James gave me all the information I needed and guided me to the right policy for my needs which I hadn't had from other firms. I was then able to choose between 3 insurers and felt happy with the quote.
My only reservations were that the sound on the phone was low and I had to concentrate very hard to catch everything said. Also at the end I thought I was going to pay straightaway, and did not understand I had to wait about 3 minutes to pay.

Was helped by the lovely Maria who was very kind and took time to go through with me the policy I needed and answered all my many questions. She sent through the quotes so I could re look and I phoned her back this morning and got put back through to her to pay. After Admiral refused to renew the cover of my Mothers property following her death. I contacted Pikl and dealt with Rebecca. As someone who deals with insurance companies on a regular basis I was really impressed with her professionalism and the speed cover was arranged. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others and Rebecca in particular.

Incredibly misleading cover levels.
When hosting, Pikl only covers the property building and fittings up to a maximum of £30k. The main policy covers this risk when not hosting, but the hosting top-up doesn't, so leaves the biggest risk of all (the rebuild cost in the case of a fire) with the policy holder. For virtually every property in the UK this will be dramatically less than required.
Be very wary before you buy that you understand this risk and what you leave yourself exposed to. Pikl need to make this a lot clearer to buyers. Considering highlighting this to the FCA under their fair, clear and not misleading rules.
**update - 18/05 - Pikl have responded to this to clarify the cover is in fact £1m - however this is not what their colleague told me on the phone so affirming my star rating for the inconsistency of experience. Staff members should know the cover they are selling.

No use in Scotland, insufficient public liability for new regulations and no flexibility to adjust.
Reviews are all requested after purchase not when claiming... so yes you took my money efficiently.
Remains to be seen how the claims service performs.
