Almost always impossible to login either via website or app. Always errors, or unavailable, or some such stupid excuse. Can't unfreeze temporarily, so can't do any credit apps. Stuck. After a very long time going through layer after layer of robotic online verification, I finally got a live person (English as 2nd language) who very slowly ran through yet another verification process. It took about an hour to get a 24-hr freeze lifted. This is a dysfunctional company and should be bankrupt!

If are ever in need of a credit inquiry please ask the verifier to use any credit reporting agency BUT Transunion. Its customer service is the worst of the worst.
The website is very problematic. It lets you login one day and blocks you another day. I think it suffers from an overzealous and incompetent security.
Next when you try to contact customer support it first prompts you to answer many questions then redirects you to a live agent who then asks the same questions AGAIN.
Somewhere in the middle of the already frustrating experience the agent sends me a link to authenticate myself. When I complete that it sends me to a brand NEW session where I need to resubmit all my information once again!
They keep trying to get the customer to repeat the same troubleshooting steps multiple times never acknowledging the issue on their side.
Transunion is not a credit reporting agency. It is a credit torturing agency. Hate them.

I received an adverse response for my car insurance quote. Now, I have been away from the U.S.A. for several years, this is new to me. There are two numbers, lexis nexus and transunion. I cannot do this online at all.
Calling the 800 number, after 5 minutes of pressing buttons over and over because the automated system does not understand the response (chooose 1 or 2) I then get a recording to call back during regular business hours.
Shouldn't this be at the front of the recording? Save time, money, and bandwidth?
I have had a host of problems over the years with credit reports. At one point, in the early 2000s my reports was completely gone, missing, deleted, whatever. I actually had a print copy from a year before, I mailed that into them.
Several data breaches later, I'm curious if I exist? I have been in Europes so I cannot say.

I attempted to switch my phone company - FIVE TIMES without any luck as trans Union has to experiment with AI - CIAM.TUI - is responsible for this fiasco. As a retired CIO, I know a few things from experience. I hope Trans Union' AI does not BRING YOU DOWN.

Transunion wants you to PAY money to fix fraudulent inquiry
Equifax exposed all of my information and family's information including my SSN. Someone tried to open an account with Discover Card in my name using my SSN. Discover card said they would remove the HARD inquiry but not the soft and told me they would mail me a letter and i need to contact all 3 credit bureaus to have the soft fraudulent inquiry removed. i called transunion who refused to help me. i was told i need to MAIL certified copies of my ID, Address, the letter from Discover and other documents. I asked for a manager 4 times. I am not paying money to remove a fraudulent inquiry. Transunion put me on hold and left me there for 20 minutes and never returned. I hung up and reported Transunion to BBB and posting here so people are aware of how they treat customers and how Transunion wants you to pay money out of pocket to CORRECT fraud on your credit report.
Easy to create an account
It was very easy to create an account, and the site even told me when I needed to renew my fraud alert. So far, so good.

Incompetent company with horrible customer service and trash website, the only reason all of this is going and they are not out of business deceds ago is because they illegally hoard people information, I've never allowed them to track me, never signed up for their services, never agreed to ever interact to them, yet they hold my information.. What is the sense in filling a dispute and TransUnion just keeps coming back with the same answer the account belongs to you,Well yes that's why I am disputing that their being crooked by just keep adding interest without closing the account like I keep saying people need to Sue all these credit reporting companies because they are for companies not the public!!!!
no customer service
I have been having a great deal of trouble for several months with logging into my account and accessing my credit information. I have spoken to a dozen representatives who keep transferring me to other departments and getting disconnected. Customer service definitely needs to be retrained on customer service. Now they are telling me it's going to take some time before they can correct their issue so I can access my information.
Totally USELESS for Credit Monitoring
Ended up with their credit/identity monitoring due to the TicketMaster data breach -- It is Useless! NO alerts to date versus a dozen from the Experian monitoring service that I also have. All alerts were info on the "dark web" and all related to TicketMaster. TOTALLY USELESS (and was a hassle to set-up). Thanks for NOTHING TicketMaster!

Poor customer service- non sympathetic to fraud. Phone system was sub par and I didn't get a confirmation number like I did with the other 2 bureaus.
Their failure to allow my enrollment
I was notified by Ticketmaster of a data security breach and provided a code to log on to mytrueidentity.com to enroll in credit monitoring. On different days 9/17-21/24 I spent about two hours explicitly following mytrueidentity's directions to no avail. I tried at least 7x to enroll and even called their reps twice who couldn't help me. Their reps sounded like they were in India. The error codes (03 a few x and 011) on their enrollment site didn't help. The second rep repeatedly promised me that a supervisor would call me in the next 72 hours. It's now past that and I received no call.
Since their enrollment failure was a waste of my time, I suspect that their purported credit monitoring is a farce as well. I thank God for sparing me from this terrible company's own suspect activities.

