Absolutely wonderful
Absolutely wonderful.
I have a very nervous dog who has had a rocky past. I've been using Royvon for the past 2.5yrs for short 1 night stays and longer (7 nights).
The workers really know what my dog likes, needs and wants. It is clear how much they actually do and care for your dog. I love the updates with photos and proper information on how they're getting on.
My lovely dog now feels completely at ease which something I can't say about any other place/ people apart from me really!
Special thanks to Rhiann for always taking extra care of Rosie.

My anxious dog came home relaxed
My anxious dog came home chilled out and much less reactive. There's still work to do with her but now I feel I have somewhere to start. And I've been shown how to work with her.
I felt completely happy that she was in a good place and well cared for, as well as getting some first class training.

Royvon Bridgend couldn’t do a better…
Royvon Bridgend couldn’t do a better job looking after our Staffy Ruby. Whenever we drop her off there she goes racing into the building she is so excited to be there.
Recently she had a Play Day and was thoroughly exhausted and happy when we picked her up. We received her ‘Enrichment Report’ with photos and updates of how her day was going. She obviously loved it.
We’re dropping her off soon for a 10 day stay when we go on our next holiday abroad for her ‘Deluxe All Inclusive’ break! We know she’ll have the best time there as all the staff are committed to their doggy guests being very well taken care of. We have great peace of mind knowing she’s having the best care available.

Tailored boarding for anxious miniature poodle
We recently boarded our elderly miniature poodle at Royvon Esher using their Tailored Boarding for Anxious Dogs service, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Our dog is quite nervous and has some health issues, so we were naturally very worried about how she would cope. However, from the moment we dropped her off, the team at Royvon gave her such thoughtful care and attention.
Throughout her stay, we received regular updates, including detailed reports and lovely photos that clearly showed how well she was settling in. It was reassuring to see her enjoying her woodland walks and the one-on-one attention from the staff. She looked genuinely content and relaxed.
When we picked her up, she was bright, happy, and clearly well cared for. We’re so grateful to the team at Royvon for making her stay such a positive experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to board her there again.

We have tried to make contact with…
We have tried to make contact with Royvon concerning our dog that was in their care, and still yet to hear anything back from them. We had been led to believe that our dog would gain the necessary life skills and obedience to accompany us anywhere, but unfortunately, the reality has been quite the opposite since leaving Royvon 6 months ago. His reactivity has worsened, and we are now unable to walk him past dogs and people on the street without severe reactions. In fact, we have had to resort to using a muzzle for safety, which was not something we paid thousands to end up doing. He is now petrified of men, unsure why this has happened since being in your care, but we need some kind of explanation and support in helping our dog. The only positive we have taken away from Royvon, is the knowledge that we can use a ball to try to distract our dog when he is reactive, not sure that it’s great value for money.

After reading your review, we carried out a full review of Bear’s time with us, including a detailed conversation with his trainer, Romeo. It’s now clear that your review is based on a genuine case — initially, we couldn’t match it as Bear was booked under your partner’s name, Lee.
Bear's Training and Behaviour
Bear is a working-line German Shepherd with a notably high prey drive — more challenging than many dogs we see through our Behaviour Modification Programme. Romeo highlighted that, while progress was indeed slower than average, Bear left us in a better place than when he arrived. He showed no signs of fear or aggression toward humans during his stay or follow-up sessions. In fact, he was handled daily by multiple members of the team with no concern, and any mention of fear towards men only surfaced after his return home — which we understand must be distressing for you.
We also want to acknowledge that your move to a new home around that same period can have a major impact on a dog’s behaviour, especially one as sensitive and reactive as Bear.
Our Continued Support
Romeo remained in contact with you until early December and offered four additional complimentary training sessions (worth over £500) beyond what was included in your package, in an effort to support Bear’s continued development. He followed up multiple times to arrange these sessions, but unfortunately received no reply after December 1st. These sessions were never taken up, and this is truly a missed opportunity for additional progress — especially as we never stop supporting a dog and family who stay engaged with us.
We also offer remote/online support where in-person attendance becomes difficult, and this offer remains open to you.
Trainer Commitment
Since Bear’s training, Romeo has received 29 separate 5-star Google reviews, with customers specifically thanking him for his patience, skill, and commitment to their dogs’ success. His track record and dedication speak for themselves. Notably, your review doesn’t mention Romeo by name — we believe this is because you cannot fault the support and care he provided. What’s being faulted is the final result — and in cases like Bear’s, owner continuation is key. We always aim to guide and empower you through that process, not leave you to manage it alone.
Moving Forward
Naomi, we would genuinely love for you and Lee to re-engage with us. Romeo remains open and willing to support you both, and Bear, through further sessions — either in person or remotely. Our goal is always the same: to help every dog live a calmer, more confident life, and to support their families at every step.

