Nothing special to report - just the same excellent level of service that I invariably enjoy.

Very easy to deal with and extremely efficient.

I've had no reply from customer service or any confirmation emails. Is this company even trading? They have taken my money and now I can't withdraw :(

Edit: Managed to withdraw my money, but again, with no confirmation emails. My email address is correct. If I receive no confirmation emails or no reply from customer service how do I know what's going on and how can I trust this broker? Won't be using them again.

Edit: They just tried to get me to remove this review. And you guys STILL haven't been in contact with customer service!

No emails when opening an account, no emails when contacting customer service, no emails when querying a withdrawal what kind of business is that!

First 2 trades on my first day with ETX, first trade was closed down with a big loss without any explanation the second loss didn't allow me to move my stoploss away from the price then there was such a delay of over a minute that I GOT TAKEN OUT. completely outrageous behaviour, do not touch with a bargepole, I'm back to I.G and will not recommend to my trading club

Here is a company happy to inform you when to take trades but when during coronavirus you stop trading they make no contact at all. Then when your account is dormant they take dormancy charge of £25 per month. And if you want to withdraw your own money you must hae a minimum of £100 .
This comapny wants relief money from the govt for its staff and tax benefits from the govt during Covid times but will not waive its T&C for its customers who may have been furloughed due Govt Covid restrictions.
ETX is very immoral with their business attitude and i would not recommend anyone to sign up with this trading company .
You have been warned. They are after your money one way or the other. I have come across traders who were profiting from their trading and ETX then closed their account and refused to refund any money.
There are better trading companies out there so do your research on ETX and you will come to same conclusion as i have now, keep away from them.

Refusing to allow withdrawal of own deposited money. They put account on as inactive and when I contacted them they stated they require income verification from 5 years ago? Really?

Don't trust your capital with these people. I recently opened an account with them, and all seemed well. I placed a trade on oil when it was flying low, but then, however, I suddenly realized that I wasn't able to buy anymore and make anymore trades. I couldn't understand it so I phoned ETX. They said that my account had been changed to a read-only account because they had discovered an email I wrote to them about five years ago saying I didn't want to trade with them anymore because I held them responsible for taking my money. They said my trade in oil would automatically close in five days, whether it was running a loss or a profit, and it was already in a loss. They were not going to tell me unless I had made a query about it. If I had been running a great big loss on oil they would have closed me out and there would have been nothing I could do about it, apart from reeling in shock.
As it happened I discovered it and complained and they subtracted my losses and put my original deposit back in my bank.
At the end of the day these people are thieves, they gain money by sitting on their backsides all day, watching people get into massive debts on trick trades run by algorithms. Don't be caught out by them, you will inevitably loose money. I am sure they could do something similar as what happened to me if they thought someone was going to make a big profit at their personal expense. Leave these thieves well alone, they are only out to take your money and make great big sums of it. They sit on their backsides watching people suffer, and make vast sums of money by it to fill their fast cars with petrol, and fuel their great big houses.
I would give these 'people' a score of -100% if I could.

The way they treat you while opening an account is the worst, i submitted the required documents but they replied that documents must be in english or they should have a translated copy!!! Thats very funny, i left them before even starting with them

I have used ETX for several years both online with MT4 and on the app. During that time there have rarely been problems, and even with the occasional technical hiccup it has always been sorted quickly. I like the fact it's based in London, it's fully authorised and you can phone up and get straight through to a real person.

ETX is pretty good, however it could do with some simple links to basic training videos on how to use it. Not having these makes you guess, which is not ideal when you're trading money so mistakes can be made.

To open a Demo account with the intention of a live one thereafter?

Long Review:
Having not worked in Investments for over a decade I had been looking to ease back into it. I had narrowed down my search to IG & ETX for a spread betting & CFD’s account but had wanted to use the demo account first to get a feel for the platform, volatility of markets & speed of stop/limit orders. You can’t use/sign up to ETX Demo facility till you enter funds, seriously wth?! By having a live account with funds and not trade positions incurs charges. Even being regulated by the FCA you are signing up to their Terms & Conditions. At the time I tried to sign up (January) it states you can only use the demo account for up to 2 weeks. Which no doubt is the time your ‘live’ account in which you are forced to put funds in will start to incur charges or start trading...ready or not.

I signed up with IG who have unlimited use of a demo account no funds required a very responsive platform, lower costs, charges, tight spreads. YOU choose when you are ready for a live account which was set up funds transferred in 6 minutes, they were able to verify my identity and address (ID&V) electronically. No calls or emails rushing me. They also have a fantastic academy Learning App, a company investing in their client base.

ETX keep calling you to complete the sign up on the account, I did email ETX back (Josh) stating I had found another provider but they continued to call. Perhaps ETX are only looking for investment professionals as clients or railroading amateurs into high risk products/positions. If a company can’t adhere to a basic ethical introduction, how will I trust them with my positions/money? These are very high risk derivative products ETX Capital should be more responsible to ALL their clients by not having a cutthroat business model which seems to be benchmarking with the inferior.

ETX - The company/platform looks good on paper & perhaps I will review them at a later date if I can even access a demo account by then to test it out or see changes to it’s current ethics/practises/tighter spreads/lower charges. It’s a shame I didn’t even get to test their platform but I don’t appreciate underhanded tactics, financial institutions in general do not have a good reputation and ETX Capital do nothing to alleviate these concerns. I wonder how many other potential customers never make it to being a full account holder?

I’m happily making a profit with a more welcoming company, who gave me the tools and opportunity I required at the time. My experience with ETX was so contrary in comparison I needed to write this review. Good Luck Fellow Investors & ETX I hope this feedback will help improve services for the average pleb like myself. 🤭

I am used to MT4 and being able to look at my trades at any time, the web version keeps on
freezing and I have to constantly having to refresh or have to login in again.

I have only been using this provider for a few weeks but find the platform easy to use. Easy to see trade stops and profit levels on the charts and simple to adjust. A good range of instruments are available and the spreads seem reasonable.

The Protrader platform is hardly user friendly especially when I
began trading on the US makets as dealing on the live platform yesterday was extremely difficult at 2.30pm and further on telephoning the office had experienced unhelpful staff like Josh who kept dis-connecting my calls. My experience with IG Index and
City-Index has been great and will continue with them.

They seem more interested in generating commission from making trades than making money for clients. They had me in and out of stocks where the small profit on the trade didn't cover their commission so I was losing while they were winning. And I lost on more trades than I won. Had they let some trades run for more than a day or 2 we could have both won but they make money when a trade, takes place and I think they are keen to keep closing and opening trades. I've also been following their recommendations when I haven't traded and they haven't been going well either.

Etx Capital are very good, the demo accounts are good as well, you can always get in touch by email or phone fast if you have any questions, The only issues I have is there SWAP charges seem to be very high compared to other brokers I have used in the past, this is one of the reasons I have had to re think when making my expert advisors, the swap charges where more than the ea's could make, shame, spreads could be lower too, apart from that, great service and money goes in and out instantly not like some brokers.

Traded with etxcapital and it all went, successful trades with fast withdrawal, i cant say about the other brokers because i was treated badly i had to seek professional help before i could get my withdrawal
