Awful company - affordability complaint put in. Requested a DSAR and received it with other customers information included. Terrible, terrible!

If you want to apply and you don't have a mobile with photo facility, driving licence, current passport, or firearms certificate! don't bother applying being British with a birth certificate doesn't count!

Cancelled loan and going to Morses.

Absolute shambles. I put in a affordability complaint. They’ve taken 8 weeks to now respond asking for more time! It’s a joke. I will be escalating to FOS

Had 2 loans paid both off with no late or missed payments Over 2 years. Applied again and was declined. The only difference is im now on more money ? Makes no sense at all with no explanation either. But glad now anyway as they take far to much interest! They state that they use there own scoring system. Thats a total lie!

Really awful seriously I took a loan out last year and it got paid back last year, they kept on sending me letters saying it hasn’t been paid back when it had and that they couldn’t find any proof when I had proof, every time I phone them up and spoke to a different person each time all I got from them was we will get it sorted out but they still haven’t and after when I phoned them up the letters would stop for about 2-5 months then wham I would get another one and yesterday they sent me a letter from their debt collecting company demanding me to pay £1516.80 when I’ve paid off the £800 loan last year, don’t use this loan company it’s an absolute joke they are quick to give you the loan but slow to accept the repayment because they want more money out of you than what the loan was in the first place. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

I was a customer with Satsuma (Provident) last year.

I submitted a complaint to their customer services team 8 weeks ago. Apart from an initial acknowledgement email, it’s been radio silence from them. Today I finally get an email asking for a further two weeks to investigate my complaint (although they can’t guarantee that it will be resolved in this time). 10 weeks to respond to a customer complaint is appalling and I will now be escalating to the Financial Ombudsman service.

Don’t use this company!

I wish I had read these reviews first. Applied and was supposedly accepted then told I would receive an email telling me which documents I would need to send, this email never arrived. Emailed to say that I have received no email and that email was ignored. Unbelievably the automatic confirmation email I got back said that if I didn't hear from them after 48 hours to phone them. Even if I did eventually receive the email, what would be the point of submitting documents now? If they cant even send the initial email or respond to a basic enquiry, how long would it take them to look at a document assuming that ever actually happened. Total waste of my time, please dont waste your time.

the problem i get is when you finish your loan off and try for another you cant get one they need to look at this again a loyal customer like my self wich has never missed a payment and trying for another loan with them they should let you know 24hrs after you pay you`re loan off that you can appl for another but they dont

Avoid getting a loan with this company as they do not care about their customers

Shocking complaints team ( never reply to emails - I have just emailed them for the third time today so I hopefully I get a response)

Denied irresponsible lending even though I had multiple loans at the time. I tried working with them to see if I could pay what I had borrowed like they have offered to customers in hardship before but no response to that. I have an arrangement to pay with them and when speaking to their team they said it would show ‘arrange to pay’ on my credit file but no they are marking them as LATE PAYMENTS

If I do not get a response I am going to call the financial ombudsman and report this awful awful company.

I've never had no issue with this company customer service has always been great. I've paid of loans on time (did have a little issue with bank but so did everyone) early repayment never a issue.
To those that moan they lend lend lend if your not in a financial position at the start dont take a loan and also dont complain about apr as you know how much your paying before you take out the loan.
The reason for knocking 1 star is that for weeks and weeks I was eligible for a loan then went to apply and it said I wasnt bit confusing

Bad experiance with Satsuma. Still ongoing issue. Companies caused my credit to plumit to bad. When in the beginning i had great credit. Beginning of march Satsuma had put £3000 into my bank. I had never heard of Satsuma before. Turns out i'd be scammed by a fraudster. Somehow got my details and they applied for these loans. The fraudster managed to take some of the loans. I contacted Satsuma and asked how was this possible because surely they needed to do a credit check. Notified my bank who put my bank account on hold. I couldnt use my bank card for over a week, had to enter a bank everytime i needed to obtain cash. They refused to take the remaining money out my account, up until i threatened them with legal action. The remaining money was removed. 2 1/2 months later Satsuma Fraud team still not contacted me, even thought ive sent them crime referance details and all the documentation they asked for. They keep sending me letters saying i owe the money and accounts in arrears. Yet the loans were'nt even mine. Im in the middle of discussing with FOS. Compensation is a must, Satsuma have messed up my Credit scoring. Cant even apply for any short term loan or anything.

I have just contacted Satsuma to repay my loan early, prior to my first payment on what was originally going to be a 10 month loan. They charge you interest on the period you have held the loan (fair enough) but then charge you for a further 29 days interest even though you are paying there and then. Absolutely shocking practice as they are charging for a extra months service you don’t have, need, want or require! If you look on their home page it states that other loan companies charge unnecessary fees when closing a loan early but they do not. Don’t use this company as there are many other loan providers out there that provide a far superior service with less fees including - Piggyback, Myjar, Sunny, Unclebuck, Mrlender and lending stream to name just a few. ABSOLUTELY SHAMBOLIC BUSINESS PRACTICE and confident they will be the next Wonga! I suggest to get your claims in quick.

Awful company. No compassion. Charge 28 days additional interest even if you’re a few hours over the 14 day cooling off period. They use sending letters to your house as a threat when you withdraw from the loan (funny how they don’t do this when you take the loan out).

I have taken two loans out with this company both were paid on time and never missed a payment. I get emails all the time saying apply again. I didn’t need to so just ignored it. Circumstances changed and I needed the extra cash fast so I tried to apply but couldn’t. They refused me again yet send these emails saying apply and in eligible. Awful company treating people who have never defaulted a payment that way.

If i take a loan out on sunday will i recieve it the same day?

Do not uphold complaint outcomes - Still reporting wrong on my credit file even tho complaint upheld. Avoid at all costs

Scum of the earth was borrrowing £1000 wanted to pay back early cost £440 to borrow for a week advise lend it off a bank or friend

Never bother with reviews but have to come on for this one. During a recent bereavement which has thrown my finances upside down with other immediate costs, Satsuma have shown overwhelming support and understanding and are happy to freeze all repayments and collection activity until I am up and running. Really thoughtful and sympathetic emails from their staff too. Can't thank them enough.

ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS. I had used this "shower" for a few loans and paid them ALL off EARLY. Upon completion of my last agreement I was staggered to see a CRA showing an outstanding balance. Staffeta or this cowboy outfit offered lots of comical reasons but admitted I owed NOTHIN. Upon seeking answers I have been totally ignored & now find that my login page shows me ineligible. Not one single person is prepared to investigate this issue and the agents claim there are no problems at their end....so what now?. In short these are amateurs who are simply clueless or useless OR BOTH!!! AVOID...AVOID...AVOID....AR*EHOLES.

They charge you 28 days in advance interest if you want to repay early. Other lending websites don't. I would never recommend this to anyone.
