Very Fruitful Experience
Before joining, I had too many interests pulling in different directions — engineering, AI, trading, DJing — and no real system to turn any of it into a channel, so I stayed stuck on niche and wasn't posting. Working with Jimmy Marshall gave me actual frameworks instead of guesswork, and what stood out most was how direct he was — pushing me to just record and post instead of overthinking it, which is what actually got me moving.

Coach Tina Appreciation
I want to give special recognition to my personal coach, Tina, for her incredible support and encouragement throughout my YT journey. From the beginning, she helped me get everything set up for success, provided clear and practical guidance to keep me focused, and shared valuable tips and shortcuts that helped me make progress more efficiently. I truly appreciate her dedication, encouragement, and guidance every step of the way. Thank you, Coach Tina!

Self-paced access was helpful, but the coaching and communication fell short for me
I joined Content Growth Engine on August 27, 2025, as a working carpenter trying to grow my hands-on YouTube channel, HouseMasters Carpentry. My channel is built around real carpentry, repairs, home-improvement work, and project videos—not primarily talking-head content.
One thing I did value was the possibility of working at my own pace. I work full-time, and producing a weekly video also means spending considerable time filming and editing. Flexibility was important to me, and I did not expect anyone else to do the work for me.
The money-back guarantee was also a major reason I decided to enroll. I remember seeing and hearing Shane discuss a guarantee in a video and understanding that there was a refund option if the program was not a good fit. I do not remember the exact terms or fine print, but that assurance was important in my decision to join.
My main disappointment was the lack of proactive, individualized coaching and follow-up. I expected periodic contact, encouragement, and practical guidance based on my channel, schedule, and niche. In my experience, I generally had to initiate communication. I explained that I work many hours and spend substantial time editing videos, but I did not feel there was consistent follow-up or a clear, workable plan tailored to my situation.
I later learned that CGE considers my enrollment to have been a six-month 1:1 coaching program. However, I did not understand at the time of enrollment that my access would end after six months. My understanding from the onboarding and enrollment process was that I would have the flexibility and time needed to work through the program at my own pace. Currently, my profile on the Skool platform shows "Free Membership," and I have not been given a clear written explanation of what coaching access remains or exactly when my access to the training material will end.
The format was also difficult for me as a learner. Much of the material felt like watching training videos rather than receiving the interactive coaching experience I expected. I already understood some of the beginning material, such as identifying my niche, but my understanding was that I needed to complete modules before moving ahead. If I misunderstood how the modules were structured, clearer guidance would have helped.
The member communication platforms were another challenge. I had never used Discord before joining, and it took time for me to learn. Once I became more comfortable with it, communication shifted to Skool, which was also unfamiliar and difficult for me to navigate. That transition made me less inclined to participate in group discussions. I also no longer have access to my previous Discord conversations, so I cannot review the earlier guidance or communications there.
When my access period was nearing an end, I was told by phone that I would receive an additional month if I posted a Trustpilot review. I later sent an email explaining my concerns and asking for clarification about the access period, a longer no-cost extension, and how the money-back guarantee applied. I did not receive a response to that email.
As of 2 weeks ago, my channel has grown substantially after I made changes with the help of the AI subscription I have. After changing my YouTube banner, I went from roughly 400 subscribers to more than 2,000 in under two weeks and became monetized. I am grateful for that progress, but I do not attribute it to guidance I received through CGE.
CGE may work better for people who are comfortable learning mainly through self-paced video material and seeking help only when they are able to initiate it themselves. For me, I paid for a coaching program with a money-back guarantee—not only a library of training material—and I do not feel I received the proactive support, clear communication, or value I reasonably expected.

CGE is a game changer!
Before I started this program I knew nothing about how to structure a YouTube video properly or even how to create an effective thumbnail. The knowledge base in the CGE courses is amazing and my coach Jimmy has helped me level up my game immensely and I feel like I’m on my way to a highly profitable channel!

Personalized Plan
Joined CGE to finally get started with YouTube. I already have a bit of following on Facebook, so I figured I'd try my hand in long-form and monetization because I haven't been able to monetize so far. I mainly joined for the 1-on-1 coaching rather than the content itself and I'm happy with this so far. My mind runs a million miles and Coach Tina has been able to focus my efforts on some tangible next steps that is personalized to me which is exactly why I joined. Looking forward to growing!!

