Great product for a small business!

This service offers so much more than just basic phone and I barely touched it but it's there for when I'm ready to grow. Very unexpected and very reasonable pricing. Super easy to set up up and I appreciated being able to the use the app on my phone for all calls.

I love Tresta

I love Tresta. Their customer services representatives always pick up the phone and speak with you on the first ring. Their personalized service and professionalism is unmatched. They always call back when they say they will. Their hands-on approach to doing business is so refreshing in this age of technology. I would definitely recommend Tresta for all your businesses calling needs.

Don't use Tresta if you have any need for a backend to process the backend information it produces

I have worked with Tresta's sister company - Hosted Numbers - for over 10 years. 100% happy with Hosted Numbers. I tried Tresta because I needed my tracking phone numbers to be text-able. The problem is that Tresta has almost NO reporting functionality. That is, I have to manually process the all the data for the responses to the Tresta phone / text numbers I use which basically makes Tresta useless to me. I cannot afford to use Tresta without an adequate reporting backend like Hosted Numbers has. With Tresta one CANNOT pull in the data to an Excel spread sheet; you have to record each communication manually which is insane. Tresta surely is losing bucket loads of business because of the non-existent reporting back end. I WANT to use Tresta very much but they do not seem to have any intention or interest in building out the functionality of their back end. This must be done if they want to grow or even stay in business.

Brian in Tallahassee, FL really helped me with a difficult issue. For some reason I was not getting the notification on my cell phone with a client called and couldn't figure out why, I was quite frustrated. But thank God Brian came to my rescue that tried several trouble shooting techniques, discovered the problem and made the correction! He is a GENIUS and deserves a RAISE!! This resolution has my business line back up and running as it should. I can't tell you how appreciative I am that Brian was the one who took my call. I'm all smiles now!

Tresta is a trifling disgusting company…

Tresta is a trifling disgusting company that choose the right one. I have been getting emails from them for over a YEAR. Finally i took the time to look into the email to see what the fuss is about. Apparently i signed up for a trial? Maybe? I don't even remember and i guess they couldn't get to charge my account after trial ended, they still decided to formulate a bill for a month's service outside of the trial anyways, unlike any other American company that knows what a successful social media marketing campaign entails hahahaha.

Tresta embodies the definition of petty, childish and downright pathetic. Instead of cancelling the account you know like 99% of all companies, they decided to push the charges anyway and now they are threatening to send my account to collections for a service i never used or accessed outside of the trial. This is 2021, NO COMPANY BRINGS CUSTOMERS TO COLLECTIONS SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY FORGOT TO CANCEL THE TRIAL. Users be warned, if you signup for their free trial and didn't even bother using it because its complicated or because Textnow is a much better solution and free by the way, you will also have your info sent to collections for a service you never even got around to using. Disgusting service. At the end of the day, the company is an extortionist and is now threatening my credit score for a service I never even tried. Next up a review complete with screenshots at the Better Business Bureau and any social media profiles you have.

I'm editing my review from a one star to a three just because of the quick response to resolve the problem that I am having. They haven't necessarily fixed the problem yet, but as a business owner I can definitely respect the fact that they have already reached out to me and that they stand behind the product and they are trying to find out why I'm having such difficulties. I was told they would be reaching back out to me to let me know what they find.

Ok, but could needs basics fixed

Definitely not for small business that are just self employed or only have a few employees. Not user friendly.

Pros:
First I want to say the customer service is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and fast to get you answers.

The call quality is excellent.

It’s pretty cool you can have a vanity number and add the business name into the number 555-easy or 555-boat

Cons:
- I can’t add a new customers contact from a customer the app. I started a new business and added Tresta just for the business...so when people see my online add...and call me...they call my Tresta number. I can’t add their number unless I sync my phone contact list. You know the one with 13 years of contacts from the oil and gas industry I’m no longer a part of. Then (I’m guessing) I’ll have to go through and manually delete all those people....

- I can’t assign a different ringtone to differentiate between customers on the Tresta number and my regular cell number. I had to add the Tresta number as a contact in the regular contact list first, then assign a ringtone. But that’s as far as you can go.

I can’t find a video or some sort information that tells me what all these features are and how they benefit me...

Google voice is simpler, google voice is free, google voice allows me to add/edit contacts from the google voice app, change ringtones for anyone, and block individuals all from within the app

This isn’t a plug for google voice. I assumed that Tresta would be like google voice, but so much better for businesses...I was wrong. Google voice is like carrying a different phone without the phone. Tresta is like having a call center handle your calls

And the worse part for me was we started using the number on all the business cards, shirts, and marketing mater BEFORE I attempted to use the app. Now we are stuck with it. Definitely not for small business that are either self employed or only have a few employees and where you need it simple.

And thank you for your positive comments about our customer service team and call quality – these are, of course, top priorities for us, and we are glad it shows. That being said, we hate that we didn’t have all of the features you need right now, but the good news is that our product team has been working on everything you’ve mentioned in your review.

Later this summer, we’ll be releasing a major overhaul to contacts, and in this new version of contacts, we’ll no longer sync your Tresta contacts with your personal contacts on your phone. Instead, you will have the option to import contacts from your phone or from a CSV file, or you can manually add, edit and delete contacts in both our web and mobile apps.

