A little disappointed
Let me preface this review by saying I totally appreciated S&B use reclaimed wood and the fact the wood is not perfect is part of the charm. However, my Andersson table did arrive damaged and there were a couple of scuffs out the top of the table which were a totally different colour to the rest of the table. I emailed S&B immediately who acknowledged the table was not supposed to be that way and stated they would send some wax in the post to wax the table and help the scuff blend with the rest of the table. They also offered £50 due to the inconvenience. I requested £100 (on the basis I felt I shouldn’t be waxing a table I paid good money for) and they agreed. Later on, my partner came home and noticed a reasonably large chip out of one of the legs which was highlighted by the fact it was a different colour to the rest of the table. I emailed S&B again to ensure the wax would blend this in. Their response was disappointing. They confirmed the wax would blend this in but offered no apology or acknowledgment that there was another issue with the table and a second area I would need to wax which is further inconvenience. The wax has arrived but I have not attempted this yet as my partner works away a lot and I am alone with a young baby (so I don’t actually get the time) and although the wax came with instructions, do not feel comfortable or skilled enough to do this alone! So although I love the table (and the dining chairs are stunning) I am a little disappointed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and I’m so sorry that you feel disappointed with your experience. I have personally reviewed the correspondence and, although I can see that we tried to offer a practical solution, I’m very sorry that you weren’t given a more sincere apology or clearly offered the option of a replacement. This was never our intention, and a replacement should absolutely have been presented as the first option when your table arrived with damage.
Where we believe an excellent repair outcome is possible, we may also offer a simple at-home solution as a matter of convenience, avoiding the disruption of returning and replacing a large item. In those circumstances, we will also always look to compensate the customer fairly for their time and inconvenience. However, this should only ever be offered as an option, not something you feel expected to undertake.
An assumption was made that you were happy to repair the affected areas with the wax, and we’re very sorry if that wasn’t the case. We also should have responded with much greater care when you contacted us about the additional mark.
As the owner of Still & Bloom, I’d like to personally apologise for your experience on this occasion. We’re a small family business and genuinely care about every piece of furniture we make and every customer’s experience, so I’m particularly disappointed that our communication left you feeling this way.
I will reach out to you personally to discuss the options and ensure the matter is fully resolved. Thank you for your kind words about the table and chairs, despite the disappointment you’ve experienced.

My Splay side table (Antique) arrived…
My Splay side table (Antique) arrived this week and I absolutely love it. The quality and finish are excellent, very rustic which is just what I was looking for. Arrived earlier than expected and the delivery guy was very obliging. Top marks all round and would highly recommend.

The table is lovely but putting it…
The table is lovely but putting it together not so great, the legs weren’t labelled A and B so we tried both but either way the screws were very difficult to get in, so much so that we haven’t been able to screw them in completely.