Excellent Course & Exceptional Support from Daniel!
I’ve had an excellent experience with the Content Growth Engine course. The program is well organized, practical, and provides clear, actionable strategies for building and growing your content and online presence. I especially appreciate that the material focuses on strategies you can actually implement rather than just theory.
Daniel has been exceptional throughout the entire process. He is incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed. Whenever I’ve had a question or needed guidance, he has been extremely quick to respond and has consistently gone above and beyond to help.
I would highly recommend CGE to anyone serious about growing their content and building a stronger online presence. The combination of a solid program and outstanding support from Daniel has made this a great experience.

CGE is a company with a heart. They were completely understanding about my health issues and were nice enough to comply with my request for the cancellation of my account with no further charges even though I had agreed to join the program. Very refreshing in these times.
My family and I appreciate them very much. Robert Marceau

After years and countless hours trying on my own...
After years and countless hours trying to figure out and maximize YouTube for my business and marketing goals, I found CGE. I had been able to figure out how to make good videos on my own, and even grow an audience, but I had no idea whether my videos actually had an audience, or how to monetize my content. CGE helped me really assess and focus on these components: finding quality topics, and approaching it as a business. The resources and regular calls were invaluable.

Growing Fast
Initially, it took some time to get me set up, but now that I have a 1-1 coach, I am moving right along. I meet with Pat once every two weeks. We talk about video structure, thumbnails, descriptions, and Muse videos. He provided my first 30 Muse video ideas, and this was the biggest relief because searching for Muse videos is very difficult, even after the video training. I had some experience before, but only like 12 subscribers. My average video got maybe 10-20 views. My first Muse video working with Pat is up to 800 views after 5 days, and now I have 87 subscribers. I make shorts out of the long forms and put them on social media. They go viral on Facebook. Up to 151K on one video. It's amazing. I'm very excited to continue this program. It's 1-1, like they say. Other programs I've joined are not. Pat is great.

Valuable Program
Honestly, before this program I had no idea what I was doing. I knew I wanted to create a channel for my business but I was all over the place with it. This program helped me to gain clarity and create a more cohesive message. I now understand how to create eye catching thumbnails, clickable titles and engaging hooks. One of my videos has reached 6000 views and still climbing! My subscriber count is going up and I am grateful for the guidance I continue to receive.

Working one on one with Jimmy Marshall…
Working one on one with Jimmy Marshall has been fantastic. It is just what I needed. It has made discussions, planning, analytics, and questions that much easier to get to the bottom of. His advice is great but more importantly he is a great listener. When I ask something he is listening to understand instead of listening to respond.