I can’t say enough bad things about Transunion, they are the worst of the worst businesses that I have dealt with.
The sub-human people (people ?),, humans ?)) at Transunion treat their customers like parasites. Transunion will do everything that they can to extinguish you - - Transunion’s CUSTOMER - - like a parasite.
I am a recent victim of Identity Theft associated with Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster has enrolled their injured clients in Transunion’s Credit Monitoring Service, Trueidentity.
In my first brush with Trueidentity/Transunion, I followed the instructions that were provided to me by Ticketmaster, to enroll in Trueidentity/Transunion’s credit monitoring service, via their website. That resulted in my first roadblock, with Trueidentity/Transunion, a website that said that Trueidentity/Transunion was no longer enrolling new members. I wondered, how could that be, I just received a letter from Ticketmaster, directing me to Trueidentity/Transunion’s website.
Then, I called the phone number that Trueidentity/Transunion provided me, on their website. I called that number, the phone was answered, and I was directed to press one for English. I pressed 1, and my call was disconnected. I did this 5 times over 1 hour.
Then, I called the Consumer Relations phone number for Transunion. Same thing, Press 1 for English, ……. and, got disconnected, MULTIPLE TIMES.
What a scam of an unscrupulous business that Transunion is.

TransUnion is the worst Credit Reporting Agency. I have been trying to update my file for over a month. I wanted to remove erroneous phone numbers that I have never had. After they asked me to identify myself with my name, SSN, address, phone number, and email, they asked me to "authenticate" myself by asking me three random questions. Wait a minute! I just authenticated myself by giving you all the previous information you asked for. The information I gave them pulled up my file. So, I am confused. Okay, ask the questions! The first question was, "Which one of these phone numbers have you used?" One of the numbers was the phone number on my file that I have never had, so I said none. The other two questions were just as absurd. The customer service representative said I failed to answer correctly, and she could not help me. What? I asked which question I answered incorrectly; she said she could not tell me. Are you kidding me? I asked her, if you can't tell me, why ask me questions to "authenticate" myself anyway when I already gave you correct information to find my file? She hung up on me. I will file a complaint. There should be a class-action lawsuit against this terrible company.

A totally horrible experience no matter how you look at it. So we have major data breaches happening and for almost 2 days I can't get into my account to freeze it. So I finally get some help fixing that, but now I cannot change my password because it says the password I used to log in several times today is not recognized. It meets all of the PW criteria. I even copied the PW from my login and pasted it, and it still says not recognized. I'm 100,000% sure it's correct. It's scary that these guys hold the keys to our credit info. My rating is 842 with the other two, 809 with these guys. Something is definitely wrong with TransUnion. If I had a choice they would be allowed within a thousand miles of my data. I'm sure they'll see a class action suit if not already. UPDATE: 8/20/24 After two days of screwing around with these people I finally got into my account. Today I receive an email that my password has been reset. Now I can't get in with my PW or the one they gave me for the reset. What a disgusting joke this company is.

Absolute joke credit reporting agencies—TransUnion. Constantly having issues only with this agency, suppressing my credit score and no body can tell why. Support useless in this case. It's abnormal gap in score with identical info in all three agencies and transunion stands out from crowd suppressing anywhere from 30 to 80 points. WF wrong with this agency, do we really need to feed and keep that agency?
No access to my info or score criteria
Tried to set up a website account after my TU Fico dropped 25 points with no changes on my record (in any credit bureau). Called several times for support, on the last call I was tied up for over 1 hour. Every call requires entering a bunch of details on the keypad, waiting, and ultimately spending a long time with incompetent support people.
First guy tried to unlock account and didn't work. Second escalated "tech" guy did the same things, still did not work (of course). Next day it worked once and now it is locked again and it's pointless spending an hour with some outsources support in some foreign country without inside system access to know what to do.
I asked about the score drop and they could not give any reason for that. Which makes these scores arbitrary by definition.
I'm not fond of any of these places but I have to say the other two bureaus and FICO were all much more functional with reasonable to good support. I see that TU has a score significantly lower that the other two on this site. No surprise.
So... I cannot access my credit information on the website. They dropped my score and nobody can explain why. And nobody can do anything even if they want to (and it's not clear they do).
