While fulfilment has always been a bit iffy, the company seems to have ceased operating. Order placed mid-December has not arrived over 5 weeks later. Phone number on website is no longer in operatio... Voir plus

Somersets is an English family business specialising in shaving oils and skincare for men and women. Founded by David Somerset in Henley-on-Thames in 1991, the brand began with a practical idea: to make shaving a more comfortable part of everyday life. David developed the original shaving oil and grew the range with natural ingredients at its heart. A note on our recent history Between 2024 and early 2026, the business experienced significant disruption as David became less involved and sadly passed away in 2025. During this period, our former website was also compromised. Some reviews from these years reflect the difficulties customers experienced. We are sorry for the frustration and disappointment caused, and recognise that this context does not undo those experiences. A new chapter in 2026 Over summer 2026, David’s daughter Olivia led the modernisation of Somersets. In September 2026, we relaunched with a rebuilt website, secure checkout powered by Shopify and a renewed supply chain. The familiar Somersets products and family heritage remain, with new systems supporting how we take and manage your orders. A fantastic product, but impossible to purchase.
A fantastic product, but very hard to find in shops. Ordering on-line looked to be no problem, but almost a month later nothing has been sent yet. The company doesn’t respond to mails, the phone number on the website seems to be disconnected. The parent company (Collco Trading Ltd.) Found a different phone number online, and the person I spoke to told me they had “issues with their payment system”. I hope this isn’t a euphemism for: we’re bankrupt. Their product would be truly missed.

Ceased trading?
My partner has used Somersets shaving oil for years and (like many!) swears by it, but this is a heads up for those thinking of ordering direct from Somersets. The last time I successfully ordered from them was in 2023. I placed new order with them recently, in May 2025. All appeared fine at first. I received an email confirming my order as usual. Then... nothing. Weeks later, Somersets have not responded to my email enquiring about my order, and the (Brighton area code) phone number on their website has been disconnected.
On the plus side, no payment appears to have been taken.
I have to assume that Somersets have ceased trading? That being so, we're sorry to see them go, but they should close their online shop.
EDIT, JULY 2025: Hiya AB. Yes, very obviously an insecure site now, and flagged as such by my browser, but that’s a more recent development. There were no such red flags back in May. I got a couple of the shaving oils off eBay instead, but expect that’ll be the last time. Pity!
