6a going from city centre to Forestside has been late all week. I get it on the Cregagh Road, meant to come at about 8.48am, hasn't showed up, then guess what 2 buses have been coming together at 9 am... Voir plus

Mean workers and table situation
The man who sold me my ticket in the waterside station was unnecessarily mean and over charged me for my return ticket to Belfast. As a CHILD I should not be interrogated and forced to buy an adult ticket. Once on the train, as a group of 7, we would preferably like to get two tables beside each-other, but some people need one big table for themselves, which we think is very unfair. 1 person taking up a 4 seat table seems very greedy, as obviously no one wants to sit beside a random unless you have to. Could be a better use of policy instead of not letting people sit on the floor in the waiting area.

Bus is repeatedly late or doesn’t show up - rely on it on some days to get in to work. Have to leave the house two hours earlier and always end up getting the last possible bus because it’s only one that shows up. I’m a patient person but also called multiple times to the contact centre and get fed the typical fake empathy - ‘I understand’ and finger pointing to depots who haven’t let them know so every point of contact / service is pretty useless. Probably the worst public transit I’ve ever experienced in a city… get it together and have some courtesy to at least give people updates.
Nearly perfect experience, lovely staff, and super convenient for our needs
I was so surprised to see so many negative reviews here. We were visiting Northern Ireland from the US this holiday season. We had a brilliant experience with Translink trains. We used to app to book all our tickets and then printed copies via the machines at the stations. We found the trains nice and the employees even nicer. We used the ferry port at Larne, the Whitehead station, and Grand Central in Belfast. All of them were well organized and on time. Had a nice chat with the gentleman at Whitehead and the woman who checked tickets between there and Belfast was an absolute joy! Always nice to be welcomed and to have a laugh. We found Grand Central to be very nice and using the trains for our visit allowed us to leave our car in Scotland and save time, parking fees, and driving headaches in Belfast as well. Highly recommend and will use again when we visit Ireland in the future.
Completely unreliable!
The least reliable service in the world! If I could give this minus stars I would! Stood in the freezing cold for scheduled buses and nothing came! Horrendous!
Rip off merchants
Our first attempt at using the new ticket machine at the train station you cannot buy a return ticket but instead they call it an off peak one day which we did not know so we paid £24 for a one way from Cullybackey to Belfast for 2 people and when we enquired at the grand central about changing them to a return ticket they said they could not do anything because they were bought in Cullybackey and then worse than that when we went to get the 21.10 home it was another £31 so two return tickets to Belfast cost us £55 what a disgrace shame on you translnk
Stood at Dublin Road for 45 minutes…
Stood at Dublin Road for 45 minutes that other day. 4 buses were scheduled and 0 showed up. 1 bus read "journey cancelled" for an unknown reason (surprise, surprise).
This is just one of the many awful experiences I've had with public transport in this city and with this business.
Get the finger out, Translink. Do better.
A great day out!!…
Got the 7.00 enterprise on Saturday 22nd and returned 3.50 train. Service brilliant. We did upgrade as trains were very busy because of rugby. All members of staff lovely effecient and above all friendly. Also great tge chap in central station who retrieved out tickets from the machine! The only downside is the holding pen in Dublin Connolly. A disgrace in this day and age!!
Another half hour to get a ticket!
No-one warned how long it takes to get from Gt Victoria St to platform.
Nor fact that senior smartpass not accepted at ticket machines. Advised to take another walk to a ticket office to get a ticket. Missed train. Very very poor.
Absolutely awful service
Absolutely awful service, delays all the time. Trains running late because staff can't get into work on time. Grand Central Station newly built and complete unfit for purpose, no drop off area for taxis etc. Trains to/from Portadown are so poorly timed that people have to run to make connections or wait for 20 mins for a connection from/to City Hospital and beyond.
Complete joke
Complete joke, why can you not give a minus star.
