Right policy for my needs

James gave me all the information I needed and guided me to the right policy for my needs which I hadn't had from other firms. I was then able to choose between 3 insurers and felt happy with the quote.
My only reservations were that the sound on the phone was low and I had to concentrate very hard to catch everything said. Also at the end I thought I was going to pay straightaway, and did not understand I had to wait about 3 minutes to pay.

Renewal made much easier by brilliant staff

Mia on the sales desk was very helpful, informative, polite and professional. She took the time to run through some options before finalising the insurance. She seemed very knowledgeable, spoke very eloquently and was patient.

Easy and friendly service

I was impressed with how easy it was to get my insurance arranged for my holiday let. Rebecca was very polite and clear when giving me the information. I’d definitely recommend Pikl to anyone.

Softly spoken and very helpful

Softly spoken and very helpful. I had met with so many different and vague questions from other insurers, but these questions were more to the point and it was easier to understand what they were asking.

Amazing service

Amazing service. Mia was absolutely brilliant - she was professional, courteous, polite, patient and incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend! Really impressive service and Mia was an absolutely credit to Pikl. I would definitely use them again and will highly recommend to others.

Was helped by the lovely Maria who was very kind and took time to go through with me the policy I needed and answered all my many questions. She sent through the quotes so I could re look and I phoned her back this morning and got put back through to her to pay. Maria is excellent at her job and put my mind as ease that I had chosen the right policy, so over all extremely happy with the service she gave me. Thank you Maria you are definitely 5 star service. Hope to speak to you in a years time for renewal

Airbnb, Buildings & Contents Insurance A****

Pikl are like a breath of fresh air for someone looking for Airbnb public liability insurance as part of, or as an add-on, to their buildings and contents policy.
There was also the bonus of being able to run through everything on the phone with an advisor too.
Glenn was super helpful, answered my numerous questions and was a joy to deal with.
Highly recommended.

We have had excellent service from James and Lydia, helping us through the complexity of house and contents insurance plus hosting insurance when we let our house out through AirBnb.

After Admiral refused to renew the…

After Admiral refused to renew the cover of my Mothers property following her death. I contacted Pikl and dealt with Rebecca. As someone who deals with insurance companies on a regular basis I was really impressed with her professionalism and the speed cover was arranged. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others and Rebecca in particular.

Incredibly misleading cover levels.

Incredibly misleading cover levels.
When hosting, Pikl only covers the property building and fittings up to a maximum of £30k. The main policy covers this risk when not hosting, but the hosting top-up doesn't, so leaves the biggest risk of all (the rebuild cost in the case of a fire) with the policy holder. For virtually every property in the UK this will be dramatically less than required.
Be very wary before you buy that you understand this risk and what you leave yourself exposed to. Pikl need to make this a lot clearer to buyers. Considering highlighting this to the FCA under their fair, clear and not misleading rules.

**update - 18/05 - Pikl have responded to this to clarify the cover is in fact £1m - however this is not what their colleague told me on the phone so affirming my star rating for the inconsistency of experience. Staff members should know the cover they are selling.

Hi Fraser. We take all customer feedback seriously and would like to clarify the details of our policy. In the event of a fire caused as a direct result of your hosting activity, our Top-up insurance covers up to £1 million in rebuild costs. There are also some cases where the property owner isn't liable for the rebuild cost of a property (e.g., a flat where the host is the leaseholder) and the £30k in cover relates to fixtures and fittings for that scenario. This is usually sufficient for typical flats and apartments. We also cover up to £2 million in liability cover where the host is liable for damage to third party property. In most cases, our cover is enough in the unfortunate event that a host's property catches fire. If you’d like to get in touch with us, we’d be more than happy to discuss things further with you.

Useless in Scotland

No use in Scotland, insufficient public liability for new regulations and no flexibility to adjust.
Reviews are all requested after purchase not when claiming... so yes you took my money efficiently.
Remains to be seen how the claims service performs.

However, in relation to Scotland, the amount of public liability you require varies depending on your local authority, and the liability cover we provide is usually sufficient.
