I booked my BMW X2 idrive because of amber engine management appeared on the dashboard. I managed to get an early appointment with the help of the service adviser SHARON. She was very helpful to follow up my upcoming appointment. She’s even assisted me to set up my BMW app on my phone and explained it well and accompanied me to the car park when I was ready to pick up my car. And also I would like to include Hannah who rang me and just kept me updated of the work they’ve doing on my car. In fact all the staff in the reception is very accommodating and helpful. Excellent service from start to finish. Well recommended.
Disappointing purchase experience
Bought a rather expensive low mileage car from here, front of house staff were fine but the car with only 20k miles was very poorly prepared with amateur small paint repairs, burn marks in the paint due to unskilled buffing & internal cabin surfaces dirty, all rather disappointing
Ref your generic response to my comment, there is not a chance I will be bringing the car back for a hash up repair given your valet teams first appalling attempt thanks

Faceless organisation
Have been a loyal customer of BMW Sandal for many years, however I having an issue with one of BMW’s I found it necessary to complain. Then the true customer service appeared. They refused to meet me after many polite requests and just dismissed my concern. What business won’t even meet you to discuss your concerns, really. I have to say their customer service is extremely poor and dismissive. One clearly frustrated LOYAL customer.

Called in at Huddersfield
Called in at Huddersfield, looking for car , spoke to Luke and he found us the ideal car , from the receptionist to the sales manager they are absolutely brilliant , only downside, the valeters aren't brilliant , when I got the car home had to clean the rear windows as they had finger prints all over them , but I'm didn't complain because I was overall happy with the dealership , and everybody else , and how hard is it to clean a couple of windows yourself

Top-drawer buying experience
My wife and I bought a nearly new BMW 4-series from BMW Sandal Wakefield and the whole process was a pleasure. John Ledwold was the selling agent and was friendly, professional and supportive throughout, especially pleasing as we weren’t local buyers. We don’t normally write reviews but in this case the service we received, from initial telephone Reception Desk contact to car showroom pick up, was a deserved 5-star experience.

Disappointed with BMW Sandal – Poor Repair Standards and Customer Experience
I purchased a high-quality approved used car from BMW Sandal, specifically because I expected a premium standard of care and attention that independent dealerships might not offer. Sadly, my experience has been far from what I’d hoped.
At the time of handover, I immediately noticed a small hole (about 4mm) in the rear seat—something that should have been picked up during the Sandal's meticulous BMW pre inspection. It was hard to miss, which makes me question whether it was truly overlooked or simply ignored.
The car was brought back for repair, but the fix has left it looking noticeably worse. What was once a soft, glossy leather seat now has a rough, dull patch stretching approximately 200x300mm—completely out of step with the car’s otherwise pristine condition.
To make matters worse, the car was returned with a scratch on the rear bumper. covered in water marks, and with a round trip of nearly 200 miles of fuel used to enable the repair—all of which added to the frustration.
What stung most was being told the repair was of an “acceptable standard, particularly taking into account the age and mileage of the vehicle.” That kind of response feels dismissive to those of us who choose BMW for its reputation and are investing in well-cared-for used vehicles.
After speaking with Sytner BMW Tamworth over the weekend, I was told frankly that the seat repair would not have passed their standards. They were surprised the damage wasn’t caught earlier, and stated it would have been picked up during their pre-preparation checks—before the customer even saw the vehicle.
This experience has really shaken my confidence in the BMW brand and the consistency of quality across dealerships.

Purchased a used BMW from Sandal BMW in Wakefield. The service received was exemplary. Louis Cosgrave dealt with our purchase flawlessly, I would not hesitate to visit Louis again to purchase another vehicle.

Appalling attitude to Customer Service and Satisfaction.
Bought an 18 month old ix1 from this dealer and have to commend the sales process and why this was my 3rd car purchased from them.
However the problem started at handover when they neglected to tell me my car would need a £300+ service in 6 months and 2 weeks. In fact I only found out about this when I spotted the entry on the cars iDrive.
Somewhat annoyed at this failure to disclose such an expenditure to me, I spoke to the salesman, who referred my to the customer service manager.
I asked why they hadn't done the service, to be informed that they 'drew the line at 6 months' and wouldn't do the service.
I asked about a contribution for goodwill and was point blank turned down with the ultimatum of take it or leave it - i.e. return the car.
So I called their bluff and handed the car back to them.
It ended up costing them over £900 due to interest they had to re-pay BMW finance and the lower sales price they could charge on the returned car.
Given that the service was just over £300 and they effectively only had to contribute towards that, the fact that they would rather lose at least 3x that amount, rather than keep a repeat customer happy, is indicative of their attitude to post sales customer service.
Personally, I have never dealt with such an abrupt and uncaring customer service manager as the one employed by Sandal at Wakefield. I wish I could post the email thread on here to show just how little empathy she has and how it seemed she is following a script with zero concern for actual customer service.
Looking through the other reviews on here paints a telling picture...
Sales = Good
Customer Service (when something goes wrong) = Appalling.
I always rate a company by how they handle issues as problems always happen, and have to say that Sandal are on of the worst I've dealt with. There is effectively zero recourse and the customer service manager will not be looking to maintain customer relations when they would rather lose more money and 'win' against a customer complaint rather than look to an amicable solution.

The shoe might not fit but the Sandal does...
I'm really surprised to see a lot of negative reviews on here, that's not my experience at all....
I've dealt with several dealerships in recent weeks whilst looking for my latest used approved so I feel confident that, for once, I've got some idea what I'm talking about.
Two others are bigger, national BMW dealerships and frankly, were arrogant and dismissive - they didn't have what I wanted and clearly didn't care; a third smaller dealership tried hard to find the right vehicle in stock in any of their branches - as they had nothing available for the time being they suggested I contact Sandal BMW. They said Sandal in either Wakefield or Huddersfield are small enough to still care about doing things the way they should be done - putting the customer's needs first.
How right they were.
I called one day, spoke to a very friendly receptionist who listened to what I wanted before putting me through to Jack Oakley. He listened too. No fuss, no pressure to pay more than I wanted for something that wasn't what I wanted, just an easy 'I'll check, I think I've got what you want and I'll call you back in 10 minutes. Jack did. Fast forward 2 weeks (it was ready sooner but they kept it until I was available) and I've just collected exactly what I wanted. Great condition, great specification, exactly as described, at a fair price.
From start to finish, Jack made sure that everything was right for me. The dealership was very busy, always a good sign, but the ethos of putting the customer at the heart of the business was evident throughout and, Sandal clearly take as much pride in treating the customer well as they do in the quality of the cars they sell.
It says a lot that since my original enquiry most of my contact from Jack has been to arrange a test drive, then a collection time that suited me best, to confirm that I'm happy with it now I've had it a couple of of days and to offer advice/help should I need it going forward. It's been aimed at making sure that I'm happy.
I am.
The car seems great. The service was even better. Jack, along with everyone else who helped me, clearly believe in just doing things right. Sandal are justifiably proud of both what they sell and of how they sell it.
They could certainly show a few bigger franchises how it should be done!

Great Customer Service
Purchased a used BMW through Sandal Wakefield. Could not fault the customer service from the first phone call conversation, through to collecting the car. Ikhlas was very professional and very nice to deal with. Charlotte was also very nice and very good at her job. Would definitely buy from them again.
