fit was quite streamlined, relatively snug and comfortable... Voir plus

Northbound is a solid company with quality products. I have many of their products. I absolutely love their Adventure pants so much that I bought 4 pairs.

Great service although postage a little slow to the U.K. biggest disappointment is being a very slim woman, I ordered the mens 28” waist trousers (I only have 33” hips so women’s trousers never fit & mens 28” are usually a perfect fit). I was so disappointed that not only are the trousers huge around the waist & hips (32” waist and 40” hips without even stretching them at all) , but also so high waisted that using the great belt that I also purchased with them digs into my ribs so much that I can’t even use it with these trousers 😢 Don’t get me wrong, both the trousers and belt are great quality & highly functional (although tue trousers could do with more pockets) but beware the sizing if you’re slim. Personally I don’t like oversized baggy products. I am wearing one pair of them as I’m an outdoor worker in woodland & without question they’re warm & water repellent - I just wish that the sizing had been accurate 😕 I didn’t send them back as there was no smaller mens size than a mens 28” waist.

I have now had my adventure pants for…
I have now had my adventure pants for two years. I will admit I was skeptical when I saw the label 'made in China"but.......they have been hunting in all kinds of weather, fishing in Northern Quebec. They have been my "goto" pants for shovelling the driveway. Great for walking in the bush at our off-grid cabin. Waterproof is a plus- knee pads are a plus- cut and rip-resistant they say and so far so good- No stitching has come loose and no zippers have failed. Wear them alone or with long johns for extra cold weather comfort. I also like the belt that I bought which has an easy clip-on clip-off belt latch. Compared to other "premium name brand" outdoor pants these have been a bargain.

Their $80 waterproof socks are a joke
Their $80 waterproof socks are a joke! They asked me for a review and I wrote one telling them that I’ve worn the socks twice while running in the rain and they were not waterproof. They responded telling me someone would contact me and a month later no one ever did contact me. They also didnt post my review.
Edit - April 6. After writing this review they contacted me again to “ make it right “. I responded and never heard another word. Another fly by night company ripping people off with false advertising and poor quality.

Very happy with my purchase of womens Adventure pants in Tall. Fits beautifully, excellent quality, service is above and beyond, quick delivery to Canada (!) perfect length for my 36” inseam. Will wear these for years.

Walking Trousers
I ordered both the winter and summer waterproof walking trousers from Northboundgear. The products were delivered well within the stated time frame and the communication regarding despatch etc. was good. I have worn the winter trousers several times now and I am very impressed with the quality and performance.
My only gripe is that they are manufactured in China.

Along with others, I had a very long wait for my pants. 2.5months before they arrived after many emails back and forth with false tracking information 2x. Just tried out pants this weekend. If the pants hold up, I may give upgrade the review a bit, but I would never order from them again unless I know they have fixed their shipping and delivery issues...

Ordered pants in November and they…
Ordered pants in November and they arrived 5 weeks later. They were a Christmas present for my husband. Not cheap. I ordered 32'' length but they were too long even though the tag said 32". My husband has a older pair so we measured them and sent picture after picture as the company requested. It is now March 1 and this issue has not been resolved! I will never buy anything from this company. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Exchanges may be free, but the cost to ship it back to Canada is HUGE! Sending a pair of light weight pants back (4#) cost $25.00 + Customs paperwork must be completed. Shipping was also charged on the original shipment as well, making this the most expensive pair of hiking pants I ever purchased. Hopefully I actually receive the exchanged pair now and they fit. Northbound responded with I shouldn't have been charged, but they did not send me a PREPAID postage label. They emailed the address and said to use USPS which I did. Interestingly, the post office said others customers have experienced the same thing with this company.

Nice, but ineffectual People...Absolutely Horrid Shipping/Returns
3/1/24: I had originally given this company 2 stars, but it really deserves one until it masters economical and efficient shipping and returns in the US. My sister-in-law has a jacket stuck in Jamaica, NY for a week, and "my friend" Sunny seems to not care, or possibly even the CEO can't get something shipped quickly with this outfit. It should take a couple days for a shipment to get from Jamaica, NY to Rochester, NY, not a week of it sitting in Jamaica, NY waiting to be sent to USPS. The people in this company are nice,, but ineffectual. I'll take efficient and effective over nice and useless any day.
2/24: The merchandise is good stuff. I've ordered quite a few things from them, and it's all good, however, their shipping (at least in the US) is whack. It takes 2-4 weeks even though the orders are leaving from Jamaica, NY. It's 2/17 and I'm still waiting on an order I placed 1/27! Free shipping shouldn't take more than a week, at most. The other issue with them is if you need to return anything, it's very expensive from the US. While they ship to the US from the US, you have to pay for shipping back to Canada (with duties) AND a restocking fee, so, know your size in their stuff or it'll be costly to return it for a better fit. While I like the quality of Northbound Gear's stuff, the shipping/return issues make me very hesitant to shop with them again. There's so many options for adventure gear that don't have these issues. Hopefully, they'll figure out how to get a shipment to their customers in a timely manner, and how to allow returns without costing their customers a huge penalty for needing to exchange an item for a better fit. If they do this, I'll shop with them again. But for now, I'll get my stuff from their competitors with their systems more figured out.

Customer support was great
Customer support was great, I made an error with my order and the support team rectified my error after one email from me and my order arrived exactly as I wished, quality of the clothing seems very good and above my expectations, I hope to add a second review after several months of wear.
Have used the garments through late winter and early spring here in North Wales no complaints whatsoever, they have been washed a few times and no material disasters ( shrinkage, stitch falling apart ) as per original review jolly good garments, my only small criticism is that I find the fly zip slightly short into the crotch of the trousers.

The company has an uncanny ability to…
The company has an uncanny ability to design well fitting and in fact quality tailored gear which for outdoor clothing is not always the case. Just follow the measurements that are provided and without fail the clothing fits perfectly. I am a 5 foot 10 woman and have trouble finding pants that fit well. The adventure high waisted water resistant pants tall and the lighter weight V2 Explorer summer pants fit very well. My son recently bought the men's adventure water resistant pants to his first pair of pants which are the waterproof jeans. Both have a reliable fit and work well with the mens Apex waterproof jacket which he says is the warmest and most useful outdoor jacket that he owns. I recommend Nortbound.

Awful experience- Buyer beware
I had to return a pair of pants and the experience could not have been worse. After a dozen emails and paying almost $30.00 return postage from the US to Canada I only got back 75%of the original purchase price. The return policy is not honored, and the different departments do not talk to each other. So, when one department promises something other departments know nothing about it. I probably spent 4 hours on the return procedure, and I can’t say enough BAD things about the whole process.