So you live in larne work mullusk belfast bus drives through sandyknowes to get to Belfast, but bus won't stop you have to go into belfast then you have to pay for another bus to bring you back???? Seriously translink Seriously need to sort your runs out nuts pure nuts
Absolutely awful and overpriced train…
Absolutely awful and overpriced train service. I've experienced hours long delays, late train cancellations, the new ticket machines take payment but sometimes don't print your ticket and at £10 to get to the NEXT TOWN you end up doubling the fare because translink do everything in their power to refuse you a refund. The train station in Antrim only has one attendee at the belfast side if your gong to Londonderry/Portrush in the mornings you'll have to risk the machines or walk up over the bridge and back. And God forbid you need the toilet when you get off in Ballymena, the toilets are always locked in the mornings. For some reason, the service gets worse but we keep paying more. Absolutely disgusted.
I just needed to be in Northern Ireland…
I just needed to be in Northern Ireland for four months to agree that this is the worst bus service I’ve ever experienced. I should’ve written this review when I was living there last year, but it’s not too late. Some days, the web would say that the bus would arrive at x time and it ended up arriving two hours later, didn’t get lunch that day. But the worst experience was when it picked us up from school. Kilkeel-Newry was the worst bus 100%. All the other busses would leave and the bus driver would park at the end of the avenue, pouring rain outside and wouldn’t let us get in so we wouldn’t get wet and then, wait 20-40 minutes so they would remember they are at work. Unacceptable. And 10% of the times, school would finish at 15:10 but the bus left at 15:08. Unbelievable.
Bus driver was super rude
Bus driver with grey hair was super rude about not having my pass. Day ruined.
Excellent Bangor to Ards service
I was trying to cross a very busy road and the driver waited when he saw me struggling
bus drivers never actually show up
buses are so unpredictable here, it's impossible to get to college or work
booked a coach from Newry to Dublin…
booked a coach from Newry to Dublin airport. Allowed plenty of time but sadly Translink sent an incompetent driver and a shed of a vehicle. We were pulled up on the motorway for almost an hour. When the new vehicle arrived the driver struggled 3 times to get the vehicle moving. I missed my flight meaning I had to pay an extra £266 for a flight 6 hours later and was then delayed for a further 3 hours. Would have been safer, cheaper and more comfortable getting a taxi
Excellent conductor
Was coming back from a concert in Dublin and was travelling to Derry on 13.10 train.around Ballymena there was an incident with a passenger who hadn't paid his fare. The conductor on duty was very professional on way he handled situation, thanks to him it didn't escalate further. Many thanks
Racist drivers.
Bullshit bro, total garbage, the drivers cannot be bothered to get here on time, constant cancellations, they just don't show up, I was constantly later for all my highschool years because busses were my only way to school, now the same shit again with college, I recently started taking the trains instead which are so much better but the stations are too far and sometimes I still have to take the bus. The bus today was very late but showed up and I asked him if the bus goes to the destination I'm trying to go and he said no, and told me to get off and get myself sorted, I took my card out to but a ticket and he rolled his eyes on me and started mumbling curses at me, I look and sound clearly not here and with the never ending racism it's already hard to live in northern Ireland but to call me slurs and acting like I'm a "dumb bi*ch" (word for word, he called me a "dumb bi*ch"), outrageous, as soon as my college ends I'm moving out of this continent, I cannot deal with this anymore, "get back to where you came from" well guess what, I'd love to.
Translink in Belfast is the worst…
Translink in Belfast is the worst public transport service I have ever used anywhere in the world. they never show up on time, if they show up at all and the route layout means everything runs to the centre which is such a waste of time. No wonder traffic congestion is so bad when the public can never rely on public transport. Please send your failing managers to London or Dublin so see how a service should run. You are an embarrassment to our city.
I'd like to express how efficient the…
I'd like to express how efficient the help I get on X was exceptional. Every queries I asked are answered in a timely manner. Couldn't fault them at all. My only gripe with Translink are specifically METROBUS drivers, rude and dismissive whereas the others were friendly.
