Buyer beware
I wish I could give Snap-On Tools a zero star rating, but unfortunately that is not an option. Despite being a shop owner with over a half million dollars of snap on tools and toolboxes, I don’t expect better service than anybody else. I do, however, expect service. It’s been 5 months since I’ve gotten any assistance, and was told if I didn’t like what was being done, I could purchase the route. Called corporate, nothing being done, despite all unprofessional communication in writing. I will get my items warrantied through corporate and never use them again.
Snap-on Tool failed customer support
I have been an automotive technician for 30 years and have been loyal to snap on for just as long. My issue began 2 years ago. I took a position getting a new shop up and running. I contacted Snap on to get someone over to talk to us about getting a scan tool, ADAS and estimating system up and going. I was told that someone would call me by the end of the week. 2 weeks later I call them back and they tell me the same, 2 weeks after that I call them back and they tell me to be patient that someone will call me soon. After more than a month of waiting I contact Matco and the next day on of their distributers pull up and gives us a demo of their scan toll and estimator system. We had 30 days to test drive the system, like I said I am partial to Snap on so I call them back now over two months from my first call to them only to hear the same old we will have someone call you by the end of the week. We gave it another month, and no one reached out to us. We went with Matco. After 18 months of business a Snap-on rep, not distributor shows up and wants to talk to us about switching to Snap-on. I inform him that we have already invested several thousands of dollars int our Matco systems and are not looking to change. He became defensive and stating that I reached out to Snap-on and implied that I wasted his time. I explained to him that my first request to talk to them was 20 months ago, so he needs to direct his frustration with corporate.
My second issue with Snap-on was getting a distributor to come by to service our shop. We have a distributor that services 3 businesses on our street and he refuses to stop buy. Keep in mind that I also stopped him to talk about setting our shop off with Snap-on tools, to which he responded that we need to call corporate. I called corporate and their response was I will see a distributor within 2 weeks. I called every week for 2 months before we got a distributor to come by. Our distributor was not happy to be here and told me he could only come by ever 2 weeks. I told him I understand that he is busy and we can work with that. every 2 weeks lased for 4 visits, then it was 1 month then 4 months to only getting a text to run my card to make my credit payment. I met up with him to get a torque wrench rebuilt. I got it to him in October of 2024 and never heard back from him. I called corporate and they were not helpful. I finally heard from him when I threatened to file a police report for theft. He texted that he could not stop by but I can meet him on his rout. I agreed and he gave me a location, date and time. I went to the location and was there on time, it was only 2 miles from my shop. He was not there I called him and he told me that he got there earlier and I could meet him else were. I told him no problem that my next stop is the police station to file a report and show them the text messages with him and the emails with corporate. He told me that he would turn around and be right there. It took him 1 min to get back. He opened his door handed me my torque wrench and left. I pulled it out of the package and noticed that the ratcheting head was disassembled, and the parts were not there. I called him and he ignored me I called corporate, and they told me that a DSM would call me to resolve the issue. Suprise no response when I call, I get same BS song and dance that they pride themselves on customer service and they will make it right.
Issue # 3 with Snap-on. This is what finally made me want to speak out. Oure shop uses Mitchel1/Pro demand a division of Snap-on. We found our monthly bill went up 50 dollars and called to find out why, the call center gave me a phone number for our district representative and tol me I would have to call him. I called him and left a voice mail. In what is a pattern with snap on I never heard back from him. I called the next week and left another voice mail asking for a call back. 2 days later he calls. He told me that he does not know why our pricing went up, but he will look into it and call me back in 48 hours. It has been two weeks and no call back. We are now talking to Identifix and will probably get rid of pro demand.
In conclusion Snap-on has gone downhill they do not care about their customer and do not hold their distributors to any standard. They will lie to you and steal.
Problem buying tools from your area where you reside.
Representatives will tell you you cannot buy tools in a location that you do not work for even if the truck stops right next door to your home. My truck salesmen has not stopped at my shop for 10 years. Zack always wants to meet you somewhere way out of my time frame. Business must be good for him to give up sales for that amount of time. Shame on this company for being so un-American like corporation. Can you see a store committed to only doing business with a consumer in the area that you work not where you live. Maybe trump will make America great again and find a way to send Snap on to China.

Bought a combo set of a drill, impact, flashlight, and ratchet for 1400 drill went out a year and a half later tried talking to Snap-on to get it repaired for their lifetime warranty and they instead wanted 145 to get it fixed… so much for quality tool makers such a shit company and shit tools.my opinion matco is cheaper and honestly better quality tool
Snap-on No Warranty for faulty Tools
Mike from Snap-on Tools Wellington NZ will not honor the lifetime warranty for a ratchet Snap-on screwdriver.
Just wanted to argue and charge for parts to fix.
Very poor service would not recommend Snap-on or Mike from Wellington Snap-on franchise.
Don't buy Snap-On Tools!!!
Do not recommend Snap-On. Way to expensive which there are many other tools that will get the job done. Only thing Snap-On has going for them is there lifetime warranty for everything but electric items. Snap-On Credit interest rates are insanely high no matter what your credit score is. Snap-On truck representative just charge your Debt or credit card anytime the please even if you don't owe them anything. Recommend not giving them access to your personal accounts.