We have an anxious rescue
We have an anxious rescue, and Tilly and the team did an amazing job handling him. I am so happy that he was able to take group walks and had group play! It was a very anxious period for us, as we haven’t been away from him pretty much since we got him 4 years ago. Whilst he has much improved with us, I think that visits in the future will further boost his confidence.
Very grateful to Royvon Esher for their patience and empathy (with our dog and with us).

Exceeded expectations
Lola, my 23 month old GSD recently completed an overnight evaluation at Royvon, Esher.
Lola needs to be boarded in a couple of months time. The thought of leaving Lola with anyone worried me as she is very sensitive and can have quite challenging behaviour when faced with new people and situations.
I did my research and Royvon looked a good match. They clearly know and understand GSDs. That confidence comes through in the trainers at Royvon.
Lola is very sensitive and can be reactive to new people and environments. She also does not like being touched by anyone except her closest family members. These factors can make caring for Lola away from home - and me - very difficult.
Prior to drop off I was able to give all this information and more via an online portal specific to Lola. The lovely reception team were also on hand to answer my many calls and questions prior to booking and subsequently Lola’s first visit.
Hand over with the amazing Kelsey, Lola’s 1:1 trainer for the duration of her stay, gave me another opportunity to voice any concerns and reiterate important info regarding my beautiful girl.
I dropped Lola off on Thursday morning.
Kelsey was calm, professional and totally in control. I had mentioned I was dreading the drop off as Lola gets very anxious if I leave her anywhere.
I simply handed over the lead and that was it. No drama!
Just a few hours later I received a detailed report and file containing film clips and photos of my best girl having cuddles with Kelsey, meeting other dogs in a controlled environment and playing, taking treats and doing all the things I never believed she would do for anyone else. And certainly not in such a short period of time.
The second day dawned and I was freshly concerned as previous kennels had been unable to get Lola out of the actual kennel once she was in there.
However a further going home handover and overnight report at the end of the second and final day showed not only had Lola been out of her kennel but she had also been on a woodland walk and to the park, playing with her favourite ball.
The photos and film clips I received over the two days were emotional.
Anyone with a dog knows how hard it is to leave them.
When you have a ‘big’ dog, who is anxious and can react your world becomes smaller as leaving them can be a challenge.
It is no exaggeration to say Royvon has changed this. I am genuinely looking forward to booking Lola in for more play dates and confidence sessions not only before her summer stay but after.
I cannot believe how much progress has been made in such a short space of time.
Seeing my absolute best friend enjoying all the things I really never thought she would enjoy away from me and being confident and showing trust is all down lovely, caring and genuine people at Royvon.
I thoroughly recommend these guys and further more I honestly feel that if Lola could write a review, she would also give them 5 stars.

Amazing
Our Saint Bernard Captain has stayed with Royvon Merthyr on numerous occasions and I couldn’t fault any visit. All the staff are friendly and really care about his time at Royvon, they go over and above to make his stay as comfortable as possible. The daily reports are lovely and I can really see that captain loves his time there. I also really like the fact you can tailor each visit by adding extras like group play, enrichment sessions etc… this occasion captain had a bath and came home smelling lovely. Steven was very easy to chat to and seemed to really enjoy spending time with Captain.
Would highly recommend Royvon.

Very good reactive Dog Training
I highly recommend Royvon. My reactive dog stayed at Royvon Merthyr Tydfil for three weeks for training with Anna. It was very difficult to leave him but we received 16 videos of the training, all with comments, over the 21 days and lots of photographs of our dog playing. Having collected him we had an hour with Anna to explain the training methods, we then had two further visits as follow ups. After ten weeks of us training him at home our dog is much calmer around people and other dogs. He still reacts if dogs get too close when he's not ready, but he's much better and with continued training I'm sure he will improve further. The only thing that would have improved my experience would have been having more sessions with Anna watching me train my dog, so that Anna could train me, maybe over 2 to 3 consecutive days. I think that we I would have applied the training better and would have seen much faster progress.

Excellent Playdays.
I have 2 adult border collies with different issues, one being over active and anxious of noises and the other being overweight and slightly lazy. They have been attending playdays separately for 3 weeks now and have both become better in their own right. The staff are amazing and both my dogs cannot wait to go in on their day. Jack is becoming more playful and I am carrying these games on at home and Blue is less anxious of being away from me and Jack and enjoying his activities.

