Poor Communication & Pressure to Continue Paying for Unused Service

Very disappointing experience. Once they take your money, communication becomes extremely poor. I received no reminder whatsoever that my contract was due for renewal, yet they are now aggressively demanding payment for a service I no longer need or use.

I signed up to help promote my business, but after two years I did not receive a single enquiry from them. Despite explaining my situation and that my business has effectively ceased trading, there seems to be no willingness to show fairness or understanding.

I genuinely do not understand how companies are allowed to automatically renew contracts without properly notifying customers and then pressure them into continuing to pay for services that provide no benefit.

I understand contracts exist, but there should still be fairness, understanding, and reasonable communication — especially when someone has clearly explained their financial difficulties and that their business is no longer operating as before.

Addendum: 18/05/2026
If you truly listen to your clients and genuinely want to provide the best possible service, then perhaps it’s time to review the small print within your contracts.

You are the only company I personally know that does not send a reminder before automatic renewal, and requiring 3 months’ notice is excessive. Most companies provide at least 2–4 weeks’ notice prior to renewal as a matter of good business practice and fairness.

If your ethos is truly centred around customer service, then these contract terms should be reconsidered. It is quite clear from online feedback and complaints that many clients are unhappy with these renewal practices, yet nothing appears to have been done to address them.

Dear Maria,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We’re sorry to hear you are disappointed with the outcome and your experience of the service.

However, we would like to clarify that this is a business-to-business agreement and the renewal terms, including the auto-renewal provision and notice period required to cancel, are clearly set out within the signed contract agreed at the outset. By entering into that agreement, both parties accepted those terms.

In relation to renewal communication, the responsibility to cancel within the agreed notice period sits with the contracting party, as outlined in the contract. The agreement does not require additional reminder notices beyond what is contractually specified.

We also note your comments regarding use of the service. It is clear from our records that the service has not been actively utilised during the contract term. However, the agreement relates to the provision of marketing services for the contracted period, not on a usage basis, and the contractual fee remains payable regardless of level of engagement or outcomes achieved.

We appreciate that circumstances can change over time, including changes in trading status. However, contractual obligations remain in place unless cancelled in accordance with the agreed terms.

That said, we do not wish for this matter to escalate unnecessarily and remain open to discussing it with you directly if you would like to explore your options going forward.

Kind regards,
The Golf Growth Group

Edit --

Dear Maria,

Thank you for your further comments.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective, and we are sorry that you remain dissatisfied.

However, we do need to be clear that the terms you are referring to are not “small print” in the sense suggested. The renewal provisions, including the notice period and auto-renewal structure, are expressly set out within the signed agreement and form part of the core commercial terms accepted at the outset of the contract. This is a standard feature of fixed-term business-to-business service agreements.

While we understand your view regarding reminders and notice periods, there is no contractual requirement for additional renewal reminders to be issued. The responsibility to manage cancellation within the agreed terms sits with the contracting party, as set out in the agreement both parties signed.

We also note your comments regarding service usage and outcomes. The agreement relates to the provision of marketing services over a fixed contractual term, and is not conditional on specific results or levels of engagement. As such, fees remain payable in accordance with the agreed terms regardless of utilisation or perceived return.

With respect to broader comments about fairness and general practice, we do of course take all feedback seriously. However, contractual terms cannot be retrospectively altered based on preference after the agreement has been entered into and performed.

Finally, while we recognise you may be disappointed, we do not accept the characterisation that these terms are unusual or unfair within a commercial B2B context. That said, we remain open to discussing the matter constructively with you directly should you wish to do so.

Kind regards,
The Golf Growth Group

Constantly getting unsolicited emails…

Constantly getting unsolicited emails from these people, never heard of them, dont play golf, And as a sole trader here they are breaking the law by sending emails to me without me ever having any dealings with them, it even says on their email to me, and i quote "We have sent this email to -my company name- having found the company contact details online."

So finally I too the risk of hitting unsubscribe, a thing I normally tell people not to do if getting emails from places that you had never had any dealings with..

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We’re sorry to hear you feel this way. We understand how unwanted emails can be frustrating.

To clarify, we work with an external email marketing provider and all data used for outreach is sourced from publicly available business information. This is a standard B2B marketing practice and does not involve sending emails to private individuals.

Every email we send includes a clear unsubscribe link, which immediately removes the contact from our mailing list when used. If you have already done this, you should not receive any further communications from us.

If you believe any email address is still receiving messages in error, please contact us directly with the relevant details and we will ensure it is fully removed from our system without delay.

Kind regards,
The Golf Growth Group

Extremely aggressive auto-renewal practice — read the small print carefully

Our business Elite Renewables signed up to a corporate marketing package a couple of years ago and chose not to renew this year, as we didn't use the service. The Golf Growth Group has insisted that because we didn't give 3 months' written notice ahead of the renewal date, we're automatically locked into a further full year of fees regardless.

When the team member who originally signed was asked, he stated clearly in writing that the 3-month notice requirement and auto-renewal clause were not flagged to him at the point of sale. We raised this in correspondence, and the response has been that the terms were in the contract and that's the end of it.

We have now received what amounts to a threat of debt recovery action over a renewal we don't want, didn't consciously roll into, and have no use for as a business.

If you are considering this membership: read every line of the T&Cs before signing, look specifically for the auto-renewal clause and the notice window, and put the cancellation date in your diary the day you sign. The terms are tightly drawn in the supplier's favour.

Would not recommend. Would not use again.

Hi Tim,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

We’re sorry to hear you are disappointed with the renewal outcome. However, we would like to clarify that this is a business-to-business agreement and the renewal terms, including the notice period and auto-renewal structure, are clearly set out within the signed contract agreed at the outset of the relationship.

As part of that agreement, membership continues on an annual basis unless cancelled in accordance with the notice period provided. This is a standard commercial arrangement and applies equally to all clients.

We do not operate “hidden” or informal renewal processes, and all contractual terms are presented prior to signature and acceptance. Once agreed, both parties are bound by those terms.

We understand that contract renewals can sometimes be overlooked in busy business environments, which is why we encourage all clients to diarise renewal dates in advance.

That said, we are always open to constructive discussion and would welcome the opportunity to resolve any concerns directly. If you would like to discuss this further, our team remains available to speak with you privately.

Kind regards,
The Golf Growth Group

Great Team, Great experience, Average Golf

Played at the Belfry today, and all I can say is it was a great experience. Greeted by the team upon arrival and welcomed to the venue. Given a few snacks and goodies for the round which was a bonus. Lovely team and will help with anything you need, except for adding some more shots to my handicap!!

All together a great day, rounded off by a few drinks and prizes for the winners. Couldn’t wish for much more.
