This company is a SCAM
This company is a SCAM. Do not ordfer an engine from them. My story is similar to what others have said. They will first tell you your shipment is "delayed". Then you will be told your engine was shipped to the wrong place, or the wrong carrier picked up. I'm 6 weeks into the process and still do not have an engine, and nobody will give me information or talk with me. They hang up on me and will not return phone calls. I'm trying to get a refund and have asked my credit card company to get a refund. I plan to file complaints with BBB and the FBI.

I am highly disappointed with the way this company has given me the runaround and treated me it took me three days of calling three days of voice messages no one ever called me back just to find out on what date was my refund processed then I find out that they charged me a 25% cancellation fee!!!! That was $305 of a cancellation fee that was not made aware to me that they claim is in their contract I am not done with this company yet but I can definitely tell you to stay away from them and do not order from them because if you have to cancel your item you have to pull teeth without any Novocain to get a hold of anybody to get any answers for any refund issues the customer service is very rude they transfer you when you are midsentence they hang up on you seriously very disappointed from a customer standpoint!!!!
Nightmare
We order a motor Aug. 10th expecting to have a "Quality" engine in just a few weeks the joke was us. Fast forward 7 weeks, I receive a sad excuse of an engine that looks like it has spent its life in the harshest of environments. As expected I had to swap parts over and reuse some, problem with that the engine was so rusted that I ended up breaking a few bolts off. It desperately needed new exhaust manifold gaskets, but again the rust was too scary to even attempt in fear that it would be a machinist nightmare.
Save your time, and spend your money elsewhere, their "Quality Used Engine" is sh-it.
Now onto the customer service side, that's a nightmare in itself. Call to find where you're motor is, and after being on the phone for a good amount of time they say they are transferring you, only to get a message saying "that extension is not available" and the stupid system hanging up on you. So after that you're back to square one, trying to get ahold of an actual person. Just to try and track the engine that should have been here weeks ago.
I would prefer no stars if they allowed…
I would prefer no stars if they allowed it.Buyer beware! I have no idea how this Company can continue to screw over people and still be in business.Once they get your money your on your own.I bought a used engine for a 2012 Kia.The Kia is a standard shift. After I ordered the engine I wasn’t sure if the one I ordered would work for a manual transmission. So I called them and spoke with Dale.He said thing you called back because the motor I ordered would only fit a automatic transmission.I said ok.I need one for a manual transmission. He told me they cost more and would just put the difference of $825 added to the $1670 on my credit card. The mechanic called me to tell me there was no clutch plate and that he could make it work if I bought one.$325 later .I tried to get my money back and they refuse to refund me.Stay as far away from this so called company as possible.I wish I would have seen the horrible reviews before I bought the engine.Complete Joke!!
Stay away
I ordered an engine on July 31st of this year. The lady on the phone told me that I should receive my engine in 7 to 10 business days. I called back to check on my motor and the person that answer the phone then told me it was 7 to 14 business days. on the 14th business day I received an email saying there was a slight delay in sending out my order and that they would get back to me as soon as it shipped. When I called to cancel my order , every time I mentioned the word refund they would hang up the phone .which ever Representative I reached on the phone. It took me calling 7 times to actually get somebody on the phone, that person was rude and unprofessional, but then again everyone I spoke to was rude and unprofessional there. I was told the refund would take 7 to 10 business days, so on the 10th day when I hadn't received my refund I called to inquire about it, again Representatives would hang up on me. Bottom line, this company will take your money in a second but after that treat you like crap. I don't think this company has any of the engines they list on their website. I think the second you place an order , they start scouring the salvage yards for a motor. Bottom line stay away from this company you'll regret doing business with them .
Quality Used Engines is a complete…
Quality Used Engines is a complete scam. Don't do it! I waited two weeks and engine still not shipped. Anyone ordering an engine needs it asap. Duh. Shipping dept. Kept telling me my 1,420.00 engine was under quality control, testing and cleaning. Okay.......whatever. I stopped payment on my credit and cancelled the card as well. Scam..scam..Scam. One more thing. That sales rep Allen is a big jerk to say it kindly. I'm not sure how this company had a 4 to 5 star rating. They must be entering that info themselves. Don't trust thus company. Thank you for nothing except stress and a headache Quality Used Engines. My next step is contacting BBB. Oh but you must know you have already been reported. Good bye scammers! 😁 To anyone who reads this please check out Better Business Bureau for this lying, cheating, outlandish company.
Worst company I’ve ever done business with
This company is a total scam. Ordered a motor from them and didn’t receive any emails or calls regarding my order within a month. After calling them a half of dozen times I finally was able to talk to a manager. After letting him know that I never seen any tracking on my order and could not get ahold of anyone I told him I wanted a refund and that they could keep their motor. He kept trying to sell me the motor and after arguing with him about it he hung up on me. I would never do business with this company and never would suggest them. If you want to get ripped off this is the company that would make that happen.
