Do not try and pay for parking with…

Do not try and pay for parking with this company on their app. I entered my card details couldn't pay for parking , on the same day they took £1 out of my card then a week later tried to take £40, if I hadn't have had a requested pin on my card the £40 would be gone , then⁹6 or 7 phone calls to me and my wife trying to get us to tell them my security numbers. The company that tried to take the £40 was eatcontent.net

The company you have mentioned are not associated to or have any link to Parkonomy. It is likely you have clicked on a link within Google (or other search engine) and inputted your card details to the wrong business. The money you have paid hasn't come to Parkonomy and the calls you have received are also not from us.

If you have provided your bank details and phone number to a business that has taken money in this way, we would suggest you urgently contact your bank and cancel the card.

Car Park Full

Paid for 3 days parking in advance at Location 8050 Diss. Arrived to find the car park was completely full and nowhere to park. As I was catching a train within the next 15 minutes I had little time to find a suitable alternative space on another car parking area. So I had to pay more than twice. I am seeking a refund from Parkonomy.

These are working in partnership with…

These are working in partnership with Total Car Parks Ltd in Market Square, 8078 in Leeds, both are working in hand to scam car parkers, Total Cra Park are adding the first 2 FREE hours in the total hours paid for on this app, the APP doesn't DISCLOSE this when you pay for the extra hours, SO YOU END UP THINKING YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE HOURS REQUIRED, but not you will then get a £100 fine from them, this FREE 2 hours should be highlighted before paying any parking charges on this, otherwise you will be scammed by both companies, I have already made a formal complaint to West Yorkshire Combined Trading Standard and Leeds City Council, this is misleading to scam customers, AVOID using these car parks and car parking apps, untrustworthy and will take your money, I will also be requesting a refund under Consumer Rights Act 2015, so expect my email!!!!

Update to the reply:

Where do you state this on YOUR App when purchasing this, you do not disclose this as information, but allow a customer to purchase parking and scam them while working with the scam parking company Total Car Parks Ltd in a joint enterprise to scam customers out of hard earned money without, how can any parking have 2 hours free when you pay for parking to find out the free 2 hrs is actually in the parking you are paying for, then this isn't free, rubbish APP and a misleading information provided on the app - Expect what is coming!!!!!

The Parkonomy signs in the car park - 8078 Market Square highlight the following:

Charges apply 08:00 to 20:00
Up to 2 hrs FREE
For stays longer than 2 hours, you must enter your correct time of arrival.

Up to 3 hrs...£1.00
up to 4 hrs...£5.00
over 4 hrs....£5.00 per hour.

If you received a PCN for non-compliance of the terms and conditions of the car park, unfortunately Parkonomy has no control over this as no PCN information is shared with us by the car park operator.

Their services are less than poor

Their services are less than poor. Quick to penalise and charge you, but not so quick when it comes to improving their app. Which will not let you pay with saved card or PayPal. I go to my account, and I can see my saved card and PayPal account, but when I try to select it at a checkout, they are not there. So then, what's the point of having saved preferable paying method?? And will not let you choose your time (actual time when I arrived). Set time and date resets itself as I try to put in departure time. Quite displeased with overall services!

We are in 21st century. One would think that it's not that hard to make a functioning web page and an app... We were taught how to make those in school as far as 30 years ago. A kid on a smart-phone can do it nowadays in less than a hour...

If you have any suggestions on how we can improve our App or website, please message us at helpdesk.parkonomy.com as we are always interested in suggestions of improving the customer experience.

Most car park operators require a parking session payment on arrival to the car park and once the vehicle is parked and within a consideration period. If you try to pay after the consideration period or when you collect your car at the end of a parking session, our App or website will not allow this under the instructions of the car park operators. There are some exceptions and if you let us know which car park you are referring to, we may be able to provide more information.

If the bank card is saved correctly onto your Parkonomy account, the system will allow payments. If, however, your card has been declined, unfortunately we have no control over this as card declines are made by banks.

As Parkonomy is an online payment platform we do not issue PCNs or penalise customers - our remit is to take payments on behalf of car park owners and operators.

No machine downloaded app is absolutely rubbish Payed via txt message and automated call came back to find a £100 fine in my windscreen will not be paying that rip off company avoid like the plague

Parkonomy does not own or manage any car parks, this includes payment machines on car park grounds. Parkonomy is an online payment platform only.

