Highly not recommended.

For those who wished to use this subscription method, I would highly not recommend to do so. Better to use Cinch as you would be able to own the device after your subscription ends.
From Circular, you would do better buying a new one. Caveat emptor!

I have received a lengthy explanation from
Circular about their policy of device buyback and subscribers acknowledging this policy upon subscribing. However, Circular should not expect customers to buy back a device at the original RPP. For example, I had used that device for 12 months and wished to buy it.
The original RPP was $1,899. Total amount from a 12-month subscription was: (first month waived) 11 months*$94=$1,034.
Therefore $1,034*50%=$517
$1,899+$517=$2,416 what I need to pay in order to buyback that device. This is too exorbitant! My suggestion was to use that trade-in price was rejected…. Better to buy a new device or subscribe to Cinch…

For clarity, Circular is not an ownership scheme and has never been positioned as one. It is a subscription model designed for customers who value flexibility, lower upfront costs, access to newer tech, and a more sustainable alternative as compared an outright purchase.

Customers who want automatic ownership at the end of a fixed term may prefer a different product type. For others, Circular offers a different value proposition altogether - including the ability to subscribe without committing to full retail prices from day one.
We believe it’s important that comparisons are made on the basis of different models serving different needs, rather than assuming they are the same product. Our terms, including the fact that ownership remains with Circular unless a Non-Return Fee Option is exercised, are disclosed during the customer journey.

And didn’t mention got additional charge.

We’ve checked your account and confirmed that the charge of $69.60 was a prorated adjustment following your use of the “Change Billing Date” feature. As shown in the platform interface and our FAQ (https://learn.nowcircular.com/en-us/articles/can-i-change-my-monthly-billing-date-EX23JFNTJr?region=SG), selecting a new billing date will result in a one-time charge made up of:
• Your regular subscription amount, plus
• A proportional charge to cover the unpaid days between your old and new billing dates.

When a device is returned, the inspection carried out at the point of collection is a preliminary check only. As outlined in the return acknowledgement provided and signed at the time of return, the final determination of the device’s condition is based on comprehensive quality checks performed by our authorised refurbishment partner.

In this case, damage was identified and confirmed during refurbishment quality checks. The repair charge was raised based on these confirmed findings, rather than the length of time since the device was returned.

We understand concerns around transparency. Where requested, we are able to share the technician’s refurbishment report to support the assessment.
