Irritation

I found my attempt to update my policy very difficult.I couldn't print off the advice and I resent having to pay to update on the phone,This should be done away with.

I would not recommend RIAS Home…

I would not recommend RIAS Home Insurance if you are relying on their legal expenses cover.

I made a claim for an employment dispute. Initially, my claim was rejected outright on the basis it fell outside the policy period. This was incorrect. After I challenged the decision, their claims handler, reviewed the case and confirmed that my unfair dismissal claim was actually covered.

The claim was then passed to solicitors for a “prospects of success” assessment (51% threshold). They declined to fund it. However, I have since been advised separately that my case does have strong prospects, just not under their funding criteria.

What this shows in practice:

The claim was initially declined on the wrong basis
It was only corrected after I pushed back
Even when accepted, there is another hurdle that can still block support

Overall, the cover feels very limited when you actually need it. You pay for protection, but when a real situation arises, the process makes it extremely difficult to access meaningful support.

Based on my experience, I would not rely on RIAS for legal expenses cover.

Bloody Dear

I bought car insurance with yourselves as it was a great price, I’m in the process of changing my car and asked for my cover to reflect my new car, The price quoted was EXTORTIONATE as I’ve now cancelled the policy with yourselves and that was a RIP OFF! And got better cover at less than 1/2 the price you quoted !

I a very disappointed with RIAS they will loose my home insurance as well