Great experience with them!
They definitely don’t get in a hurry, but if you read all the details you won’t be disappointed. 5-7 day delivery after your order is processed, I knew it wasn’t going to be quick, so I ordered my motor and like a month later it showed up, very clean low mileage engine just like it said, I removed the valve covers and intake manifold to use my own and the engine looked brand new inside!! I used a bore scope to look in the cylinders and there wasn’t anything that didn’t look new, the website said 20,000 miles but idk if it had that! Installed it in my truck and still runs like a new one today and that was a year ago!! Just thought I would put my positive experience on here because there is definitely a lot of negative ones, lol
Quality used engines is a bad company
Quality used engines is a bad company. They will tell you your engine will be delivered within 5 to 7 business days and when you cancel because your engine never arrive they charge you 25%. They will take your money. Don’t buy from this people. It’s a nightmare dealing with them.
NOT 1 REVIEW OVER 1 STAR SINCE 2015!!!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS! I am a shop owner writing about an experience for my customer. My customer is from out of town and needed an engine replaced in his truck. Normally I never allow customers to purchase and provide their own parts, but I made an exception this once trying to help them out and save them money. If I had known, I wouldn't have allowed this company to send a engine to begin with. The 1st engine was sent back in March. There was no problem with shipping of the 1st engine, It was sent on a nice crate and looked good. We completed the engine swap and shortly after during a road test we noticed the oil pressure would drop to 0 at stop signs. Long story, short, finally got them to agree to have us pull the engine back out and oil pan/oil pick up tube was covered in metal shavings. Main bearings were bad, engine was junk. Over 2 months later we get a 2nd replacement engine. This one was delivered in horrible condition! I've seen engines from a junkyard in better condition, engine was laying on it's side just thrown on a pallet, all lines/hoses/wire harness were just cut causing more labor time to get it ready for install. After install was complete, truck would not start. More labor was spent diagnosing why it was a no start and found two cylinders with very low compression. 2nd engine also junk. My customer is now contacting an attorney because they will no longer answer phone calls or emails. 5 months and 2 engines later and this truck is still not running.
Document and report them. Don’t be another victim
I paid $1670 for a engine with “~31k miles”, on 5/6/20. I received a locked motor with 89k miles ( last reported mileage 5/2018, verified by VIN look up) on 6/3/20. I called 3 times about the delay in shipping and was told the same lie 3 times. I was told that the contracted carrier “no-showed” the scheduled pick up just two days earlier and they were working on getting a new carrier. The info that came with the engine shows that the engine was purchased on 6/1/20 from a company in Oregon, shipped to another company in Missouri on 6/2/20, then shipped the same day (6/2/20) to me and received on 6/3/20. There were no intentions on their part to provide me the engine that was quoted to me, because they never possessed the actual engine represented in their online quote. I attempted to call their customer service rep “Chad”. I was told that I needed a mechanics report for him to give me a refund. The fact that they sent me a engine that did not match the purchased/ quoted item is fraud and that alone is grounds for a full refund. When I told Chad that, he started to yell and the call was ended.
Save all of your shipping documents, part tags, bill of lading, emails, quotes, photos and communication. Law enforcement will need original documents for investigation.
If you were truly a victim of “bait and switch” or sold an engine or part which did not match any of the quoted info, file a complaint with the FBI. You can file an IC3 report online. It takes about 20-30 minutes. If you have more documentation/ facts to report it may take you more time.
File with the Wisconsin BBB, they will give you additional information (additional reporting and resources).
File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
Sent me the wrong engine and refuse to make it right
I ordered an engine and gave them the VIN number from the vehicle. They sent me the wrong engine and will not send me the right one. This place is shady.
0 Stars
If i can leave a review with no stars i would.i purchased an engine with 65k miles on it. not only did they deliver to the wrong location that took about a month to get back; but they also sent a defective engine. i spent an additional $2,000 to get this engine properly installed and ever since then the engine has been giving me several issues. We went to several mechanics and honda dealerships and they all stated there was an internal issue with the engine. I tried contacting the sales and warranty department about this and they were extremely unpleasant by not only hanging up on me several times but also not providing any type of quality customer service. I am very tempted to filing a lawsuit with this company because at this point this is fraud and embezzlement.
