Somersets Avis 

I've been using Somersets products for about 20 years and have found it one of the best companies in the techno-marketplace with some of my favorite products. Glad to see the company going again, I contacted the company because I could not complete my order from the US. I was very pleased with the immediate response from the new company manager, Olivia Somerset. She clarified that the processes for international orders are not yet back up and running. I look forward to doing business with this fine company again soon.

I know that the full range of products is not as yet available, but I recently ordered Shaving Oil and Face Wash - both were delivered in 3 days!
Had an email from Olivia and she clearly has had a huge amount of work to do, and to get this far is a great credit to her. Looking forward to the Moisturiser coming back on stream and am pleased to be back as a regular customer.

Further to my reviews of 13 and 23 February 2026 Mr Somerset's daughter Olivia replied to both earlier today expressing her hope that I would give Somerset's another chance. Well, I already had; I was running out of the inferior shaving oil that I had been making do with since Somerset's became unavailable so I tried the website again just over a week ago and was delighted to find it now back up and running. I therefore placed an order straight away and it was delivered 3-4 days later. Thank you.
I was very sorry to hear of Mr Somerset's passing, however congratulations to Olivia for getting Somerset's back into production, may I wish you every success for the future. You can count me back as a customer.

It's great that Somersets is back! After trying and failing to find decent alternatives for the past year, it has made me realise how special Somersets is. 4-5 drops and you'll have the smoothest, safest shave. Far far better than any of the competitors and fantastic value too. I ordered 3 bottles and they were delivered the next day. No problems whatsoever. Somersets is absolutely the best! Welcome back!

Delighted Somersets is back

The new site is clear and easy to navigate.

I’ve been a Somersets customer for decades, and was saddened to hear of David’s death when an order wasn’t fulfilled and Olivia responded to my queries. It’s hard enough dealing with the death of someone close, and it’s credit to Olivia that she didn’t just throw in the towel but has completely rebuilt her dad’s business. It’s now running a secure and well-designed website and I’m delighted to be able to reorder my favourite shaving product.

Very pleased that the site is back up and running. I've used their shaving oil for many years (can't recommend it highly enough) and was running low. New site and merchant services checkout very intuitive and efficient.

I used to work for David on and off for the past 20 years. With great delight David's daughter has now got the business back up and running, With a great Delivery service and a better online experience for all.

I have done this review because Somerset's was always a big part of my life. After the passing of Mr somerset himself this brings me nothing but happiness that His Daughter Olivier has taken Over to bring this amazing product to even greater success and I look forward for to see the future of somersets.

The shaving oil is superb.

David, the owner and operator of this small business, has died. His daughter Olivia has suspended taking any orders while she sorts out the business. It is unclear whether it will continue.

I've used Somersets shave oil for about 20 years, but my last order from Canada did not get filled, and an email produced no reply. While my credit card was not charged by Somersets, perhaps a month after ordering it was used for a small fraudulent transaction at a parkin meter in Montreal (I live several hundred miles to the west). I immediately contacted the issuing bank, and on investigation was told the card had actually been used for a several thousand dollar transaction which failed because the expiry date was incorrect. I was told that getting the correct expiry date by trial and error at parking meters is common, and that after I cancelled the card it was again attempted to charge several thousand dollars.
Somerset products also seem to be out of stock at all online retailers that used to carry it, which suggests the company is out of business, and the ordering site has been taken over by fraudsters.
The ordering website was always problematical, as one had to enter credit card information into an unprotected form, leaving it very vulnerable to this kind of fraud.

Do not buy from this company it’s a scam! They take orders and never send out , no way in contacting them .

Only put the 1 star as I can't put 0stars. No delivery. No communications. Abandon hope all who sail on the bad ship David Somerset. Shame really because the shaving oil was pretty good

I put in an order over a month ago, but nothing has arrived. I emailed them twice but they ignored both.
I gather that this is a problem experienced by many, which is sad because it's just dishonest.
I later found that my debit card had been hacked and over £800 had been spent on betting sites. Be warned.

Gone bust? Still taking money on its internet store: Here's what I'm finding - company defunct, original owner possibly a David Priaulx Collas, with Collco Trading Limited operating the business and website, who cannot be traced. Alive or dead? Company registration shows that, more recently, Olivia Adamson became a director on 1 February 2026, with PSC filings for Olivia Adamson on 17 February 2026 and for Christine Collas on 6 March 2026.

This is a obituary notice in honour of David Somerset who sold a great product at reasonable prices. The company website appears to have been taken over by criminals. Who collect your credit card details after taking your order and acknowledging it by email. In my case no money was taken from the initial oder but a stupid 37p attempt was made to test the card which was detected. I am now awaiting a replacement.
Whoever has the power should update the website to warn people of the situation or take it down.

I sent a letter by post & I had a very nice email reply. The reason that we have seen all these
bad reviews is that David has died after an illness . His daughter Olivia sent me the email saying the website is not working. Hope this helps.

Similar to other people, I placed an order late in Dec, received a confirmation email but the product never arrived. I’ve been buying from Somersets directly for years so I gave it a good few weeks and nothing, sent them a few emails - no response, call their landline - the number is disconnected

The only conclusion is that the company doesn’t operate anymore - I think someone needs to take their website down otherwise more people will go through the same experience

As noted regarding orders placed recently my order last month was not delivered despite an acknowledgement email from the listed email address (no order number though ....). No reply to follow up email to that address. Like several other reviewers my credit card was compromised shortly afterwards. Great shame as like many others have ordered directly from Somerset's for years.
