Pleased with the quality of the shed and the overall process. From the initial chat to understand our needs and options, through to the installation of the shed, I was happy and impressed with the high levels of customer service and overall quality. We had particular access constraints which were able to be accommodated in how our pent shed was constructed and installed. The installers were professional and quickly put up the shed to a high standard.

Delivered on time and erected as required by very pleasant representatives.

Very happy with my new shed. Went for a 7x8 apex. Went with the advised protek paint. Mike was exceptionally helpful and responsive going through the purchase process and even responding to a few followup emails. The gentleman that fitted the shed were polite and tidy. No question went unanswered and would definitely recommend Mike and Skinners shed. The price difference with mass market shed companies was relatively minimal and worth every penny. Protek paint looks absolutely fantastic on the shed afterwards.

I recently purchased a shed from the Wickford branch of Skinners Sheds. While I am ultimately very happy with the final product, the journey from the showroom to the garden was a bit of a mixed bag.

The Product: 5/5

The shed itself is excellent. It is sturdy, well-put-together, and exactly what I was looking for. A massive bonus is that it comes erected, which saves a lot of time and hassle. One of the main reasons I chose Skinners was the ability to actually see the quality in person before buying—something many online-only retailers lack. In terms of quality for the price, it represents very good value for money.

The Sales Process: 2/5

This is where the experience faltered. The sales process at the Wickford branch felt quite pushy; I was constantly being upsold items that I felt were unnecessary. However, the most frustrating part was the constant repetition regarding the base. I lost count of how many times the salesperson told me the base had to be "spirit level flat"—both in person and over the phone.

While I understand the importance of a level base, the delivery of this message felt condescending rather than helpful. Additionally, the team was quite difficult to deal with when I tried to schedule delivery around other ongoing work at my property.

Delivery and Aftercare: 2/5

The post-sale experience mirrored the sales phase. The courtesy call again focused heavily on the "spirit level flat" requirement, and I was sent a disclaimer waiver listing an exhaustive number of things they won't do. It felt more like they were looking for excuses to walk away from the job rather than trying to be helpful.

On the day of installation, the crew did a nice job putting the structure together, but their manner was quite short and bordering on rude. I also discovered after they left that they hadn't nailed down the felt on the roof, so I’ve had to go out and finish that job myself to ensure it’s weather-proof.

Final Verdict

If you are looking for a high-quality, well-built shed and don't mind a bit of DIY finishing, Skinners is a solid choice. It’s just a shame that when you are spending a significant amount of money, the customer service and communication don't match the quality of the timber.

Having refused to build the shed (supposedly included in the purchase price but obviously factored into the price, like delivery) the delivery guys left an offcut roll of felt too short to cover the roof. Had to buy a new roll for £50. Should have been simple to refund this to me but all that happens with a complaint is they hide from it and do nothing, hoping I will go away. Avoid.

We have just purchased a summerhouse at findo Vale garden centre, skinners sheds we met Derek in the office who was so helpful very polite, very informative, really good service, communication after sale extremely good, would highly recommend Derek for sales.

Visited Skinners Sheds to buy a playhouse for our grandson, chap in the sales office was friendly and helpful. Delivery and assembly great, the guys were very efficient, polite and friendly.
We had previously bought a shed from this company so were confident about both quality and customer service.

I am delighted with my new shed ,the whole process starting with Tony Ball @Brenzett ,he couldn't have been more helpful with site visits etc .The shed turned up on time ,and was erected by a professional team in no time at all ,no mess no fuss .The site had quite poor access ,had to lift a couple of fence panels. We are pleased with the new potting shed that the Skinners teams built in our garden in Nov 2025.
Both the foundation crew and the shed assembly team arrived as planned and were fast, competent and helpful and did not leave any mess behind. All bespoke requirements were met including extra window opening and extra roof height. We have added a rain gutter and fitted timber panels around the base to keep foxes out.

Everything was brilliant sales,delivery, assembly and a quality shed. We bought the shed at Skinnersshed Findon and are delighted with our new shed.

Excellent. Really quick delivery turnaround and an excellent quality shed that they installed. We have always bought flat pack sheds from places like B&Q, The Range etc. The quality difference and quality of install of this is clearly superior

A sturdy shed which was delivered on time and assembled quickly.
There is a strange wooden upstand where the roof ends making a trap for rain. Also a couple of boards are not completely pushed together and there is a chink of light.
And now it's leaking!
Apart from this it appears to be a strong, good looking shed.

We recently purchased a shed from Skinner Sheds and had the pleasure of dealing with Antonio at Moss End throughout the process. Antonio was extremely helpful, patient, and very knowledgeable from start to finish. We had what must have seemed like endless questions, but he took the time to answer every single one clearly and thoroughly, never making us feel rushed or like anything was too much trouble.
His advice really helped us choose the right shed for our needs, and his friendly, professional approach made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. It’s rare to come across such great customer service these days, and Antonio truly went above and beyond. The delivery team where also polite and very professional when assembling our shed.

When the garden room and shed were purchased, person on sales was very helpful and answered or found answers to our questions.Planning was not required as we were told it was under 2.5mt at highest point. It was only when the local planning authority contacted us that the problems started. With the base we were recommended it now put the building above 2.5 mt. After contacting the site where it was purchased and visiting it that was the last we heard of our problem. I contacted the main website and got an email back saying they had no plans to scale and to use the sales front sheet with a sketch of the building, but this is not to scale. I emailed back to say the sheet will not suit planning requirements and had nothing to do back.I have had to get a scaled front and side elevation done to submit to planning authority and pay a few hundred pounds to submit. Poor after sales service.

They had three great options that would’ve worked, but one in particular stood out: modern, compact, and with all the windows we wanted. It was perfect for a small office pod.

We spoke with Derek, who was exceptionally helpful from the start. He explained the setup, the pricing, how everything worked, and even gave me his mobile number for any direct questions. That level of support made the decision to go ahead really easy.

Because our office included drywalling, air‑conditioning, electrics, and spotlights, the process involved lots of different stages — but everything ran seamlessly. I always knew which tradespeople were coming, on what day, and at what time. Every single person who came was friendly, courteous, and clearly skilled. The quality of the work was exceptional, and the advice along the way was genuinely helpful.

The finished office has surpassed my expectations. It looks fantastic, feels solid, and has completely transformed the space.