Horrible experience and it is not done…
Horrible experience and it is not done yet. I purchased an engine and paid $$$$ on 4/17. Shipping time is reasonable within their 7-14 business days. As I follow-up each week, I am told it is going through “Quality Control” - great! I fee it is an important process for sellers to back their merchandise. Upon arrival at the shop, my mechanic drained the oil pan only to discover a “coffee with cream” color oil coming out of the drain plug on Friday, 5/17. Hmmmm. Quality Control? Now, I’m in the process of trying to get my money back, however, I am not getting any responses back from Chad Whyte, besides being told to “be patient”. Been patient since I bought a horrible conditioned engine. Apparently, he’s the only one who can assist with my issue, from their customer service team... It’s now 5/21 and am still waiting for any correspondence as to what the next steps would be.... Horrible.

Purchase a motor that supposed to have 87k on it, ran the vin once i got the motor and found it has 215k on it. THEY WILL NOT REIMBURSE MY MECHANIC FEE for already taking my old engine out and putting the new one in. THESE GUY ARE SCAMMERS, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
Total scammers...ordered x5 bmw diesel…
Total scammers...ordered x5 bmw diesel motor with allegedly 47 K on it on guess what it has closer to 147k on it. I'm not tolerating being taken for a ride.
Asked 5 times for a vin that the motor was removed from......got nothing!
They deserve everything that is going to hit them.Paperwork from our attorney is on the way. They need to be exposed
Never spend .10 with them
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM QUALITY USED…
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM QUALITY USED ENGINES.
We had to contact them repeatedly to get the engine initially. Including a threatening email before they shipped it to our mechanic more than a month later. They took out our $1,520 the day we ordered it though.
Our mechanic is a master mechanic who works in a reputable shop. After he finished installing the engine, he drove it about 30 minutes and it started to make really loud noises.
Our mechanic has already put in about $2,000 in labor. He called the company, we called the company repeatedly. They never returned our calls or the threatening email I sent about contacting our credit card company.
I called our credit card company. They are going to investigate and dispute the charge. We do have to return the motor for the credit card company to dispute it. Idk how much that will cost to ship.
We’re going to look for a rebuilt engine from a reputable company. Our mechanic suggested we check BBB before ordering another engine.
We’ve since found several with A+ ratings where we could have bought a rebuilt engine for about $700 more.
I checked BBB. Quality Used Engines has an F rating.
I hope everyone who wrote a review will post on QUE’s twitter feeds about their experience. They have 4 twitter feeds. Just look for Quality Used Engines.
I had to put my review on Facebook as a comment under their previous posts. I copied and pasted to several comments so more people can see it before being ripped off.
Anyway, good luck to everyone. I hope these reviews will help some other poor soul.
Our mechanic is a great guy. He said he won’t charge us for the labor on the bad motor. Just for the labor on a rebuilt one. We are really fortunate. Other people would have had to pay $2,000 in labor twice. And he works in a good shop. This has been such a hassle. I haven’t been able to drive my car since January.
This is a total scammer company. Stay away!!!
This is a total scammer company. I wish I saw these 1 star reviews before I bought an engine. They have now sent me 2 bad engines and their warranty for labor only at $50/hr isn’t enough to pay for replacing it. I’ve spent more than my car is worth how and still have a bad engine. How can these people sleep at night?!
I wouldn't have even given this place a…
I wouldn't have even given this place a one star rate if there was a way to write a review without it. They deserve 0 Stars and should seriously be shut down for good. Under their false and misleading info on their site and after speaking with a rep. I purchased an engine from que. Huge mistake. Upon receiving my E receipt I discovered all sorts of unexplained statements about the warranty, shipping, guarantee, handling process and hidden charges. I immediately cancelled my order and now they are refusing to refund my money even though the engine was never shipped out. $1245.00 right down the drain and no employee will speak with me about this matter. So I've notified my bank and my next step is getting an attorney. Stay far away from this crappy crappy company. if there's anyone else that's posted a review on this place and would like to join me in starting a class action lawsuits and investigation into this business please feel free to contact me via this site. I need as many people as possible to sing the petition ASAP so that we can get it in the hands of a consumer attorney. I'm currently working on filing a report with the BBB and national board of consumer protection agency. I will be checking reviews repeatedly on a daily basis. T I A I hope to get your support on this matter.
Scammers
Scammers, bouts engine for 2,300 with 66,000 miles, paid for installation, mechanic was able to start engine but bad rattle on top end, when removed noticed it was a rebuilt jasper engine. Recieved 2nd engine #1 cylinder not firing, very low compression. Recieved 3rd engine, installed driven 3,ooo miles and something loose in engine. Called and was told I had used my warranty on first engine. I have paid for 3 installs plus 2,300 and recieved 2,200 from quality engines saying they were refunding my money and have no warranty. None of these engines were checked before shipping to me. Rather deal with local scarp yard at least they will call back. Worst engine experience I've had in 75 years! A 1 star is too high.
