Used their new ‘One Coat Everywhere’ product. Again water-based rubbish. Sold as durable, grease proof, can wash it down etc. Wiped once with a damp cloth, ever so lightly, and you can see the marks where the micro fibre cloth has marked the sheen in the paint.
It’s basically just cheap emulsion with clever branding. Does not perform how the labels would lead you to believe.

Terrible Terrible product.
Ronseal fence life + 5 year ( safe)
This stuff is terrible. Just horrible runny jelly like substance, no matter how much you mix it. It just doesn’t stick to the brush or the wood. Coat after coat and the stuff just disappeared from the wood. It seems to be 90 % water with a hint of colour. Its just complete garbage. Will go with a different brand and restart as it’s just horrible and un usable.
I took one tub back to the shop as I originally though it was off but it appears this is just how it it.

We purchased graphite interior varnish for our wooden living room floor after reading some reviews saying it was the best and you could walk across it in high heels and it wouldn't chip. My husband spent hours and a lot of money preparing the floor ready to varnish and he followed ALL directions on the tin whilst applying it. It came out really thick like paint and you couldn't see the wood grain through it. We thought that once it had time to soak in it would look different the next day. However it didn't, it was applied less than a month and it was already looking scuffed and chipped. It has now been 3 months since it was done and it looks like it's been down years.

How are Ronseal allowed to sell this?
And what exactly is it? It like painting using runny jelly, when comes into contact with a porous surface it evaporates instantaneously. Like a really bad magic trick.

Anyone wishing to sign up to a Class Action claim against Ronseal products? Like the thousands and thousands of people told that they have not applied the product properly, its an insult having paid so much money to them for such inferior products! 5 year product promise?? They have stopped replying to me now, so it isn't ending here. Unlike Ronseal products, I promise to ensure a satisfactory result! I even have the backing of Trading Standards whom have advised the course of action I need to take.

Never again am I spending £28 x 2 tins of ronseal slate coloured fence paint. I have 15 fence panels to paint and 1 panel is taking 4 coats and it still needs another 1 or 2.. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON TINS OF WATER.. IT WILL TAKE YOU FOREVER!!!!!

I bought a tin of Ronseal"10 year, performance guarantee weatherproof wood paint" recently and I am very disappointed. I am not a professional but have done enough painting to be able to gauge a good enough paint and this one is awful. 10 year guarantee! I could be coating with this paint on the same door for 10 years and still do not have confidence it will do the job. I don't know if it's a ploy so people buy more of their paint to do the job but it certainly works the other way with me as I "WILL NOT" be purchasing anything Ronseal again at this rate. I was saying to my wife about the fence paint is probably still good but after reading the reviews about that on here I will be giving that a wide berth also.

ronseal ultimate decking stain. Complained about this product last year because it was so awful. after much to and fro (how did i prepare decking how did i paint decking replied i have been painting my decking for 20 plus years) they sent me vouchers for the same product!! so maybe it was a bad batch so try again. if possible its even worse this year big lumps of clay like substance suspended in a watery solution. my paint stirrer was useless and i don't have the machine that b and q use to mix paint. so i chucked it out and used my £6 johnson and spear decking stain which went on like a dream

I wish i had read the reviews before i bought this RUBBISH, absolute piss take saying this is 1 coat. Consistency of water and this will take a minimum of 3 coats or more to do the job. I will not buy any other Ronseal products in future after this.

I received the item on the sunniest day of the year so far and decided to apply it straight away. However, on opening the packaging I discovered the tin had been leaking despite the lid being taped down. There was solution all over the handle, the tin and the inside of the bag. Looks like another wait for a new delivery and a sunny day. Ronseal - leaks from the tin.

I bought some Ronseal fence + paint and it’s awful! My fence has taken 3 coats and it’s still patchy so I’m sadly going to have to buy another tin ( or tins ) of paint on top of the 10 litres I’ve already purchased. I was expecting 2 coats as some of my fencing was freshly cut bare wood, but 3-4 is an horrendous amount of work. I went with ronseal as I used some of their products to paint fencing with about 5/6 years ago and it was fantastic.

