I moved out and said I owe $1200 in damages (ain't no way)
Apartment complex manager said I need to get the list of claims rhino is using but without the ability to contact them. It's impossible and I probably will be sent to collections. Never using them again and I hope they get investigated by the government.

Rhino for the W
I had a GREAT experience with Rhino, they were very straightforward, and they helped me get into my dream apartment with no problems.

Cancellation and re-subscription were quick and easy. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a customer service number to call.
I’ve had a good experience with rhino…
I’ve had a good experience with rhino so far. It was a very seamless process and my complex instantly moved forward with my leasing application. I was very hesitant to use rhino especially given all of the negative reviews I’ve read but I have no complaints. It may be dependent on the area and state you live in and the specific property. And yes, although it is less than ideal to have to use rhino since you can only receive a portion of your deposit back, it helped me move into my current complex when I needed it and was quick and straightforward while doing so.
Poor communication
Can’t contact them by phone. It dud make accessing an apt easier with limited income but the process waa not friendly. And expensive. They need better customer communication abs they don’t respond to emails.
I will never work with Rhino again
I will never work with Rhino again.
Rhino sounds good at first, when you do not have a security deposit but want to move in quickly. DO NOT USE RHINO. The customer service does not exist.
I tried using their Contact Us page, and it made me log in just to tell me I do not have access to the page. How does a customer not have a way to get in contact when they need help or information? After doing some research, I found out that they removed their customer service line from their website because of all the complaints they were getting from customers.
Also, I had a claim from my previous apartment complex, in which I used Rhino's renters insurance. The complex contacted them for payment for coverages like wear and tear and cleaning fees I owed at the end of my lease, which Rhino stated it covers up to a certain amount. I was nowhere near the maximum, and it took almost 2 weeks for the property manager to get in contact with them for the claim. I had to reach out directly to find out what the problem was and relay the message to the property manager. I reached out another time for more information because the property manager was still contacting me about a nonpayment and they took a MONTH to respond via email. I wanted to be done with them right then and there, but I still had to pay them back.
I was on a monthly repayment schedule, and I couldn't access the amount I had left to pay or see the payments I had already made. The company feels so shady and unprofessional. I had to find a place to leave a review, just hoping others will see this and avoid Rhino at all costs!
Horrible company to do business with
My mom and I used Rhino/Jetty as a Security deposit option and was informed y rental agent that we prior to needed to sign in person. However, prior to signing in person we put down a whopping $785.00 deposit. We got a call from our brand new low income housing representative that our names had reached the top of the housing waiting list. Rhino/Jetty has refused to refund our deposit because the landlord would not sign off on releasing us from the apartment. We never signed Rhino/Jetty in person. Never got keys. Never moved anything into the apartment. Never did a walk through inspection. Never took possession of the unit at all. Furthermore, we placed our money with Rhino/Jetty, not with the landlord. In the State of Maryland the Real Property Laws clearly state that if NO POSSESSION has been had, we are not tenants and entitled to a full refund. Yet, Rhino/Jetty refuses to follow the dictates of the law. I have written to the BBB but it went nowhere. Therefore, I have filed a Complaint with The State of Maryland’s Attorney General's office. I will sue them in court and recover interest, Attorney fees, and i will personally see that they are not allowed to practice in this state. In short: It is far better to save for your security deposit than to use Rhino/Jetty. They are a nightmare to do business with. NO HUMAN BEING TO SPEAK TO. NO PHONE NUMBER TO CALL. JUST HORRIBLE ALL T H E WAY AROUND THE ROAD.
It's not worth it
I’ve been extremely disappointed with my experience with Rhino, especially when it comes to customer service. The biggest issue is that there’s no reliable way to speak to an actual person. You can’t simply call and resolve an issue, which makes dealing with anything urgent incredibly frustrating.
What made things worse was a situation involving my friend. She received a call from someone claiming to be from Rhino, and the interaction was completely unprofessional. The caller used profanity and even called her a “broke motherf*****” as well as other things. On top of that, they started sharing a Social Security number over the phone without even confirming who they were speaking to first. That is a serious privacy and security concern.
Email support is also very inconsistent. Sometimes they respond quickly, but other times it can take a week or more to hear back, which isn’t acceptable when you’re dealing with financial or insurance-related issues.
It’s also hard to take the reviews on their website seriously when the actual customer experience is this poor. Based on my experience, Rhino really needs to improve their customer support, professionalism, and communication. Right now, it feels unreliable and frustrating to deal with.