Be Prepared to Fight for the Moneyback Guarantee
If the program still comes with a money back guarantee, be prepared to fight hard for it.
Shane advertised this as a 'Double Moneyback Guarantee' at the free live training I attended. I enrolled in the $6,000 group program and attempted a faceless channel — they confirmed the guarantee still applied to faceless channels, and that it would just take more work.
I followed instructions consistently — completed all initial assignments, posted twice a week, used the ICAHN method and Holy Trifecta, implemented coach feedback throughout. After six months I had four subscribers and twelve watch hours. When I raised the money back guarantee, a new coach said I'd received bad advice and offered a three month extension with biweekly coaching calls, which I accepted. I implemented all his feedback throughout. At the end of that extension I had 39 subscribers — nowhere near meaningful monetization, even if not relying on AdSense.
Worth noting: if I understood correctly, the coach told me I was the one faceless channel in the program actually posting. The others weren't posting or getting results. There are faceless channels outside the program have succeeded, but apparently not in CGE (at least not yet)— information that would have been relevant before I enrolled.
They offered me an extension in exchange for a Trustpilot review, and gave me a few days to think about it. I ultimately declined. I later found out this practice violates Trustpilot's ToS.
When I requested my refund, the process took almost a month with no clear timeline given at any point. I was repeatedly told they were 'carefully reviewing my participation against the Results Guarantee'. I eventually informed them that I believed there was an attempt to avoid honoring the guarantee. I gave them a deadline to refund me or I would write a review that includes the non-refund and file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General.
They responded quickly with an offer of a $4,000 “goodwill refund,” acknowledging I had “taken the coaching seriously, consistently implemented feedback, and remained engaged.” They said I didn't fully meet the criteria, but didn’t explain which criteria I failed to meet. I asked which criteria weren't met.
After around 44 hours of them not responding to that question, I then told them they could either send the 4K and I'd file an AG complaint regarding the remaining 2K, or send the full 6K and I wouldn't file. They refunded the full 6K, and still said I didn’t fully meet the criteria, but still didn’t explain that conclusion. I did not submit a complaint.
The coaches genuinely tried to help me during the program and were respectful through it. Had the decision-makers handled the refund process professionally — giving a clear timeline and processing it straightforwardly — I could see this being a four star review. The two star rating reflects the month of delays, the partial offer without justification, and the failure to ever explain which criteria I allegedly didn't meet — not the refund outcome itself. They ultimately did the right thing, but only after significant persistence on my part.
It looks like they updated the Results Guarantee to have more specific criteria. Be sure to follow these criteria closely. Hopefully this means that in future cases, they will more objectively assess against the criteria in a reasonable amount of time. Also, hopefully they are no longer advertising “double” moneyback guarantee, which is inconsistent with both the contract and the experience of getting a refund.
UPDATE - AUGUST 20, 2026 (RATING DECREASED FROM 2 TO 1 STAR DUE TO THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE): The company's claim below that their coaches told me a faceless channel disqualified me is factually contradicted by our written record. When they initially offered me a partial "goodwill refund," I explicitly asked them to state which criteria for the full refund I failed to meet, which they did not do.
They only issued the 100% refund after I stated I would file a complaint with the Attorney General. Furthermore, the version of the Results Guarantee they claim applied in my case did not state any such restriction. Their admission that they have since changed their terms to be more specific proves their original criteria were more vague than what they wanted to enforce.
Also, if they had told me that the guarantee doesn't apply to faceless channels because they are more difficult to monetize, I would not have spent 6k on the program to do one.
Also, another review posted in Jul/Aug 2026 mentions a non-answer in response to the moneyback guarantee.
As mentioned by both sides, I have my money back. I no longer have skin in the game, and I decline their offer for free access. I am stating these facts purely to inform potential future buyers.

Great program
I truly love this program. The structure is excellent - with very detailed self-paced learning program that is well organized and easy to follow, to ongoing support with multiple masterclasses every week and a like-minded community where you can ask whatever questions you have. But the best part of the program is the coaching and that's the main reason I joined. Coach Tina is absolutely amazing and very helpful. She gives me honest feedback and has tons of practical and doable ideas on how to improve my channel. She is clearly invested in the success of her clients and genuinely wants them to do well.

Good Coach
I've learned a lot about growing my YouTube channel since joining CGE last year October. I particularly liked the community. Everyone is so willing to help/share. And ever since I had Daniel as a coach, things have been getting much better in terms of implementing all the strategies taught. Initially, things were a bit rocky with some of the coaches I had. After I expressed my frustrations/concerns, I was given a new coach and Daniel has been very very helpful and I'm beginning to see the results in my posts on my brand new YouTube channel! This is giving me a ray of hope I really appreciate that!

Why I Actually Look Forward to Coaching Calls with Jimmy
Working with Jimmy has been such a game-changer for me.
What stands out the most is how deeply in tune he is with his clients. He genuinely listens, understands where you’re at, and shows a level of empathy that’s rare to find. You never feel like you’re just following a generic strategy — everything feels personalised and aligned.
He has this incredible ability to break down complex YouTube strategy into something simple yet powerful. Almost every session brings a “light bulb” moment where things just click, and I walk away with clarity and direction.
I genuinely look forward to every coaching session because I know I’ll get immense value from it. Beyond strategy, Jimmy is also an amazing cheerleader — especially on the tough days when motivation dips. He knows exactly how to lift you while still keeping you focused.
What I appreciate most is how he helps prioritise actions in a way that feels achievable. Instead of overwhelm, you leave with a clear, realistic plan that you actually want to execute.
A huge shout-out to Jimmy and the CGE team for creating this amazing program and support system.

