Great binoculars for a newly converted birdwatcher.

These Celestron 20 x 50 binoculars are absolutely superb and great value. They are reasonably light weight and have incredible magnification. They can be used hand held but for a really still image it is better rest your arms against something solid. I have found a tripod is not necessary. I use them for spotting railway locomotive numbers at 300 metres plus distance. An added bonus is that they are incredible for looking at birds on our bird feeder. Don't bother spending loads of money on a more expensive brand, these binoculars do the job.

I went on the Procular Site as I wanted to get advice on types of binoculars and the best buys.I bought a pair of Celestron 20x50 Porro binoculars from Procular, as a birthday present for my son in law They were advertised as reduced from £181.00 to 159.99. My son in law is happy with the product but I have since found them online in numerous places so much cheaper and from as little as £49.99.
What is the retail cost of these binoculars and why is there such an extreme variation in the price? I thought I was buying a relatively expensive pair of binoculars but it seems I was wrong.

I bought the binoculars as a gift so have not used them however I would say that they are very small much smaller than I imagined but ok to put in a coat pocket

I bought the Nikon prostaff 10x42 as a retirement gift to myself. After a lot of research I chose these. I found procular on line and sent an enquiry e mail on a Sunday evening not expecting a reply until at least the next day - reply an hour later. Incredible! I ordered the Nikons the following day and they arrived the day after. Amazing service. The binoculars are absolutely brilliant. I wear glasses for reading and driving and actually don't need to wear them while using the Nikons although you can quite easily. Very good amount of light through them. Crystal clear vision. They are very comfortable to use and so light. So far an 'over the moon' customer.

These binoculars are great, they enable us to see the birds feeding in our garden up close. They are very easy to use with spectacles too. Will take them when we visit the coast or woods too, maybe a little heavy but worth it for the clarity. The strap on the case is sturdy. Would definitely recommend.

The binoculars were a surprise present for my wife. She is very pleased with them. The price was competitive and with safe delivery the next day the service cannot be faulted.

So far the binoculars are excellent quality and clarity but I have only tried them in my garden.

The binoculars are good, but the carrying frame is very poor, cheap get no more, not to be used.

Having to post this poor review yet again, still waiting for a response from Procular about the faulty, leaky tripod I bought last year. No doubt a deluge of five star 'invited' (cough cough) reviews will ensue once more in order to hide this. All these real, genuine customers writing in to gush about how wonderful the company that sold them their binoculars is. The truth is, until the money changes hands, Procular are great, very quick and efficient, but if you have an issue, as I do, with a faulty product, you will receive no response. Very poor, very unprofessional and could so easily have been rectified by responding to my enquiry.