Parkonomy does not issue PCNs, these are generated by car park operators and can be for various contraventions which may include leaving your vehicle in the car park without paying for a valid parking session. If you are unable to pay for parking on arrival to the car park, we always advise to move you vehicle within the first 10 minute consideration period to avoid a PCN.

If you would like to provide us more information about the issue you had using the App we'll be happy to assist. Send your query to helpdesk.parkonomy.com and well investigate immediately. Alternatively, you can make parking session payments via our website which can be accessed on your phone or on a desk top if required.

If you feel the PCN was issue incorrectly by the car park operator, you are able to appeal it using the instructions on the PCN.

Tried desperately to pay for parking at…

Tried desperately to pay for parking at gorleston ands it keeps saying my mobile number is taken or account authentication failed - have spent at least an hour on this - it is ridiculous!!!
Paying with coins or card at the carpark would be so much simpler!!
Feeling really angry and frustrated at such a terrible system and worried about getting a parking ticket

Cannot process card payment in either…

Cannot process card payment in either app or website.
This worked 2 weeks ago on the app but has since stopped working. So switched to using the website to pay for my regular parking. Today the website has stopped processing my card payment too. It worked yesterday so what has changed?

App is not fit for purpose

I have been using the app for about 2 years without issue - Now, all of a suddern, when-ever I attempt to pay (tired of 3 seperate occasions) I select my time, car and payment method, I press "Pay" and the App does nothing.

Frustrated motoristWe parked in your car park in Southport…

We parked in your car park in Southport today - Monday 9th. September for 4 hours and have tried to pay the extra £4.00 both before leaving and subsequently on line without success.
Our car number is FT19 XDG.
We parked at approximately 12.30 and left at approximately 4.25. Please help

If you are referring to Southport, Ocean Plaza you have up to 24 hours after exiting the car park to pay for your parking via Parkonomy or you can pay using the car park operator's payment machine in the car park on arrival.

For future, we would advise contacting us via helpdesk.parkonomy.com and not Trustpilot, as we respond to tickets via our customer services directly from our helpdesk without delay.

Worst automatic parking

This is one of the worst automatic. A parking there is. Avoid them at all costs as it is next to impossible just to pay for your parking.

Utter rubbish…

Phone number allegedly has been used before so couldn’t register. Put my email in but that wouldn’t get accepted.
Told private number onsite isn’t standard UK format so couldn’t get accepted. Had to leave the car park after 10 minutes of trying to pay! Useless would avoid at all costs.

Shocking ruthless company

Ruthless company.
Parked in an Exeter carpark, tried and failed on 2 phones to download the app but then managed to finally get app to work on my phone, the third person in the vehicle. Only to find unable to pay via Apple Pay and had no cards etc available. Decided to move the vehicle with no means of payment. This all took 18 minutes ( 8 minutes over grace period) and we missed our appointment.
Then we received a fine which we contested and explained the situation but they persistent and we ended up setting on £180 fine after threatening court action so we ended up settling via mediation. The whole experience is very sad.
I will never park at a Parkonomy site again..

Parkonomy does not own or manage any car parks, Parkonomy is an online payment platform only and therefore we do not issues PCNs. The car park operator for Isca Place (if this is the car park you are referring to) would be Total Car Parks.

We do not currently have Apple pay (or Google pay) available on the App or website and unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for customers not having a bank/credit card or cash available to them with two payment machines also available on site.

Although not ideal, we always advise customers, if they are unable to pay for their parking within a 10 minute consideration period using either the App, website, Paybyphone or payment machine, to remove their vehicle from the car park, as car park operators can issue PCNs under their Terms and Conditions which are displayed on their signs on site.

Not Parkonomy car park, taking money falsely

They advertise a car park 8420 at Coppermines with a pin on a map. This car park is not theirs, its a Lake District National Park car park and they use Ringo cashless app. Received a fine after paying for parking to Parkonomy, no contact numbers work for Parkonomy or email address.

We have checked with the car park operator and there are two car parks in the vicinity. Maybe you have paid for the wrong car park? The Parkonomy location number for Old Man Copper Mines is 8420.

We can't comment on why you have received a PCN because these are issued by enforcement companies and for various contraventions. This information isn't shared with us.

If you go on the App or website you are able to contact us using helpdesk.parkonomy.com where we respond to all our customers in a timely fashion. In future, to get a prompt response and guidance it's best to message us there.

If you feel you have a genuine reason to appeal, the instructions will be on the PCN.

