Samantha said that she had read the file and saw nothing unusual in Octopus charging £250 per month for a small one-bedroom flat in a retirement community where neighbours in identical flats pay £45 - £70.
She also failed to understand that Octopus do not add missed payments to charges for later months.

I am a vulnerable adult for reasons in my personal life, which was pertinent to the situation with Zinc. It has been very difficult to make contact with the Zinc group due to my vulnerability. Today though, I phoned and was answered by Jake Reed. He could not have been better! He was professional throughout, but his handling of my vulnerability was second to none, and I am very grateful! He is VERY good at human facing interaction: )

I found it very easy to speak with Alan sounds a lovely person he explained everything really well I find it hard to talk in the phone but Alan make me feel at ease, no one would have any problems if they were all like Alan,

I contacted Zinc Group today about an Octopus Energy debt I was anxious about resolving. I spoke to Shaun, who was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding - especially given I’ve been dealing with serious illness along with being neurodivergent (ADHD and Autism) and I was finding the whole process quite stressful. He listened properly, didn’t rush me and agreed a monthly payment plan that’s genuinely affordable for me. It made a huge difference to be treated with respect and compassion rather than just processed as a number. Thank you Shaun, it won’t be forgotten.

My personal experience with Zinc Group has been very satisfactory. The customer service staff are most helpful, friendly and able to answer all my questions . This does not feel like debt collection, more like supportive financial mediation. Zinc helped me manage my debt steadily and in a realistic time frame with ease of communication and total transparency. I'm very thankful for the support I received from Zinc.
