Cataract Treatment
I recently had cataract surgery with Optical Express in Tallaght, it has been a quick and easy experience from beginning to now. I had my consultation on the 12th of August and 2 weeks later I was in for my surgery.
So far I cant believe the results only 3 days post op. Thank you to everyone at the Tallaght clinic for making this process so easy for me!

HAVE THE SURGEY!!
I had my LVC over two years ago now, and I have to say it was the best thing I’ve ever done. The fact I can now wear sunglasses without having to swap between glasses and contacts is AMAZING. Thank you team Notts, especially Sharon, Hayley and Sophie for always being great, and Sajjad for being the best surgeon.

I would give 0 stars if I could, dreadful. Meadowhall branch. Never call when they say, lost glasses 3 times and when got them wrong lenses! Still waiting on glasses over 2 months after test!

White Rose center in Leeds
White Rose center in Leeds. Asked to see if they could fix my glasses as the screw had come loose and vanished. I hadn’t bought them from there but the nice assistant took my glasses and within 5 mins brought them back fixed. Asked how much and said no charge. Very friendly and went out of her way. I think I’ll be booking my next appointment there.

Shocking lying on sales call!!!!
Called 5 times today and I finally answered. They blatantly lied saying that I had enquired online about laser surgery, which I doubt I would as I have already had them lasered. Shocking way to market by lying to people.
Brilliant experience
My wife has just had cataract surgery done at St Vincent Street Glasgow. What a brilliant experience from the start, the staff could not be more helpful putting her at ease explaining as they go along. While I waited I was offered endless cups of tea/coffee, they really look after us all. Brilliant experience

Never have laser eye surgery here
If anything goes wrong with the laser eye results, like it did for me, their response is “you knew the risks”. The facilities were awful, the staff don’t care, and your time is not valued. Impossible to get an appointment. Customer service never organise what they say they will.

I went for laser eye surgery in 2019 in July or August. Everything went fine but before the year period ended my eyes started to feel really dry and irritated and my eye sight wasn’t the best especially in my right eye. I spoke to someone who advised me to go for an eye appointment which I did and was told it had deteriorated a little but not enough. But I kept having issues and then Covid hit and had no help or response from them. I have been trying for the last few years to get in touch with anyone with no luck every time I send an email I get no answer which i think is shocking service and I will now be taking this further as it is not cheap to get this done and I now wear glasses again full time even though my eyes deteriorated which the time frame that should have been covered by the company but I was brushed aside and ignored.

Avoid poor booking experience.
Tried to book a consultation to have lens surgery, could only offer me appointments at a convenient time. unable to book more than 6 weeks ahead. Eventually booked an appointment only to be told by WhatsApp that there was a problem that day a week later I have heard nothing from them!
Poor service to book eye tests.
It appears there are no direct telephone numbers any more to my local Optical Express or surrounding areas. The numbers that are given go to an automated answer machine which just keep saying an advisor will answer and they never do. Online is impossible to book an eye test as all websites only seem to be interested in advertising their laser eye service. So I won't be using Optical Express again.
A truly rubbish company
Very very poor telephone call to find out why my contact lens direct debit was more than doubled without letting me know . The person I spoke to sounded very sleepy and bored .She had no idea of how to deal with customers telling me I had been emailed in December eventually I got her to read out my email address and it wasn't mine ! She was like a stuck record saying I had received an email even when told that my email was completely different to the one she had on file . What a waste of my time, after using this company for over 20 years they ve even moved premises without letting customers know .A truly rubbish company.

Unacceptable price increase for contract lenses
Totally agree with Jo. Out of the blue the ‘modest’ increase in price has turned out to be an unbelievable 56%. Outrageous and demonstrating poor organisational management to have to make an increase of this nature.

Had Lens surgery a year ago and laser on top.
Still having problems with blurred vision and being fobbed off by them. I have made a complaint and still being ignored. Absolutely disgusting customer service!!! I am now getting legal advice £7,500 is a lot of money to spend to be left with no follow up with my problem. Can anyone help with a good legal team that worked for them?

Great Service for Cataract Surgery
I decide to put my trust in Opticalexpress at Dumfries to deal with my cataracts and I was not disappointed. I was speedily seen by a very professional team at Dumfries who, after are full eye examination, discussed the different options they could provide at their clinics and outlined the various risks etc. that eye surgery carries. They then organised my appointments at my preferred clinic in St Vincent Street Glasgow; the first to carry out a further detail eye examination then the second to carry out the cataract surgery. The Dumfries team also carried out my post op. check the day after my surgery and a further check 4 weeks later. Opticalexpress were very good at providing both written information and keeping in contact by phone and text; including a call by my allocated surgeon the week before my operation so that any last questions could be asked and the details of the surgery confirmed. So my thanks to Shaun at Dumfries who managed everything for me and kept in touch at each stage in the process. As you will have guessed I am delighted with the outcome of my surgery and I am so glad I contacted Opticalexpress.
Do not take their contact lens discount
After years of paying for contact lenses, (and no shortage of distribution issues during this time)I took up their offer of £100 off glasses if I renewed for another year. Just over a month later, I've been told my direct debit will increase by £8pm (53%), and I'm tied in for another 11 months. So the £100 discount effectively becomes a £12 discount over the year. Completely mis-sold and bordering on fraudulent. Avoid at all costs.
Exceptional service
This week I visited the branch in the Trafford centre as I was experiencing 'floaters' in my eyes. I am undergoing chemo so was naturally extremely worried, The service and care given to me was beyond exceptional, Your staff are an absolute credit to your company. They were exceptionally thorough and when it cane to choosing my frame put no pressure on me to choose expensive frames, It was a superb experience Thank you