Have used Ronseal Decking paint (Willow) for the last 5 years or so on Decking, Shed, Summerhouse etc due to how well it covered irrespective of the condition of the wood. It only ever needed one coat and one pot would go a long way !
However, have recently bought 3 tins of the supposed same product from 3 different suppliers and all of them have been useless, the paint is little thicker than water and does not even cover previously painted surfaces and has no effect at all on bare wood. I have tried all manner of stirring and mixing methods in an attempt to thicken the paint with no success at all. Initially I assumed I had purchased a faulty tin hence buying 2 more from different sources, but the paint quality from each of 3 tins were equally inadequate and unusable. These tins are not cheap but I don't mind paying a premium for a good product .. this one used to be, but unfortunately most certainly isn't anymore !

Had new decking laid last October and finalised in December. My Chippy Used Ronseal Decking Stain as per instructions including outside temperature and spent 2 days giving it 3 coats.
In less than 6 weeks the Ronseal Stain has peeled ??? contacted Ronseal, gave them all the details of the Stain, Pictures, Dates etc and have since heard nothing despite 3 original emails day 1 in response to Ronseal's 2 emails with info required, then 2 further email asking how they intend to remedy the situation both have been met with a resounding Silence.
I can see a MCOL being submitted for the costs of the original work and further claims to rectify the issues if Ronseal has not even got the courtesy to respond

Bought £20 tin of Ronseal metal paint to paint
Outside table & chairs.
Did everything what the instructions said on the tin.
I can scrape my finger nail on the metal painted.
It just comes off in flakes ( not bonded to alliminium )
I contacted Ronseal over 4 weeks with numerous emails. They came up with numerous excuses but not an answer.I gave up contacting them in the end they would not admit a problem.(It does not do what it says on the tin?)

Ronsea floorpaint dried patchy - different shades of grey even after thorough stirring. I used it on timberfloorboards and on some mdf steps - equally patchy results. In the end I bought some floorpaint from B&Q and got a much better even result. Little Greene floorpaint is also good. I will never use Ronseal again - it has cost me a lot of time and effort to correct the poor result.

I bought one coat fence life in June and I painted my fence. The paint is gone off the fence already. Im going to return what's left of this absolutely rubbish product for a full refund. A complete and total waste of days of my time painting a 3/4 acre of fencing around a field.

After many years of using Ronseal wood stains and polyurethane varnishes (1980s, early 90s) always with great results, I thought I would try their paint, but it came as a big disappointment to find that the "knot block wood primer and undercoat" definitely does NOT do what it says on the tin.
After 3 coats on redwood architraving, the knots were still visible, and I ended up undercoating with some oil based paint before finishing.
HOWEVER, what came as an even bigger disappointment was Ronseal's response. I lost so much time with this I felt that I should write to Ronseal, explain the problem, offer to return the remaining 1/2 tin and in return get a refund or replacement, as it must be faulty.
(having since read B&Qs large number of 1*reviews on this product, it can clearly be of poor quality).
Ronseal, in fairness did respond, but weren't interested in helping unless I could produce photographic evidence of the problem, which, as job was complete at this time, I couldn't do.
So the upshot is that they have lost another customer, and have sent out the message that their reputation isn't worth the price of a 750ml tin of paint.
*EDIT*.....
They did respond to this review, however, and I received a refund.

Ronseal wood filler, bought from Edinburgh B+Q. The consistency of the product meant it was impossible to squeeze out the plastic tube it came in and tube had to be cut open to use the small amount I needed rendering the rest useless. Nine pounds fifty wasted! Will never use Ronseal again. Didn’t do what it said on the tin! Or plastic tube in this case.

Bought anti condensation paint Matt white for kitchen ceiling, was an absolute disaster. As soon as I rolled it onto the ceiling it clumped up, tried different rollers but still clumpy. Ruined the ceiling. Caused so much distress. Wasted my time and energy. Have never experienced anything like it in my entire life.so disappointment.