After the new version of contacts is released, we’ll be adding two additional new features that we get lots of requests for: calling and texting in the web app. As part of these releases, we’ll be providing additional options that will allow you to further customize your experience, including the ringtones you mentioned.

Regarding Google Voice - we know that for some people, a free, simple phone service is all they need. But we’ve migrated lots of customers to Tresta from Google Voice because they were having reliability problems with Google Voice and discovered the hard way that, when it comes to free, you get what you pay for. We believe that $15/mo is a small price to pay to ensure your business phone number will always work reliably, with great call quality and, if you ever need it, outstanding customer service.

However, we never want any customer to feel stuck with our platform, and if you still feel like Tresta isn’t right for you, please give us a call at 844-2-TRESTA and we can help you port your number to another provider. (As an FYI - the law actually requires that local numbers are portable amongst all providers, so no phone company can legally keep a number you are using in their service. Though don’t get us wrong, we’d help you move your number regardless, because we think it’s just the right thing to do.)

Sorry for the lengthy reply, but we wanted to address your feedback as head-on as possible. We hope you will stick with us for a few months to give us time to release our new contacts upgrade, but if you do decide to move your number elsewhere, we’re happy to help either way.

Just moved to Tresta from a competitor…

Just moved to Tresta from a competitor product that was 3x the price. Been using the Tresta service for about 4 days vs 1 year with previous provider. I am in Canada with IPhone 11 Max.
Pros: Better audio quality, better transparency about what the app is ‘doing’ - it explains how the outbound calls work and why it’s dialing your 1-800# first.
Gives the option to accept or reject the call, and you can see the call ID - great to avoid nuisance calls.
Easier voicemail access and notifications.
Way better price with the feel of a scrappy upstart
Cons
Is there a call blocking feature? If there is I can’t find it so far.

I emailed them after noticing multiple…

I emailed them after noticing multiple charges on my VISA. I let them know I didn’t make the account and gave them my VISA number. They’ve emailed me twice letting me know that there isn’t an account associated with my name or email! That’s the point!! Now I’m waiting for my bank and the police to get back to me. Horrible customer service and they’re clearly enabling fraud and telephone scams because you don’t even need to have a credit card with your own name! Horrible company!

I am so sorry someone stole your credit card! Unfortunately, even though we have implemented rigorous fraud checks and processes, criminals sometimes find ways to circumvent the systems, and that looks like what happened here. The good news is, once we received enough identifying information on your credit card, we were able to match it to an account and we immediately deactivated everything to prevent further charges while you went through the process of notifying your card company that it was stolen. We are also very aggressive at prosecuting fraud when possible, so if you filed a police report and we can assist, please don't hesitate to email legal@tresta.com for help. Please rest assured, we hate fraud just as much as you do and will never assist/enable scams - we are always refining, improving and tightening security to stay ahead of the criminals whenever possible. Lots of Spam, Robo Dialer, Blacked numbers.

Do not sign up for this. All you'll get is robo dialer and spam calls. They also make it very difficult for you to cancel because the only way to cancel is to call the number. It's contradicting to be a startup company with all the features for the app but no cancellation feature.

Moreover, they will try and charge your account for the days its online even tho you have no usage they will make you pay the last billing cycle before canceling as well.

They will try to spin that they need to verify you before cancelling when competitors do not require that nor with other companies like netflix, spotify, att, or apple one.

It's just a trick to add more delay in hope the longer you procrastinate you forget to cancel or add more days for their prorated charge to bill you more.

I highly recommend not to use this company, there are far better options out there that are more friendly in usage and experience.

We are listening to feedback like this and want you and other potential readers of this review to know that we are working to address both of these requests (an in-app cancellation feature and a spam blocker) as quickly as possible. Please know that it was never our intent to trick customers or delay cancellations...our product roadmap was just focused on adding features as a priority, but based on feedback we've received, however, we shifted our roadmap so that we could add this functionality in as soon as possible. To try to avoid situations like this, we also offer one of the most aggressive free trials in our industry (full access to the platform for a full 30 days), because we want to make sure our customers love the product before committing to the monthly fee. If customers cancel after the free trial period is over, we only charge them a pro-rated fee for the days they had the service activated, and we never charge for usage - it is always unlimited. As for the spam calls, we are VERY sympathetic here. Spam calls in this country have grown exponentially, and while we can't always control who calls your number, we are working on some features that will reduce their volume significantly. We are sorry that we won't get to share these features with you when they are released, but appreciate that you took the time to try us out and also that you provided us with your thoughts on why it didn't work for you.

I've been a Tresta customer for a…

I've been a Tresta customer for a little while now, and I can't believe that anyone would have anything but positive things to say. I left from a competing service because I was having issues there, and I've had the best experience. The service is always reliable, it's easy to use on both desktop and mobile, and I've never had a single issue with crashing, bad reception, or anything else that's so common with other services. The support is also outstanding; I had a question about setting up my voicemail, and they were able to get me squared away almost instantly while being friendly and efficient.

I really do recommend this service for small business owners like myself.

Very slow app

Generally speaking, the service is not bad. However, the reason for three stars is the extremely slow app (at least on Android). Just opening it to check messages or make calls takes an unacceptably long time, and sometimes even becomes unresponsive. After it's open, it's very slow to respond as well. It's a pity because otherwise they offer pretty good features for a decent price.

There are time i have to shut my phone down completely because i can not access the text message or the voice message.
Now i am getting other people's voice mails.

Love this application