Loan Sharks
Snapon is comprised of thieves and loan sharks. Snapon is the first company I have dealt with where I have spent thousands of dollars, only to be threatened and blamed for problems that are solely on their end. The tool truck driver for my location quit and they were unable to find a replacement. I attempted to contact a representative multiple times to set up a payment and couldn't get through to anyone. I finally got in contact with a representative and set up a payment plan. However, I had to file an extension due to the time period that I could not make a payment due to them not having any way to collect. Not only do they pawn the blame off on to me, but they also have threatened that if a single payment is even one day late, they will automatically confiscate my toolbox. They have no intentions of working with their customers and ultimately want to screw you over after taking plenty of your money. I expected far more out of a big name business. I will most likely be taking my business elsewhere.
Worst customer service.Keep sending…
Worst customer service.Keep sending bills where we have already paid. incompetent staff
Wouldn't buy Snap-on tools from now on
Wouldn't buy Snap-on tools from now on. Ratchet Screwdriver has been repaired once already and needs to be repaired again. They don't offer this so called life time warranty on hand tools with moving parts! From experience you can get better tools for less money.
PRIMARK QUALITY AT HARRODS PRICES
PRIMARK QUALITY AT HARRODS PRICES!
I purchased a 6 month old Snapon toolbox off a work colleague but 6 years down the line it’s falling apart like a cheap watch.
The box has been in the same workplace since new and occasionally gets moved around the workshop, it’s not been abused neither has it been rolled in and out of vans all its life.
After complaining about it to head office I had a Snap-On supervisor come to my garage to inspect it. He admitted that there is clearly a manufacturing fault with the toolbox and not the way that it’s been treated. They have now told me that this won’t be covered under their warranty.
Over 20 years being in the trade I’ve only ever bought Snap-on tools, but now their assembly plant is in China (labour and materials) this clearly reflects on the quality of tools.
Other Snap on toolboxes in our workplace are 30/40 years old and still hanging together.
I wouldn’t purchase another item from Snap-on, stick with USA made tools and buy MAC TOOLS.
This company have the worst customer…
This company have the worst customer service, when you call to make subscriptions payment; they do not want to give you reference number of your payment . Just they say you will get it by mail; and hanged off the call no giving you chance to talk or ask anything . They are very fast to collect the money but they do not give good customer service. And if you want to create an online account to make payments is very complicated process like scient rocket
Con artists too young techs.
They completely lie and take advantage of young technicians thinking they are their friend only to find out the horror story of 16% front load interest debt they can't fight their way out of. Hard working young people need mentors and nurturing, not con artists.
Horrible quality...don't stand behind their warranty
Older 1/4" ratchet, handle snapped in my hand. Was a bit shocked. Returned it for warranty, they refused. Said it was abused!! Lol! I guess just using a 1/4 in rachet wrench is abuse by their standards! What garbage. Never buying that overpriced cr@p again. I have several sets and my top end Mastercraft black set has never failed me, and my go to. Snap-on is sh!t.
SNAP ON DEALER JOE GANNON VERY BAD
you buy tools for top price and when you want to warrentee there is not snap on truck available and when you phone customer service and they try to asign someone for you he does not want to do anything for you ... a blue point tire gauge that i spend well over 100 dollars he decided to get me one from amazon for 20 dollars after calling him so many times which they dont return my call used diffrent cell phone then they answer once and then when they know who we are they dont answer and customer service is usless they support the truck driver bucause they dont have enough drivers i guess... so why pay top dollar for tools. if i would buy these tools for much less then snap on i can return it to my local store for a new one on the spot ... snap on you will go out of business very soon if you keep treating your customer this way the snap on driver name is JOE GANNON DO NOT USE HIM HE IS A SCAMMER RUDE AND EVERY THING ELSE BE CAREFULL
We are at the point of removing snap on…
We are at the point of removing snap on from our facility. FOr 1 year we have not had a franchise tool route owner, our previous was removed by Snap on. Been dealing with district manager who does not want to recitify the situation and has said he will not service us in till a new franchise person is found. ANd they have no leads at all, after 1 year. Very poor corporate support after we invested a ton of money in the past few years.

Spent a fortune on tools knowing that i have lifetime warranty...got lots of tools that need replacing or repaired...now the driver got another area and vanished,no phone,media...nothing
Contacted Snap on and they canot do nothing...waste of money
what do you do if you bought a snap on…
what do you do if you bought a snap on tool and the dealer retired, snap on won't honor warranty with without receipt and I can't get any dealer to warranty anything because they say you didn't buy it from me
Unreliable and untrustworthy
I have been waiting 10 months for the trims on my toolbox … 4 years for a replacement key…. The customer service are pleasant but do not deliver… I will not spend another penny with them…. Absolutely disgusting company to deal with
DO NOT BUY SNAP-ON TOOLS
DO NOT BUY SNAP-ON TOOLS
They try to wriggle out of replacing defective tools that don't stand the distance - even when a replacement warranty covers them.
We purchased a new trolley floor jack that failed four months after purchase. Six months later, the jack is still being repaired. Apparently, Jacks are not included in their replacement warranty scheme.
In the end, under pressure, they had to supply us with a loan jack because they didn't have the parts to fix our new jack. (still hasn't arrived)
However, in the meantime, we had to purchase another jack from Repco for half the price, which still works perfectly. AVOID SNAP-ON. They do not stand behind the equipment they sell like they say they do. That's why they don't have a Google Review in Australia and such a low rating on Trust Pilot. 1.5 stars is the lowest rating we have ever seen and everyone at Snap-On management should be ashamed of this low rating. Current Management should be replaced and the reputation of this company rebuilt.
