We are a group of friendly, expert, optical practices who have served our communities in South East London, North Kent and Surrey for decades.
We have many years of experience in taking care of all our customers’ eye care needs and concerns. Our friendly team of eye care professionals offer quality eye care, optical products, and exemplary customer service to all of our clients. Our team of experienced optometrists, dispensing and contact lens opticians are dedicated to providing you with exceptional quality eye care services, at fair prices, you can trust us to take care of your eyesight and vision needs.
We offer a wide range of services including specialist eyecare, dry eye management, sunglasses, children’s eye care, myopia management and hearing care.
Our practices are located in Crystal Palace, East Dulwich Purley, Sydenham, Welling, and West Norwood. We look forward to welcoming you to the renowned Woodfalls experience.
We pride ourselves on the expert and friendly service we offer at each of our six branches.
The clinical reputation and range of services offered by Woodfalls has continued to grow, our success has been due to our committed optometrists, fully qualified dispensing and contact lens opticians, optical assistants and a team of dedicated support staff.
Our practices are fully equipped with the latest in optical equipment and all of our branches offer specialist services. We have the latest OCT (optical coherence tomography) machines at all six sites, we now also offer Optomap scanning, plus The Hearing Care Partnership to provide all things audiology.
As an independent group of opticians we dedicate the time necessary to ensure our customers receive the best care and advice. We work closely with our clinical partners to ensure we focus on our local communities and provide the very best clinical care.

Exceptional service at R Woodfall Opticians in Sydenham—Alex went above and beyond to repair my glasses and adjust another pair, all free of charge. Truly outstanding experience.
I visited R Woodfall Opticians in Sydenham today and had such a truly positive experience that I felt compelled to share it.
I wear my glasses full-time and usually keep two pairs, as I switch between them during the day. Unfortunately, I recently fell asleep wearing one pair and woke up to find them badly bent out of shape—unusable, slipping off my face, and beyond repair.
I stopped by R Woodfall Opticians with low expectations, since my glasses weren’t even bought in the UK. I was helped by Alex, who greeted me with a warm smile and genuine care. Without hesitation, he carefully repaired the damaged pair, taking his time to do it properly. To my surprise, he also adjusted the pair I was currently wearing—despite not having asked.
What stood out most was not only the technical skill but also the kindness and professionalism displayed throughout. There was no charge for any of this — just genuine, thoughtful service.
It’s rare to find places where people genuinely take pride in caring for their customers, regardless of whether a sale is involved. This was one of those moments that restores your faith in customer service.

Woodfall - my happy place to go
Woodfall is my happy place to go for service with a genuine smile. From the moment you phone for an appointment when staff greet you, to the time you enter the premises, staff smile at you whether you are being dealt with by them or not, and everyone, whether customer or member of staff is an individual.
The branch I attend is full of light, well designed, with good seating and all the staff are ready to assist customers, and each other.
The Optometrists are very well informed and give clear instructions and advice, and have provided support when it has been necessary to approach the Eye Clinic at the hospital.
There is a wide range of frames available and very experienced and knowledgeable staff to advise on suitability according to one's prescription.

I have an existing eye condition which means I have impaired vision. I have just had cataracts removed. The care I have been given at Woodfalls has been the best. Jackie, the dispensing optician was so patient and helpful in helping me choose new spectacles to make me feel confident. The entire team is welcoming whenever I attend. The best there is.