I can't say enough about my experience with Jimmy. He's not only kind, but truly cares. He's a wealth of knowledge which goes a long way when you're starting out. If you're looking to start a Youtube channel, CGE is a great place to begin. Dedication is key. I'm only 4 months in, but I've learned a lot and hope to expand my channel in ways that surprise even myself!

Fantastic experience so far
Fantastic experience so far. The Shane Hummus team knows their stuff and they want you to succeed, and push for you to do so, which is what a coach is paid for. Tina Leder is my assigned coach and she is fantastic. She keeps me focused on what's important since I tend to be a little ADHD, she answers my questions and she has helped me pivot topics and spent lots of time giving helpful suggestions. The program is not cheap, but if you are serious about succeeding, this is the one I'd start with.

Tina was awesome
Tina was awesome! She gave me great ideas on where to go next. She gave me feedback on my thumbnails and titles. I just got back from vacation and found I had two videos that went viral and got me into the Youtube Partnership Program. I was unsure of what to do next and Tina provided me a great roadmap on how to proceed.

Please don't do this
I was sold this program being promised that "85%" of members of CGE make 2-5k within the first 6 months. Then one of the very first onboarding meetings one of the coaches tells me that members make 2-5k after their first 6 months. Immediately I thought this was a scam. And I got scared and nervous, but I continued anyways. One of the first assignments is to find out what your channel is going to be about and discuss with one of the coaches. In all caps it says "YOU CANT MOVE ON FROM THIS MODULE UNTIL YOU KNOW EXACTLY ABOUT YOUR CHANNEL." I thought I found my niche and discussed it with their "client success manager." He said it was a good niche and we could go from there. Fast forward to me having all my assignments done, I have less than 100 subs and I'm being told they will extend the program for me and I can have a meeting with Shane. I meet with Shane and we discuss my channel, turns out, over 40 videos later, I AM NOT NICHED DOWN ENOUGH. Which was one of the FIRST assignments I had to do and COULD NOT MOVE ON until my coach and I figured out a niche. Okay so now with the extension I can figure it out? I keep posting videos consistently but the consistency dies because I don't know what I need to be doing. I have another meeting "oh its cause you're not posting consistently." But I'm running out of ideas and have no idea what videos I need to do because even after my meeting with Shane we never locked down a niche for me. They extend my program again, but not before trying to upsell me double the money when I told them I couldn't even afford this program to pay it in full. after a little less than a year I reached 100 subs. Then I start joining the group meetings, they audit my channel, and he says, "stop posting consistently cause you have that down, now you need to focus on making really good videos that's how you'll grow." Oh okay, I was told a few months back I need to post consistently and that's why I'm not growing. Then I have more meetings with more coaches, and a lot of them are starting to contradict each other about videos and thumbnails. I then have another upsell meeting, which, I felt like they forgot I was making payments that I couldn't even afford to pay for this program, and they end up extending the program again and are bringing on a brand new coach that maybe can give me some direction. I have a meeting with this new coach, and after a year and a half of being in this program I felt like I had the most productive meeting about what my niche should be. Then I had one more upsell meeting where I am also being told that this program is about how to do YouTube and not necessarily all about the business side. they told me they would give me until the end of the month to be in the program but by that time, every message I sent on the discord channel would get one response by one coach at 3am.
I wanted to like this program, and I wanted to be successful, the tips that the coaches give about technical things like how to do the thumbnail, how to edit were really good, but I wouldn't have taken out a loan of 5,000 just to learn editing.
I'm just really disappointed that I spent so much time and effort to leave this program feeling like nobody could really help me, they just wanted my money, money that I do not have. Because there were extensions, but the advice that was given everything was so contradictory.
Update and response: I emailed out to them like they suggested, and they told me they would forward it to Murray, the customer success manager. That was going on 4 weeks ago. They got their money and weren't interested on solving anything other than trying to get me to pay them more money. Of course the exact wording wasn't in my discord chat, it was in the given assignments which I looked back on were updated this year. That's interesting, I wonder what could have been edited out. And after a year and a half of extensions by the time I was done with the program I had 450 subs and no clients. I also find it interesting that I talked with Murray in the future? September 9th 2026 isn't here yet, so not sure what that's about. I left the program at the end of May, actually before because again, I would get one coach to respond to me at 3am. There was also no denying that the information I was given was contradictory, so imagine dropping 5k and all the coaches tell you to do something different.