Best Experience
We were recommended to enrol Daisy, our 21/ 2-year-old Border Collie with Royyvon for 1:1 training by a friend. We'd been having problems with recall, jumping at people, and aggressive behaviour at times with Daisy. It was really stressful on morning walks not knowing how she would be that day.
We decided to enrol Daisy and us for 6 sessions of 1:1 training, turns out it was one of the best decisions we've made where Daisy's concerned.
Fletcher was our trainer, and what an incredible young man he is. Over the 6 sessions he worked on each of Daisy's weaknesses, at the same time explaining to us the methods to use for us to continue. Fletcher, you've changed our lives, and life with Daisy is so much better now, and morning walks are no longer stressful. Thank you so much.

No hesitation in giving a BIG 5 star…
No hesitation in giving a BIG 5 star rating for Royvon, particularly for Romeo who worked wonders with recall and general obedience for our border collie pup when he did boarding training when he was younger. So we didn’t hesitate to book a package of 1:1 sessions when our dog became nervous and reactive in his adolescence. Our dog loves Romeo so much and has learned so much from him. He has also been helping us as owners so that we can employ the same techniques at home

We HIGHLY recommend Royvon, all their staff and in particular Romeo and are so very grateful for everything they have done for us and Bleu. We had never left Bleu before in two and a half years and were so nervous to leave him, especially since he can sometimes be slightly reactive. Not only was Bleu happy at Royvon, he excelled with Romeo and has learnt so much. Finally we can go away and relax, knowing he is in VERY GOOD hands and Royvon will be his second home. Romeo is an excellent and highly skilled trainer and is so patient with Bleu and us, when explaining everything we need to know about what Bleu is learning. We thank Royvon and especially Romeo for their care of Bleu. We know Bleu is in great hands and appreciate Romeo so much. From the updates, to the photos, to the training, the residential training programme is worth every penny. We highly recommend Royvon, all their staff and Romeo! Thank you!! Bleu will be back! X

What a team!
We have used Royvon for our very anxious dog and they have been incredibly accommodating and patient with him.
The team is always available and attentive. We get daily updates and feedback which is always thoughtful and helpful.

Changes for the worse.
We’ve always used fur indoor/royvon for boarding but the recent changes have put us off.
Massive price increases and staff levels have decreased. Everyone there looks shattered and stressed.
Lately it’s become impossible to book a space for day care, I assume because of a lack of staff as the photos on social media do not show a high volume of dogs.
Will be looking elsewhere for care for our dogs.

Thank you for your previous custom. While we too loved Fur Indoors and therefore wanted to add the site to the Royvon family, it was unfortunately loss-making. No business can exist at a loss so we had to make some hard changes to ensure the much-loved facilities could stay open and looking after dogs. This has meant necessary price rises. At the moment we are mid-negotiations with Bridgend local authority around dog-to-staff ratios and managing them as best we can in the meantime.
Avoid if you love your dog.
Since the takeover from fur indoors the place in general has gone down hill massively.
Along with all the outrageous price hikes and claims of ‘the place doesn’t make any money waaa’ (enough for the owner to go to Las Vegas on a ‘business trip’ though!) they’ve now reduced the amount of dogs who can go to their day care facility from 30 to 12.( great money making strategy there!!) This means people who need to use the day care are no longer able to book, but also this means the poor dogs who are locked in the kennels are also not going to day care.
Along with this, Staff say their hours are being reduced, often leaving one person alone to care for all the dogs. I recently overheard a member of staff say that the dogs in the boarding kennels aren’t even let out for the toilet before 10am as there’s not enough staff.
Perhaps the owners should stop buying blue paint and silly signs for the building and focus on the dogs they claim to care about.
This place should be avoided if you love your dog.

This review is disappointing to receive as it does not reflect the hard work and dedication put in by the whole team at Royvon Playhouse. A large part of your review appears to be an objection to making Royvon Playhouse a successful business and part of our wider brand. At the moment we are mid-negotiations with Bridgend local authority around dog-to-staff ratios and managing them as best we can in the meantime. Regardless, dog walking starts at 6am and continues throughout they day until 10pm so your source of information is incorrect.
There will be no excuses made for the trip to the fantastic Dog Boarding and Daycare Expo in Las Vegas which has been the source of many of our innovations over the last 20 years, including the playhouse concept. Followers of Royvon will see the result of this year’s inspiring talks over the coming months as we introduce Royvon Play Days and Royvon Day School.
