From my the beginning of my cataract and lens replacement to both eyes which began with the wonderful Optical express team in Cork namely: Roxana, Orlaith, Donna, Rachael and the Dublin team: Emer, Alison, Zoe, and of course the very professional Dr. Mickhail Hernandez and his surgery team, each and everyone of these teams made the procedure so simple by explaining every step I was going through they put my mind at ease with great results for me as after five days after the surgery I can see like I did at 15 years old before I ever needed glasses and the only problem I have now is that by habit I still reach for my glasses when I want to read or watch TV, to finish with I would like to express my gratitude to all who made this procedure so worry free with great results and if I forgot to mention anyone please forgive me as the entire Optical team should be proud of themselves and I will be forever greatful to each and everyone one of them,

Great experience In Optical Express Newbridge. Breda was great & very helpful.

Almost 6 months on and after not hearing from anyone at Optical Express despite requesting calls and emailing their CEO regarding my complaint, I went to check if what I had issues with is still the case and NO SURPRISE it still is….

1. They are still advertising €895 per eye even though they tell you that option is almost applicable to no one. The actual price will be nearly double that cost per eye. You are being lured in by untrue pricing.

2. In the laser eye surgery FAQ’s they are still saying you can only have one eye lasered if you want even though they told me that they don’t do that at all.

This is the WORST company I have ever had an issue with, not only because of clearly sharp practice but because they actually DON’T CARE and ignore complaints. I encourage everyone to look at the 1 star reviews on this page but also to check the 1 star reviews on the Optical Express UK page on Trust Pilot, these issues and much more are common across the UK & Ireland.

From my initial enquiry the response was very prompt and efficient. The follow-up to organise the initial consultation was very easy and well organised by the Cork office staff - Rachel in particular. Then the consultation and tests were carried out quickly and professionally and the dates organised and confirmed for surgery. The interaction with the staff was very comfortable and Rachel, Donna and the online optometrist Ashley made the entire process very easy.

My eye test was very professional and checked everything. The staff were very nice and helpful and able to help me with all my queries

She is so patient and caring and kind .
Took her time with all the tests .
Very informative.
The other girls when I went in were also lovely .
I was 10 minutes late as I was travelling down for my appointment and they couldn't have been more friendlier and understanding .

Rachel, Donna and the team at Optical Express Cork Mahon point and clinic team Tallaght Dublin were outstanding from start to finish with my LASIK surgery. They made me feel completely at ease from the consultation in Cork and with any questions I had and surgery in Dublin, explained everything clearly, and the care was outstanding. Had a great experience with the surgery .. but the only problem is I waited 2hrs 30 mins of a delay the day of procedure. Following day 2 hours after my appointment time so neither day was on time sitting waiting .. 5 other people in waiting room also said the same .. I would expect the price you pay things should be on time and more staff ..I couldn't of fault the staff all was lovely and helpful. Just need to be on time

I am 52 yrs old and was suffering from headaches from wearing glasses. I contacted the two leading providers in Ireland for Laser Eye Surgery. Optical Express rang me within 10 mins. They asked questions and provided me with info re the procedure I would need (cant remember the name but custom made to measure cataracts) to include cost and I was booked in for a consultation.
The premises in Tallaght was not what I had expected. It was Very Professional, modern and comfortable and had free parking. The experts I saw ran lots of tests and were able to answer any question I had in a technical manner (this I liked). The procedure itself was painless.
I can now see properly for Work (computer), Reading, Driving and even Lego with my son. My Life has changed and I am now able, once again, to continue my hobby.
Note, the other leading provider contacted me approx 7hrs after enquiry, by then I had read their reviews which were not inspiring!
What I had done was expensive but really worth every cent! I am so glad I went with Optical Express.

The team were really great. They made the whole process as stress free as possible.
The surgery staff were great too and the process was 5 minutes per eye. Pain free.

Within 6 hours I could see the results. Reading my phone and small text.

I would highly recommend lens replacement therapy and Optical express.

Very disappointed with my experience receiving laser eye surgery,
They sent me the wrong time for my appointment for surgery and rang wondering where I was 2 and a half hours before the time I was given, they told me it would be one price and after the surgery I was charged over €650 more then was initially told,was given two different times and dates for after care appointment which I cancelled because after all this I have no faith in them. Very unprofessional.
Their excuse was it was a trainee at fault.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been months since my life changed—being glasses-free has truly made such a positive difference. The entire procedure went exactly as planned, and throughout the journey, everyone was incredibly helpful, professional, and supportive.

Very friendly staff and explained everything that would be happening very clearly.

Horrendous attitudes, prior to paying all memebers were lovely, spoke with the surgeon (GOD) who told ne everything I was told was lies and the websire alos is lying as no one can say 20/20 or better, one lady said I could read glasses afterwards but anything better they can't guarentee etc and that's fine he said NO WAY did I get that guarentee, no idea what went on so I cancelled as he went to town on me and wouldn't allow me to ask further questions and upset me, weeks later no deposit refund yet and all mails ignored AVOID

Very pleasant to deal with, got an appointment for LASIK quickly and very happy with the results a month on.
