I signed up with short story and at first I loved it! I don’t know if they changed the stylists or what but the last box was terrible, nothing worked, nothing fit right. All was returned via USPS, unfortunately they still charged me $489. They never scanned my return in properly! That was June 12. It is now July 14, they have my money and my return! They still have not processed my return after a month! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!! Deeply disappointed!!

For The Record, I received an extension to return the items late due to my father passing away. My credit card company has told me that it is Short Story who is holding up my refund.

I've only used this company twice, but much like other styling companies I've used, stitch fix, daily look, and there were a couple of others, they do not pay attention to what my style is and what I like and do not like. I've given them links to styles I like on Pinterest, I've sent them screenshots of outfits, and I feel as though they are not paying attention. The first box I received had a couple of pants that I kept, but I explained that I did not like pants, or bottoms with fake pockets. Got some bottoms with fake pockets is my second box. They also sent me some tops with puffy sleeves. I advised I did not like puffy sleeves, guess what I got in my second box, you got it puffy sleeves. I also had a store credit for a pair of the original pants I kept because the zipper broke the first and only time I wore them. For whatever reason my store credit was not being applied to the things I was keeping from this second box.

Edit: They have used my store credit on my latest purchases.

Great quality clothing. This is great for short people like me. I'm 5'2" and it's hard finding clothes in stores. I love getting my boxes.

This is such a fun and convenient way to add to your wardrobe! It is so difficult for me to find clothes that fit my 5'1 frame, but all of the clothes were the perfect length. Customer service is incredible. They were very generous and understanding when my own mistake caused a return to be lost in delivery. Highly recommend!

This is a fun and easy way to try on different petite style clothes. My stylist did a great job in choosing items I had mentioned I liked. I ended up keeping a good amount of the items that were sent. The return process was incredibly easy. Quick and fast communication from the company as well. Definitely will continue using them!

I'm 4"11 and this is the only place I get pants and dresses from now on! They fit perfect EVERY TIME and actually look like they fit me! I've been a short story customer for about 2 years and tell all my short girlies about it.

I have tried other styling box subscriptions before, but Short Story is the best! Great customer service if you have any questions they get back to you in a timely manner. They also axtually listen to what items you'd like in your order. The clothes are AMAZING quality and I have a hard time choosing what items to keep because they are all great.

I was really impressed with my first box - it was the first time I received one of these types of boxes where everything fit! But my experiences have been mixed ever since. I often feel like my requests or style preferences are ignored and about half or more of each box is something I’d never ever wear.

Recently they told me they were shipping a box but the tracking showed it never got to the carrier. I was able to see what was in it and it was nothing that I would ever wear so after a couple weeks I asked if they could cancel that one and send me something new. They did, and it was great, but then randomly a few MONTHS later when I’m out of town for the holidays I get an email saying my short story box arrived. I didn’t order a new box. I thought it was an error or something. Then I start getting emails about how I have to send stuff back and I contact them about it. At first it seemed fine, they confirmed it was the old box and told me to send it back. When I got home and confirmed that, they start trying to give me return by dates - this was their mess up!!! Now I’ve got added chores to do because of your mess up or you’re going to charge me money? Just zero empathy at a time when I had a ton on my plate.

I have liked many of the clothes this company has sent me, and I've found them responsive to my styling requests, for the most part. But most recently they claimed to have shipped a box (that was delayed by about a month, which they explained), and no box came. They are impossible to reach. The emails sent through their website get no response. At first they had a Chat option where you could communicate by typing in real time to someone (person or bot, I don't know) and get answers. The chat being told me my box would arrive in 48 hours, and if it didn't I should contact them. I got nothing. Now the chat option is gone from their website. There is no phone number on the website, and clearly their email function does not work. When I sent an email directly to their customer service email address (not through their website), I did get an automatic response that it was received. But I am still waiting for any reply to my specific situation. Their shipper apparently lost my package, and Short Story is doing nothing to straighten things out. However, they apparently still think I will pay for these nonexistent clothes. This company should not be trusted.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, OR SHOULD I SAY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. AFTER 6 WEEKS NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING. NO ONE TO CALL. I EMAILED MANY TIMES! Worst company ever. Going back to STITCH FIX! They are a solid company that actually has a phone number. Try them out!

I Have been a customer of this business since 2018 . I have stated repeatedly I like natural fibers . They repeatedly send polyester and acrylic . I know this and still enjoyed looking through the things they sent . I also told them repeatedly I have Fair caucasion skin and pastels dont look good . They repeatedly ignore color preferences . Send blush tones MORE frequently after I asked them not to. But this last time takes the cake , they sent a Flawed Pair of Democracy jeans that had a split seam sewn on the inward side . Also A sweater that literally ripped from arm pit to hem and refuse compensation and wont even acknowledge the repeated emails I have sent along with pictures . Best advice is Stay Away .

I have been pleased with Short Story. They have been easy to work with, including when I needed to lengthen my try-on time due to illness. The only reason I'm giving 4 and not a 5 is their limited plus size options. I'm shaped like a friendly basketball so more options for the rounder among us would be helpful.