Terrible App…

I tried to set up parking behind Settle social club. It was a complete nightmare!!!
The app would not accept my car (Tesla M3LR). I struggled for over 10 minutes with no success I use just park, pay by phone, Flowbird and ringo with no problems I am tech savvy having been an app tester in my previous job but this is the worst app I have ever tried to use even the information screen had no back prompt after using. I had to exit the app and restart in the end I went to the adjacent car park and paid cash!!!!!

If you have a private number plate the system does generate a message to remind you to make sure the vehicle registration number is inputted correctly, all you are required to do is press 'close' - you can then continue with making the car parking session booking.

We have this reminder to try and alleviate any issues with the customer receiving a PCN for inputting the wrong vehicle registration number if it's different from the standard.

For future, we do have a helpdesk where you can send messages and we will assist you as quickly as possible.

The App no longer works.

The app used to work perfectly for me and I had no issues. I buy a monthly ticket to park at the station.

Now the App doesn't work for me, the screen won't resize once I have completed the HSBC authentication. I raise it with customers services and they didn't care.

I was very surprised and appreciative…

I was very surprised and appreciative of a personal phone call from Russell at Parkonomy regarding my complaint about being seemingly fleeced by their QR log on. It seems my bank may be somewhat culpable for accepting payment without checking with me. I still think that the payment left my account far too quickly for 5 hours’ parking when the car park was only going to be open another 2 hours. His explanation of people wanting to leave their cars overnight was understandable to a point but 5 hours?? At 5.00pm if the crazy, overkill of signage did not make clear that only 2 hours or overnight /19 + hours were available. He said he’d driven all the way from Kent to check on the signage and believed it clear - but HE knew what he was looking for. For all those of us caught out - Locked out!! it certainly was not. He thought I might hear from Total Car Parks soon as they can take a month to respond. It’s well over a month now and I have not.
Russell seemed a well- intentioned chap but so far, no-one has offered me a refund or admitted that they might be in the wrong, not me or the 25 others affected by misleading signage on 23 May at Exeter Isca. We will only ever park at John Lewis in Exeter from now on or on-street if we get lucky. Am SO mistrustful of Apcoa, Total Car Parks, Parkonomy etc.

Parked in Stockport railway station run…

Parked in Stockport railway station run by Parkonomyon a Saturday to pick someone up.
No machines available and cashless.
Tried the four ways to pay by phone,including payment online and downloading the app.
None of them worked!!
Tried to contact customer service but not available until Monday.
I had to leave the car park without paying as I had another appointment.
I now await a response from the company.

We have responded to your message on our help service today Sunday 6th June 2024 and we apologise if you feel you've had a less than positive experience.

Please note, Parkonomy does not own or manage any car parks, we are an online payment platform only. We do not own any payment machines and this particular operator has not installed any, preferring to use the online system only.

Although not advertised by the car park operator, there is a free tariff on Parkonomy at car park location number 8502, King Street West Car Park from 15:00 on Fridays to 23:59 on Saturdays and therefore you are not required to make a payment, hence why the system wouldn't allow you to.

Only had 1 bar of 3G so had to use text and call back feature. No other way to pay the parking fee. BUT if you use text and call back then the other SMSs are automatically opted in, so an extra 20p. Plus nowhere did it it say that there was a booking fee or SMSs were automatic.

£2 parking cost £2.40 - 20% increase is ridiculous.

Updated folllowing their reply: Despite Parkonomy's claim below - there was only a number to send a text to and no notice of the additional charges on the sign I saw. It was literally a sticker on the back of the per hour fees sign!

Telling me to go elsewhere, is silly - I needed that car park due to travelling with two blue badge holders and it being the closest car park to our destination. Not surprising the volume of 1 star reviews on here.

Unfortunately, Parkonomy has no control over the phone/Wi-Fi signal in the car park as it very much depends on the car park location and/or the customer's service provider coverage.

We always advise, if you are unable to get a good signal, to move to a more suitable location where you can utilise our service better.

The 20p booking fee and 10p SMS booking confirmation and reminders are highlighted on the Parkonomy signs, below where you reviewed the instructions for the text booking service.

We apologise if you feel you've had a less than positive parking experience.

***Update to previous response*** We were not suggesting changing car parks, we were simply suggesting finding a better signal area where you would be able to use our App or website booking option - for both of those options you are able to deselect the SMS confirmation or reminders.

We will talk to the car park operator to ensure the most up to date Parkonomy signs are displayed in the car park as these have the SMS fees and booking fee clearly displayed on the front (at the bottom) of the signs. Please send us a screenshot of the sign you are referring to, to our helpdesk.parkonomy.com and we will immediately investigate.