I got the Layoff insurance which is a scam. There is no one to call to discuss your claim. No portal or claim documents. You wait almost a week for a response from customer service. Despite having all the requested documents and meeting criteria, they would not process my claim.
I had a very poor experience with Rhino…
I had a very poor experience with Rhino and would not recommend them.
I was offered Rhino as a guarantor option. When I clicked the link provided, I was taken through a series of what I thought were odd questions (level of education, etc.) and then shown a “quote.” There was no cost breakdown, no transparency, and no explanation of how the amount was calculated.
I reached out to Rhino for clarification and received a response that simply repeated the same vague language shown on the website. When I followed up again asking for more detailed information, the representative (Katie) explained what a “premium” and “reserve” are in general terms but still did not provide an actual breakdown or explain how my specific quote was determined.
When I asked if I could speak to someone by phone, I was told they do not offer callbacks.
Overall, the lack of transparency, minimal customer support, and unwillingness to clearly explain pricing felt extremely disappointing. The experience came across as misleading — positioning themselves as a helpful solution while offering very little clarity about what you’re actually paying for or why. It honestly felt a bit like snake oil salesmanship.
Thankfully, my leasing agent stepped in, went above and beyond, and helped me resolve the situation without Rhino — so everything ultimately worked out. But based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.
Rhino Customer Service Lacks the Services
Recently I had to move from one location to another from within UDR rental agency which required me to have enrolled into another Rhino policy.
I had a question and i also needed support in making correction to my policy. This service lack the customer service and satisfaction of knowing that agents are not available. The fact that there is no one available to speak to only via email link that you need to even sign up for is pathetic. I needed to speak to someone at Rhino and instead got an email process to follow from within Rhino website and only to find out from an email by an Rhino agent instructing me to contact my rental agency for all I know it was an AI agent. Not happy at all with the process and lack of customer service Rhino provides. I took me days and back and forth with my UDR agents to find and correct an issue where it could have been simplified instantly by Rhino.
Negative experience. Not helpful. Bad sales.
Negative experience.
I spoke to a sales rep and ordered two missing end bar caps for the Khamm bar. The pictures on their website showed the correct caps. They sent the wrong caps and made me pay for £14 shipping to receive and no replacement just an apology and a refund of the product for the screw up.
Poor service.

Loss of employment insurance review
Loss of employment insurance review. It’s a hassle just to get approved and when you do you’ll probably already be evicted and they take forever to process your claim. So on top of being evicted due to their outrageous processing time frame you’ll have an outrageous late charge amount.
Wish I could rate this no stars
Wish I could rate this no stars. This is an absolute scam of a company. I had Rhino security deposit insurance on top of my already paid security deposit, which I am assuming because I had no rental history.
I had made every single of my rent payments on time, paying an additional $250ish annually for security deposit insurance.
The year I planned to move out, having only 5 months living there of that year.. Rhino increased my annual charge to double what I was paying prior years. When I tried to dispute this charge, it was declined.
I do have some wear and tear to the unit that I owned up to, due to having pets. I filed a claim with Rhino thinking as I paid so much into this, that they would cover some of this cost, as even my apartment complex had ALSO believed that Rhino will cover the cost. Little did they know.. This is not the truth.
Lone and behold, I had to do my own research, after receiving a bill in full with the amount that they “covered” with my apartment complex.
The idea of security deposit insurance is a complete scam that you continue to pay into for nothing. My rent statements will more than prove that I paid my rent and on time. But now I owe to a company that I continued to pay annually for, to protect the apartment complex, and not myself.
If I could give negative stars I…
If I could give negative stars I would!! Property managers and owners do not use this company as your security deposit alternative. They do everything they possibly can to try to not pay your legitimate claims! They cancel policies without your permission and do not notify you so that you cannot file a claim against your tenant! There have been multiple bad experiences over the years with this company. We have very few policies left with them and CAN NOT WAIT to get completely away from them! Run run as fast as you can!!
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We LOST several potential tenants because I could not get an answer on questions. Wouldn't, couldn't tell us why they turned someone down, it was just we turned them down. I absolutely got frustrated with waiting days to maybe get an answer and by that time my emails was for sure showing a lot of frustration. This went on for MONTHS. They finally sent an email saying our relationship was "untenable" and they were ending our relationship. We now just do straight security deposits with our tenants and its easy and we don't have to jump through hoops to get the money owed to us as we have the money in our escrow account. STAY AWAY!!
