We're 2 physically disabled tenants and it's a month before Christmas. I have told them repeatedly that a move so soon will kill us but they're spiteful and juvenile.
Liars with no compassion or care, who would rather their tenants die than own up to their mistakes.
They have caused a significant, deliberate decline in my physical and mental health and they don't give a damn🤬

Everyone I dealt with at Pocock & Shaw Newmarket office were very friendly and professional, especially Alison and Richard who mostly dealt with the sale of my mother's house. They went out of their way to overcome problems that were delaying the sale. I cannot recommend them more highly as I am so impressed with how they handled things.

They admitted to a charging mistake to my solicitor I would have unaware of, the following
day after completion, saving me nearly £1000. Honesty and integrety is not something normally associated with estate agents, but some companies, unlike Connells and Purplebricks (Panorama), do show this.
Pocock and Shaw helped us sell our house in Cambridge recently. They impressed us with their longstanding local experience and finesse. They were very good indeed at making the most of our house and genuinely seemed to care, for a very competitive fee. We are very glad we chose them and if we ever move again (noooo…!) we’d certainly go back to them.
Kevin did a superb job with the photos, video and property description, and is very personable, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. He gave us excellent, judicious advice at various stumbling blocks, and even managed to negotiate a stressful down valuation back up on our behalf.
Jan helped us through the final stages with real sympathy and great humour. She was the kind and soothing voice of reason when things were not going to plan, and a real lifeline.
The office team were easy to deal with and efficient at arranging viewings, and the agents who showed people round all seemed nice and friendly, although we were a bit surprised there were so many different people involved.
All round, a very good experience and would thoroughly recommendi.
I'm thoroughly impressed with Pocock and Shaw From start to finish, they provided exceptional service, making our experience seamless and stress-free. I was a tenant in a property managed by Pocock & Shaw (Ely office). My tenancy ended on 11th April 2025 after the landlord served a Section 21 notice. While the eviction itself was stressful, my main issue and reason for this poor review is the handling of the end-of-tenancy administration, specifically the deposit return.
The final month's rent was explicitly agreed, via phonecall on April 9th, to be deducted from my deposit. This was the only deduction agreed upon. Despite this agreement being made before I even vacated the property, there was a complete lack of communication regarding the return of the remaining balance after I moved out on April 11th.
After waiting over a week with no contact, I chased the matter on April 18th, only to receive an automatic reply stating the property manager was out of the office until April 22nd. It appears no cover was in place to handle time-sensitive financial matters like deposit returns within the legally expected timeframes (typically 10 days from agreement)
This administrative failure occurred despite the agency knowing the tenancy end date well in advance and having already agreed on the sole deduction required. This delay, coupled with difficulties I faced securing new accommodation due to unfair aspects of the reference provided via the agency, made the entire end-of-tenancy process unnecessarily frustrating and stressful.
The lack of proactive communication, poor planning regarding staff absence for essential functions, and the failure to promptly process a pre-agreed deposit settlement demonstrate a significant lack of professionalism and disregard for tenant affairs. Based on this experience, particularly the unacceptable delays surrounding my deposit return, I cannot recommend Pocock & Shaw's services.

We had a house viewing booked. Person doing the viewing knew nothing about the property- only had the information from the online listing. Told us that she ‘just handles the keys’. Complete waste of time - didn’t even know the chain situation. If you can’t send someone who at least pretends to know something about the house, don’t bother.

Very professional company and nice people. I was meant to buy a house which I found via this estate agent but had to pull out due to the pandemic. They were very polite and nice despite the circumstances, would recommend.
Had a great experience with Pocock + Shaw as our seller's estate agents while buying our first home. Alison was always really helpful and responsive, and made the whole process much less stressful despite issues with solicitors on both sides!
I rented a house through them for the last 18 months. They were easy to deal with and very responsive. I would use them again.
Took 4 phone calls just to get a viewing booked in. Did the viewing, asked for a call back so I could put in an offer, and they've never come back to me. That was 8 days ago
Never met an estate agent so uninterested in getting a sale. Would not recommend them at all.

I had very bad experience when closing the rental deposit from pocock and shaw. Their claim is just unacceptable and basically they need another month s rent . Very disappointed.

Having recently purchased an our new home via Pocock & Shaw in Ely, I was super impressed with their professionalism and relentless effort they gave with aiding the completion process.
Quite often, both vendors and buyers solicitors can be difficult to reach and receive updated from. What really impressed me was the effort that Elen from the Ely office gave with getting the completion over the line.
They are great communicators with all emails and telephone calls being answered promptly.

I rented a property managed by Pocock and Shaw for 3 years and had an excellent experience. Tony was always professional, helpful and quick to respond to any query or issue. Would strongly recommend them!
Where do I start? Moved into a rented property that was 'professionally cleaned'. Well it wasn't. After 2days in the property my dog had fleas and you could physically see them I the carpet along with black dog hair (my dog is white). Photos sent to to Pocock and received hostility.
2x windows leak water when raining, still not fixed.
Bath leaks into kitchen below, still not fixed.
No signal from TV aerial, get told its my responsibility to fix.
No stable heating or hot water source from November until May (kept tripping off sometimes even after a few seconds).
They decided to send an engineer with a key while no one was at home on 3 occasions. I had to point out this was illegal without content. They informed me they could as it was an emergency. I reminded them that I complained about the issue several months ago. Why was it not an emergency then?
An engineer explained that the water tank in loft area is overflowing and reported this to Pocock. No response. This has lead to increased water bill and now a leak into the master bedroom from the loft. The roof looks like it's about to fall in.
All in all, I understand that it is a collaboration from Pocock to the landlord. But all Pocock offer is hesitation, bad attitude and no urgency. They will only arrange something when it suits them. Shocking company and even worse staff members.
